I'm super stoked to share with you these amazing shots from the Edeline Lee SS16 collection presentation I stopped by during my first day at London Fashion Week. For her debut season on the official LFW schedule Edeline Lee’s collection took us on a road trip along Highway One, cruising down the Californian coastline on a beautiful Summer day. The designer brilliantly honed her techniques to create a fresh Spring line, using art as the main inspiration, from the Ocean Park Series of Richard Diebenkornt to the Memphis group. The final result was a light and playful collection made of twisted fabrics, textured Flou Bubble jacquard prints and detached draping combined with acid pastel colours like aqua, yellow, coral and lilac.
Having just spent the entire Summer out on the West Coast with Karl definitely made me appreciate Lee's work a notch more, reminding me of everything that is different yet, more enjoyable out there ! It is also a great reminder that designers can create something that's going to be commercialized and easy to wear but still edgy and out of the box. I particularly had a soft spot for the lurex, pearlescent, holographic tweed 'denim' jacket she cleverly paired with a matching pencil skirt and chic Summer espadrilles. A must for any classic style gals like myself who enjoy doing things differently for a change ;)
