Running For President = BLAND Fashion. Why do Presidents or persons running for President of the U.S.A. look so BLAND? Is that what America wants? And should it be that way? Let me raise this question: why do they have to dress like that? Is it good to look bland and so "middle-of-the-road" in terms of style and fashion? Does dressing too well send bad messages to the voters, such as "Too style-concerned means they are frivolous and not worried about the economy, taxes and foreign policy". Of course, as a voter myself, I would not think that but perhaps I am in the minority. As the election draws to an end (Thank God!), and after watching so much news coverage of President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney, I began to think--as a Fashion Designer --WHY do these men wear those pleated khakis; why are their dress shirts SO BIG; and why, oh why...do they have to wear Mom Jeans and those navy nylon blouson jackets. Why are the men running for President of the U.S.A. so unfashionable? They dress like my 85 year old dad--who, I love but--he's EIGHTY-FIVE! But maybe that's how America wants to see their Presidents and/or Presidential hopefuls...
Khaki Love:
President Obama and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie: I get it, President Obama is touring the destruction and damage Super-storm Sandy brought upon New Jersey (here with NJ Governor Chris Christie) and therefore, his outfit has to say "Casual, Concerned but yet still, Business-minded". To me, it's fine, but why does it ALWAYS have to be this; it's like the Straight Man's Version of "Casual Friday's at the Office". But he still looks like an insurance salesmen surveying the damage. I guess I should just be happy that at least President Obama was wearing FLAT FRONT khakis--as opposed to these pleated ones he featured in the past:

I know that he's got "bigger fish to fry" than what to wear but...I wonder if he asks someone in his staff "What should be appropriate for this sort of thing?" and some person with no knowledge of style says "khakis, an open-collar dress shirt, and a nylon jacket". If a Fashion Gay (like me) got to him, I would at least, give him a FAB Trench Coat! Oh--and a scarf. Hermes, preferably. But, yes I am happy that at least someone got to him and told him to DITCH the pleated khakis and go for the FLAT FRONT. Thank you Michelle Obama (I presume--or that gay staffer with style!).
Romney Not Exempt: Governor Mitt Romney drank the "Blouse-y Jacket Kool-Aid" too...this whole ensemble looks like the "Dad Meeting his Daughter's New Boyfriend...on a Saturday" outfit. But to the US, it says "I can be casual too!". I don't even know what to say. This jacket needs to be put away...far, far away. Maybe the US Government can spend some of my tax money on hiring a design company to make "uniforms"--stylish ones--for the Presidents and Hopeful Presidents--something similar to say, what Banana Republic just designed for the Virgin America staff, flight attendants and pilots to wear:
I would be all for that. They would create an "Outfit to Tour Disaster Areas", an "Outfit To Tour Ohio", an "Ensemble to visit the Troops", an "Outfit for a Europe Visit", and so on. The First Lady spends so much time on her clothing (and in return, we the public, spend the same amount of time--if not more--scrutinizing it), why can it be the same for the men?
Mom Jean Boys:
PS: It's 2012, Boys: I just about cringe when I see both Governor Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama in those too-high waisted mom jeans. I give points to Governor Romney for his pant legs being a little slimming--but, I take them away when I see those tacky "whiskers" on the jeans. And need I remind everyone of President Obama and those mom jeans he wore when he threw out the first pitch at the All-Stargame back in 2009. I think I gave away a similar style to Out of The Closetback in 1993! Have we seen Obama wear these again? Nope, not so much. Hopefully, he gave those away too. And not to the Smithsonian!
Too Big Dress Shirts:
Dress Shirt Madness: Both President Obama and Governor Romney love the no-tie, unbutton one button look when they are out there on the "stump" reaching out to the "blue-collar" voters. This is a big theme during those visits. This fashion style makes them look a little more "like us"--or so their handlers think. To me, they look like they are selling vacuum cleaners but I guess to the rest of America, they look "Presidential Casual". And what is up with the roll-up the cuffs thing? So TIRED. Seriously, do people still think this mean s"Oh, look, they're getting to work!! Yipee!".
Tie-Less Boys: Governor Romney and President Obama
Too Large: Why is the shirt SO big?I seriously want to grab three inches off the side and take up about the same amount through the armhole. In all my years as a designer and working with wardrobe stylists on many shows, we always came across men who wanted their clothing WAY too big; we would ask them "What size are you?" And they would say "42 Regular" and we would put them in a 38R. What is it about men (or at least STRAIGHT Men) wanting to wear boxier, bigger garments? Slimmer dress shirts boys.

President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney--I'm not sure either will win in the Fashion Election, but hopefully all politicians will slowly move away from the pleated khakis, mom jeans, too-big dress shirts and blouse-y nylon jackets. Can you believe our favourite blockbuster from the 90's is turning 21 years old this month ? 21 years of sass, giggles, wisdom and gorgeous outfits just went by while it seems like the famed movie was airing for the first time just a little while ago. I mean, seriously, who hasn't been completely obsessed over Dionne's sense of Fashion, Tai's incredibly chill vibe and Cher's... Well, Cher's everything; from a colorful and kind personality, to a breathtaking beauty, to an undeniable faith in great love. Not to mention that all of theses gals truly knew how to pull off an outfit and how to keep-up with trends that lasted over two decades now. Let's look into it a little deeper…
1. OVERSIZED BLAZER
Oversized blazers have been a thing since the 80's but Clueless showed a more polished version of the outerwear garment, making it super versatile and easy to wear on the daily. They're the best option for an unconventional Autumn jacket and an essential to achieve the boyfriend look (along with BF jeans!). You can wear an oversized blazer along with skinny dress pants for a modern twist on the woman's corporate suit or you can simply layer it on your shoulders with harem pants, a white tee and a nice pair of sandals for a night out in town. Also, shootout to the timeless white button-down shirts, newly trendy silver footwear and raging knee-high sock game !
2. FRONT BUTTON-DOWN SKIRT
Speaking of button-down, if you don't own a front button-down skirt yet, you better head over to the closet Forever 21/H&M/River Island/Mango/you get the picture around. This is one of the biggest must-haves this season and promises to be so, for a long time coming. So it's like making an investment! Fast-Fashion retailers will have a wide variety of options for very good prices while designers created their own original versions of the 90's classic, twisting it up with their signature styles, for a slightly higher price. My top three button-down's included LOFT, Carven and Etienne Marcel ;)
3. MAD FOR PLAID
Plaid has been one of the oldest and most worn pattern all-around the world for more than five centuries, mostly because associated to monarchy and posh lifestyle. Although it is such a timeless print, it can become extremely old-fashioned if worn the wrong way. Worn the right way though, it is one of those trends that anyone could pull-off, making a major Fashion statement ! Cher and Dionne certainly knew how to sport their classic suits back in 1995, without looking too generic. It is all about appropriating yourself the pattern in the right colour, shape, length and accessorizing it well. Cher's inclination for the colour yellow is such a character statement; bold, happiness-seeker and goal digger !
4. LITTLE RED DRESS
With all do respect for the infamous LBD, a new slip dress is slowly making its way back to the top and it's the little red one ! Of course, Cher knew right away that such a piece in such a colour was a go-getter for the perfect entrance at anytime; she made sure to sport it in a more casual but still Beverly Hills way, while attending a party in the Valley, and to dress it up in a sultry, sexy but very PG-13 kinda-way for a date night with Christian. I'm pretty confident it would have worked if Christian wasn't actually a cake boy but hey, A+ for effort !
Last but not least, the black and white sporty trend. A huge thanks to mind-blowers like Muehleder, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney who single-handedly brought back this genius Fashion genre to life a few seasons ago. Other brands like Alala, FILA, River Island and Pierre Hardy kept-up with it, making it what it is today in the high-Fashion industry. Sportswear no longer have to remain in your gym locker, that's a fact, but if you feel like styling-up a bit your athleisure game, be our guest ;)

Golden Queen: Queen Elizabeth II waves during the Diamond Jubilee Concert, London
London continued it's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations with a star-studded concert on Monday night in front of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II smiled as she took her place.
The 86-year-old sovereign, wearing a black cape with gold buttons, drew a huge cheer as she arrived for the second half of the concert.
She was escorted into the royal box by her son and heir Prince Charles. Sadly, her husband and Prince Consort, the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip was earlier taken to hospital as a precautionary measure with a bladder infection so she was there without him.
Later she would come on stage--along with all the concert's stars as well as her son, Prince Charles. There, one could see the fabulous gold sequined scoop-neck dress with elaborate embellishment which was hiding beneath that black cape. And correct me if I'm wrong but the Queen is wearing gold colored gloves. I thought the Queen only wore White or Black Gloves? Is this a landmark glove moment?!...or maybe just something she does on the most special of occasions.
Robbie Williams Diamond Jubilee Concert, London
The concert, in warm evening sunshine, kicked off with fireworks and an energetic performance from Robbie Williams that got the crowds rocking. After a pyrotechnics opening and music from a military band, resplendent in their scarlet tunics and bearskin hats, Williams jumped out from behind to join them for a high-octane rendition of his song "Let Me Entertain You" (as seen from above photo). The concert was being watched by more than 10,000 lucky ticket holders in temporary stands, and tens of thousands more on The Mall. The ceremonial route to the palace was a sea of Union Jack flags, with people enjoying the one-of-a-kind Diamond Jubilee Concert on giant screens.
Members of the royal family were in the stands naturally, including Prince William, his wife Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge and brother Prince Harry. Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice (yes, she of THAT Hat!) were right next to them enjoying the concert as well. Prince William and Prince Harry were more relaxed with open collared shirts.
Now, let's get to some of the Concert's Fashionable Highlights:
Hula Hoop Diva: Jamaican-born Music and Fashion ICON, Grace Jones, performed "Slave to the Rhythm" in a red-and-black laminated strapless bodysuit and overskirt--and kept a hula hoop going throughout. PS: she's SIXTY FOUR YEARS OLD!!! Her ensemble was very Thierry Mugler old-school.
Biker Chic Kylie: Australian singer Kylie Minogue took the stage and did a mini-medley of a couple of her hits. She wore all black in her fitted motorcycle jacket and shorts--all with gold-and-silver crystal accents. Love the hat as well. She's very "Gay Biker Bar" in that ensemble! And look at those silver -clad Gladiator Gals. Kylie really is a Gay Man's Fashion Wet Dream (or at least mine!).
Later on she changed into a stunning ivory silk jersey Grecian Goddess gown with an asymmetrical neckline and high side-slit a la Angelina Jolie. She is soooo "Miss USA Pageant" contestant in this...and in a GOOD WAY!!!!
Now Onto a Hall of Fame Diva:
Drama Queen: Welsh songstress Dame Shirley Bassey sang "Diamond Are Forever" (of course!) and well, she looked DIVINE in an ivory gown with chiffon capelet sleeves that flowed in the London wind and made for dramatic effect as she belted out one of her iconic songs. She looked AMAZING and the gown was a Lesson on How To Dress In Front of THOUSANDS of people!!! Go on Miss Shirley Bassey!
Mermaid Cheryl: For the Diamond Jubilee Concert, British singer Cheryl Cole wore a design from Eva (or Ewa) Minge Spring 2012 Haute Couture--Eva Minge is a Polish fashion designer who has shown in Paris Fashion week and this must have been a nice PR coup for her and her pr team. The gown was a strapless black Mermaid-shaped number with ombre-dyed bottom full-skirted section. Very dramatic and very right for such an event.
Tutankhamen Meets Buckingham: London-born singer Jessie J. rocked the Diamond Jubilee Concert wearing UK-based designers Falguni and Shane Peacock. They are originally from India and have dressed many a celebrity--such as Lady Gaga,Fergie and Britney Spears, to name a few (they have MAJAH PR money darlings!). The dress Jessie J. wore was from their Spring 2012 collection, It featured royal blue feathers, intricate "Tutankhamen"-inspired embellishment over a black see-through base. It was a very Stage-appropriate look especially if you want to get noticed beyond the tenth row of concert goers.
Even with all these Fashion Queens, the REAL Fashion Queen was the one and only Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her gold silk lame and Swarovski crystal ensemble. Kisses, and God Save The Queen...

Marc Jacobs got a more million dollar Louis Vuitton contract for Kanye a few years ago. Kanye launched a sneakers collection with Louis Vuitton. Kanye's been grateful for Jacobs since then. Jacobs controls Kanye in many ways. It was Marc's idea for Kim Kardashian to wear that Givenchy dress. He wanted to make fun of the pregnant woman at the Met Ball.( Last year everyone was making fun of Jacobs in the lace see-through shirt dress that he was wearing at the Met Ball. ) He even made Kanye steal an old Hungarian song.

Kóbor János the singer of Omega claimed he will sue Kanye for sampling Gyönyhajú Lány(The organs from New Slaves) and not crediting them.He already hired an international lawyer to start the confrontation. They can't sue Kanyeyet because it was only played on walls and on SNL and it's not official. But if it mades the Album he promised he will step in the ring. It's funny because the 66 buildings experience was filmed on the singer's 70th birthday

Marc Jacobs pulls Gaga`s strings. He talked her into getting an Angel inked on her head. It is not enough for Marc Jacobs, that Lady Gaga is wearing my style, the Angel Barta style ( for example the huge bows) he even wanted her to have an Angel tattoo on her head. He wants to control everyone!
Why does the famous Lady Gaga let a fashion designer to control her?
Because she need the magazine covers, and the well-paying campaign contracts that Marc Jacobs gives her.
Marc Jacobs copied my own designed large fuchsia bow and made Gaga to wear it.
Marc Jacobs even designed a Louis Vuitton wheelchair for Gaga.

So how does Jacobs control the entire fashion industry?
First, he buys the people. He gets them good jobs. For example for Inez and Vinoodh photographer duo. He got them Louis Vuitton campaign contracts many times and now he got them a very big job: The latest video clip of Lady Gaga. He tells them what he wants in the clip and they realize Jacobs` fantasy in the video clip.

The official music video for Lady Gaga’s new track “Applause” has released. They first presented the song last week, followed by a sexy topless spread that the singer had in the latest issue of V Magazine. Photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh produced both the V Magazine spread and now also directed the new music video for the single. Inez and Vinoodh used to make all the Louis Vuitton campaigns, they are great friends of Jacobs. MJ recently gave them the Miu Miu and Nina Ricci campaigns instead of the LV (Steven Meisel shoots the LV campaigns since 2008)... Plus, they `discovered` the first of Marc`s Hungarian model,s Eniko Mihalik in 2008. They booked her for an exclusive 6 months contract.
There is another editorial that belongs to Marc Jacobs in the same issue of V magazine. Australian model Miranda Kerr embodied the HUNGARIAN adult film actress Cicciolina. How interesting is that the model is wearing Louis Vuitton and Givenchy dresses. ( I am Hungarian too)

The Art of Travel Louis Vuitton campaign was shot by Inez and Vinoodh fronted by Marc Jacobs` favorite American model Arizona Muse, who was discovered by him, she first walked the Marc Jacobs and Prada shows.
The story of the campaign: Admiring the Mona Lisa, she realizes a man is following her. After finding she is the only one to have the key to a mysterious trunk where a letter is hidden, she accepts Vuitton’s invitation to a journey, disappearing in a hot air balloon above Paris.
Here is another example... Arizona featured in the Louis Vuitton Cruise Catalog, where Jacobs copied many of my personal pictures. Jacobs follows me everywhere. He hired people to take photos of me on the street. Then he copied the moments of my life for his Cruise Catalog.
The story of the Catalog is quite similar to the Art of Travel campaign`s story: The girl walks on the streets of Paris and a mysterious man is following her everywhere.
Not long after I made pictures at Place Vendome for my Angel Barta Lookbook wearing my own designs, Marc Jacobs copied my pictures with the SAME photographers and the same model from the Louis Vuitton campaign. Jacobs asked them to make a `smiling at Place Vendome` editorial for Vogue Paris. The model had show a big happy smile on EACH pictures just like I did in my lookbook a few months earlier during the haute couture fashion week.
How can a fashion designer control the world famous celebrities?
Well, in Jacobs' case easily. Do you know why Madonna sings and dances they Jacobs wants her to? Why did Madonna sing a song with Jacobs' favorite singer M.I.A ( who featured in the Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign in 2008)?
Because Jacobs gave her the Louis Vuitton 1 year long contract in 2009. Madonna got $10 million for the campaign. Since then Madonna is grateful for Jacobs.
Marc Jacobs got inked the word " Shameless" on his chest... Even he admits and knows how cruel and shameless he is!

The answer is simple: Jacobs gets Terry very well-paying jobs. ( Just like he did for Inez and Vinoodh for the Gaga clip)... and Terry can not say no to money!
For example in 2011, Terry followed Gaga on her “Monster Ball” tour taking behind the scenes pics, 350 of which made it into his book Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson. Post reports that Richardson made $58 million on his photos between June 2012 and June 2013. The latest job Jacobs got Terry is the new video clip of Miley Cyrus, the Wrecking Ball was directed by Terry Richardson.

In 2012 summer polka dots were the must have trends of the summer. 2 months later Jacobs designed a collection full of stripped outfits... each single outfit was stripped! Marc Jacobs and Joe Jonas (another former Disney star)
This was not the only time when MJ wrote a song for a singer. Here is another example.
Joe Jonas, a young American singer, who is as close friends with the designer, that he even lived in Marc' apartment for a couple of months, in New York.( Read more details on Elle.com)
Of course Jonas could not say no to Marc when he asked him to sing this song about my love with Marc. Watch the video, it was recorded in Paris, you will see at 2:15, that the girl in the clip is called Angel, like me and at 0:50 the boy writes " Angel" with red lipstick.
How did Jacobs use one of my idea for several times?
I was wearing my own designed coat in 2011 during Paris Fashion week.

1st. Marc Jacobs copied the concept of my photo for his ad campaign.
2nd. He used my magenta-blue colour combination to design a Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag...
3rd. He not just copied my blue-magenta coat, but also made Lady Gaga wear it!
They met in Paris and he talked her into wearing it! By the way he designed that dress for the french brand Comme des Garcons. ( He often wears Comme de Garcons outfits, for example the pink " nightgown" he was wearing at the Louis Vuitton exhibition opening Event. )

It seems that Anna Dello Russo ( editor of Vogue Japan) really liked my coat with the big ribbon. After we met she copied me. The brand of her dress is Nina Ricci! What a coincidence! That dress never was on the catwalk, you could see it only on Anna dello Russo.
Marc Jacobs designed that dress with the help of Katie Grand and Peter Copping.
Peter Copping used to be the right hand of Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton for more then 10 years. In 2009 Marc got him the creative director job at Nina Ricci. This way Marc can control the design team at Nina Ricci too. Peter designs what his supporter wants him to. Marc puts his ex colleagues at most of the fashion brands... he wants to control the whole fashion industry.
This is how Marc can copy my ideas for Nina Ricci. The Hungarian models usually walk the NR catwalk.
First Marc copies my designs then spreads it in the whole world... and it becomes a trend.
Guess, I don't need to explain why you see Cara Delenvigne everywhere lately. Delevingne’s rise to modeling stardom can be tracked back to Marc Jacobs and Katie Grand, who frequently puts Delevingne in (and even on the cover of) her magazine,Love. By the way Kate Moss ( the other woman who is so passionately french kissing Jacobs) is on the cover of the same issue of LOVE Magazine. It was Jacobs' idea to launch the Love Magazine and he put Katie Grand as editor in chief.The models featured in the magazine have to realise all his perverse fantasies in the editorials.
Marc Jacobs`s team: Miley Cyrus, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora, Karen Elson, Derek Blasberg. Marc made successful EACH of them.
Jacobs booked Delevingne for his mainline and Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2013 catwalk shows, and picked her to appear nude on his 'Protect The Skin You're In' T-shirts to raise money for skin cancer research... she also starred in Jacobs's perverse short Louis Vuitton video. Marc loves Cara a lot, now he just wants Katie Grand to take responsibility for her instant success, so Jacobs can stay in the background.

Marc can control what the celebrities wear through his close friend, Rachel Zoe, stylist from Hollywood, she dresses Taylor.
