LFW, Day 3

I have said it many times, London truly is one of my favourite cities in the world ! There is just something about this big city that makes me want to be more, want to experience more, want to try out more and get out of my comfort zone. Plus, it seems like when I travel there, my own sense of Fashion expends and momentarily evolves into something completely different than what I usually go for. In London, I am daring ;)

For Day 3 at London Fashion Week, I wore this superb matching icy blue leather bustier and moto jacket from Lovers + Friends, which have both been favourites of the Fashion crowd this past season; Negin Mirsalehi played match-matchy with their skirt suit twinset while Kristina Bazan went for a music fest-inspired look, pairing it with a maxi skirt and wedges ! These are just two pieces that are so simple yet, so on trend and very easy to style up and accessorize. Lovers + Friends is one of my go-to Fashion destination in L.A. and I couldn't be happier that I get to browse their newest additions every season through Wilshire Fashions, back in Montreal.

I wore my Lovers + Friends pieces with this Forever 21 beige number I got from their online Winter sale event last year. In fact, I couldn't even believe there was still a pair of the palazzo pants left in my size, given their insane popularity and price at the time ;) So, to reward myself for being so lucky(!), I also got the same pair in white ! Fun story, traveling via underground roads in London can be quite the expensive little trip, especially compared to the fares we are used to pay in Montreal and New York, not to mention with the exchange rate that makes U.K. so unaffordable for us Americans. And, since Fashion Week basically requires you to be everywhere at once (or at least, get from one place to another as fast as you can!), I had to find a way to move around fast without breaking the bank. So I thought I'd dress down the look with my K Swiss 'Lozan III' all white sneakers, in order to 1) go faster when walking shorter distance (as much as I love my sky-high's, there's no way I'm running the next marathon in them!), and 2) hopping on and off the tube in both, style and comfort.

This sky blue crossbody bag also came in just in time to complete this look, thanks to the amazing the of My Clique, with whom I got to spent an awesome London Fashion Week !

MFW, Day 1

Transitioning between London and Milan seems to be the smoothest part of my Fashion month, every season. It's like actually catching a break from all of that Fashion Week madness, especially with London being slightly more chaotic than Milan ;) Do not get me wrong, I love the energy of LFW and there is nothing that suits more my lifestyle and personality than a busy schedule in an extra-busy city, that said, for some reason, Milan simply is more tidy, methodical. There is a reason for everything that happens in Milan; no fuss, no moss !

For my first day at MFW, I wore this snake print twinset from Sinequanone, courtesy of my friends at Wilshire Fashions in Montreal. I love me a good matching ensemble and this silky duo happened to be just what I had in mind for Milan. I find it is very reminiscent of the 1970's Italian era in all its glory. At the time, Fashion Week was held only twice a year and lasted a couple of days in the Fashion capital that was (and still is!) Milan. Paris was on its way, three short years later…

It may sound funny but what really made me fall for this dress was the camel leather halter collar; I have a thing from neutral details. Plus, I had the perfect pair of Go-go-like suede boots, rounded square oversized sunnies and camel leather handbag to complete my look. The 1970's are famous for many things when it comes to Fashion. Among them, the glamour wear and tailored style stood out strongly during the decade, with boots at the height of their popularity, becoming the accessory of the hour. Despite the widespread boho vibes, loads of girls would opt for a more elevated style inspired by 1940's movie star glamour.

The only thing missing here would be more volume in my hair. Yes, yes, big hair is a thing too ;)

Midnight in London

So, who else feels like they were having fun on a Friday night, out in town and then 5 minutes later… It's Monday again..?

If you want my opinion, that's really the sneakiest thing about weekends; like it or not, the minute you're having a blast, time flies ;) Now, I must admit I am not quite the party girl I used to be in College, in fact, my idea of a fun Friday/Saturday night usually involves, great wine, small bites and hours of digital content creation. But from time to time, I totally feel like having the girls come by, spending hours getting hair and makeup ready, putting on my new favourite party dress and pulling an all-nighter (the good kind!).

We shot these images a few weeks ago during London Fashion Week, right before heading to the Love Bullets x British Fashion Council after party in Nothing Hill, and I was really looking forward to put these up on the blog. It is one of the very first nighttime imagery content I feel happy about, thanks to my good friends J.j., who was able to catch the perfect bits of lights, here and there, to make these photos as vibrant as they are ! I like the effortless feel behind those images; aside from my light-catching sequin dress and this gorgeous Louis Vuitton 'Randonnée' Bucket Bag I found on my favourite vintage designer handbags destination, Luxuca in Montreal, I thought natural, weekend hair, strobing and a bright lip would pull off this party look just right.

And yes, I did go for a very casual pair of white sneakers to complete this ensemble as my feet couldn't bare one more second in sky-high's for the day ;) The harsh reality of Fashion Week season, it is not always all glam and shine but… Almost !

WEAR YOUR COAT AS A DRESS

The idea of a girl putting on an anorak over a chic dress is New Yorker style at its best, if you ask me. Nothing modernizes an all-American heritage staple like pairing utility with luxe and so far, SNOWMAN New York has proven that utilitarian-chic will undoubtedly set the tone for next season's in-Fashion. The anorak-as-a-dress idea I wore when we shot these pictures in one of Shangri-La Vancouver's public gardens last week, is working very nicely against my usual girly-girl aesthetic and for a, let's say, raining parka to do that(!) is pretty phenomenal in my opinion ;)

Plus, there is nothing like a pantless look fit for Fall's most tempestuous weather conditions to turn every gray and moody day into an utterly chic afternoon signing in the rain. Mirror-like puddles, shining cobblestones, steamed up windows; for most people, its just another rainy day which could only be fixed by a miraculolus appearance of the sun just in time for happy hour. To me, my favourite cities in the world, from Paris to Montreal, to (now!) Vancouver, to London, to New York, are even more beautiful in the rain…

The Embrace anorak from SNOWMAN's Action line is just another piece a gem to add to there impressive, extensive collection of masterpieces. I took it upon myself to remain true to my personal style by embrace-ing (pun intended!) a lady-like look, wearing nothing but the cape-embellished sleeveless coat and matching sandals. And if I ever feel like borrowing from the boys (again!), I can just unsnap the hooded-cape from the actual outerwear garment and wear it as a sleeveless vest, another big trend of the moment !

Shall I snap & share a few picture of this one as well ? You tell me ;)
