Looks for less - Guys: Vision of Green

Green with envy takes on a real meaning this fall in menswear. All different shades of green are a big trend. While St. Patty’s day green is tough to pull off any other day of the year, its darker counterparts are much easier! Opt for darker and rich green tones that look polished and sophisticated for both day and evening.

Looks for Less - Ladies: Modern Mod

A blast from the past, Mod made a comeback across several designer shows for fall. However, this 60’s inspired look had a slight face-lift while still keeping with the fun feminine attitude it was so famous for. Don’t over do it though, go for a solid instead of a print and opt for a shift or mini dress that hits above the knee. Pair your dress with a pair of knee high boots to make this look perfect for fall.

"Just for Kick's" : The hottest sneakers for the season

If you're anything like me, you'll wear those killer 6-inch heels until you can't stand the pain any longer. Smart? Not at all but it's the price you pay for wearing cute heels right? But sometimes even

this shoe lover needs to take a break from the sky high heels once in a while.

There's something about the chilly weather around Chicago that makes me want to just throw on a pair of cute sneakers and just head out the door. Lately my new favorite kicks are my Gotta Flurt sneakers.

They're sneakers that stand out from the others with style and attitude. They focus on creating fun and flirty footwear that anyone can wear! Best of all they have sneakers that make a statement and make you stand out! Whether you want something with bling or something a little more simple and casual, Gotta Flurt has a style for everyone. Here's a round-up of the top 5 sneakers for this season !

Anthropologie Southport Fall Runway Show

I am a lover of fashion any season, all year long, but there is just something about the transition of autumn that sparks a whole new kind of inspiration and excitement in my wardrobe. Buckle adorned ankle boots, over-sized flannel, tweed-patterned leggings; I love it all. I want it all!

Thank goodness for gorgeously stocked stores like Anthropologie. The whimsical, meets modern selections are always fun to peruse, even if it's one of those "window shopping only" kind of weeks. You gals all know what I mean.

In celebration of the season's amazing fashions, Anthropologie at 3532 N Southport Ave, hosted a fall fashion show on Thursday, October 2nd. Featuring a selection of pieces and accessories exclusively found at Anthropologie, the show was modeled by local bloggers, employees, and customers.

Anthropologie Southport Apparel Department Manager, Maureen Sullivan assisted with planning, as well as operating the event. "This year’s fashion show focused on some of our key buys and inspirational layering silhouettes," said Sullivan. "There was a focus on dress up/ dress down and versatile looks."

With so many wonderful looks to choose from, Sullivan said it would be difficult for her to choose a favorite of the evening, but admitted she loved the sense of community the fashion show encapsulated. My favorite part of the show? The fluffy pomeranian that strutted the runway rocking a bow tie! (scroll down and prepare for the cuteness).

True to the Anthropologie aesthetic, the evening highlighted a beautiful display of unique and on trend fashions. Sullivan shared with me that her favorite trend this season is feminine floral prints mixed with masculine plaids and knit textures. "We love to see that juxtaposition of different prints, colors, and fabrications to create a well curated narrative."

As a fun finale, guests partook in a raffle with the possibility of winning some amazing prizes! "All the raffle prizes were curated around specific gift themes, that we feel will be important this coming holiday," said Sullivan. "We have such strong home vendors that create really unique bar ware, kitchenware, and candles that we wanted to be able to inform [guests] of all our great product, but also give [guests] a chance to experience it [themselves], and of course it was such an exciting way to thank [them] for being a part of our event."

The Underground Style Series: Lily Duevel

On Thursday, September 25th, nightclub/venue The Underground showcased their final runway show of their 2014 Style Series.  Stylist Lily Duevel, founder of adoptedSTYLE, was in the spotlight for the evening.  An experienced fashion stylist, Duevel highlighted the season's hottest trends in an inspiring showcase.

Night club turned runway, a raised catwalk was set in the center of the club.  Duevel introduced the show, sharing her inspiration for the looks.  One of my favorites being a combination of a flowy red blouse with a charcoal pant.  Just the perfect pop of color!

The evening also featured seasonal cocktails sponsored by Grey Goose.  My favorite of the evening being a spicy carrot cocktail, a perfect pairing with the fall weather and fashions!  Cheers to another wonderful display of designers highlighted by The Style Series.  I am already looking forward to next year's lineup!

GAP Southport Styld.by Event

On September 10th GAP outlets nation-wide celebrated the changing seasons with a stylish shopping event.  I headed to GAP Southport, here in Chicago to drool over distressed denim and everything flannel!

The Styld.by event, ran from 6pm to 8pm and included personal styling, sips and snacks, and featured looks styled by The Zoe Report.  To complete shopper's looks, Solo Salon was onsite for braided hairstyles and buns.  Blogger Peggy of Hallways Are My Runways hosted the event, donning a black and white, checkered button-down shirt and slim-fit jeans, all by GAP of course!

If you missed out on this event, don't worry, keep upcoming Styld.by events on your fashion radar by checking out http://www.styld-by.com/en-us.   I'll meet you there with my favorite, distressed, sexy-boyfriend jeans on!

TJ Maxx Grand Opening On Michigan Ave.

MaxxinistaOne who finds unique and original designer items at discount prices.  My name is Perry Fish and I am an admitted Maxxinista.  I thrifted before it was cool.  Before Pinterest.  Before Maklemore launched his career with a chart topping song about it.

From a very young age, I was exposed to this modern form of treasure hunting.  My mother made a habit of dragging me and my sister into every Goodwill and Salvation Army in the state of Michigan.  Family trips were riddled with garage sale pit stops and bargain binges.

As a fashion blogger, I love shopping the latest styles and live for finding a good deal.  Of course I was thrilled to hear the news of TJ Maxx coming to 600 North Michigan Avenue.  Style expert, Jamie Krell gave me the full tour of the new store space.  My favorite feature is the new Runway Collection section, with up to 60% off designer pieces.

Halfstack Magazine:  What trend are you most looking forward to this season?

Jamie Krell: I love all of the menswear inspired pieces this season.  Traditional blazers (from a bit shrunken to oversized), loose-fitting pants and even matching pantsuits.  It looks instantly chic and fashion forward, but is also extra comfortable, which is always a win-win for me!  I also really like all of the menswear inspired shoes; Chelsea boots and loafers which pair well with everything from jeans to dresses - all trends I spotted while pursuing the racks of the new Michigan Ave store!

HM:  What piece/item from TJ Maxx are you currently lusting over?

JK:  A designer, leather bucket bag (which is also the "it" style of the season) I found at the Michigan Ave grand opening!  I told myself I would abide by the "3 day rule" and if I was still thinking about it after I left the store, I should get it.  It's been over three days and I've thought about it every second.  Is that wrong?  I guess I need it!

The new location on Michigan Ave officially opened it's doors on Thursday, September 4th.  Keep an eye out for two more locations popping up soon, Romeoville and Northbrook!
