In London With Vidal Sassoon

Back to a couple of months ago, when I attended London Fashion Week with the British Fashion Council, in the heart of the English capital. London definitely is a vibrant, eclectic, amazing city and it can only be such a pleasure and a true honour to get to travel overseas and explore more of the British soils as often as I do. And when the whole city comes together to host a high-profile event such as Fashion Week for instance, you really get to experience the true essence of the British way of life and enjoy what the country has, yet, best to offer !

The British are notorious for being at the avant-garde of things, although they tend to stay as close to traditions as they can, at times. I'm guessing this is the English way of doing things ;) That said, when it comes to Fashion, beauty, art, music and, well, lifestyle in general, London defines and prides itself on curating innovation in all forms and manners, as it might come. One of the most delightful experiences I got to enjoy while in London this past September was my (much needed!) visit to the Sassoon Hair Salon on Monmouth Street, in Covent Garden. I had the pleasure of being a guest of Vidal Sassoon at the Edeline Lee SS16 presentation held the night before and getting to witness the beautiful work of the Sassoon hair team behind-the-scenes only had me more and more excited at the idea of having them style my hair for the rest of the week.

The concept as Sassoon's is convenient and straight-forward. You can either walk-in with a rather precise idea in mind of what you'd want to get done or, you can simply make an appointment with a stylist that will consult on various options that would suit your style and give you the results that you want. Being myself completely obsessed with the laid back, glamourous look Sassoon's creative director, Damien Peers, created for the Edeline Lee presentation, I decided to go along with the deep side part and very natural hair movement the models sported the night before. A simple yet, modern feel that was achieved with the infamous Sassoon Professional Edit Body styling mousse; an aerated, bodifying foam that gives structural support and full volume to the hairstyle, and the Sassoon Professional Definitive Groom styling cream; a weightless formula that smoothes and defines hair for a tailored look with texture and shine. After air blow-drying my entire head of hair, my hairstylist used a two-inches wide curling iron to create supple curls which she loosed by brushing downwards. She then fixed the whole look with a light coat of Sassoon Professional Edit Hold Long Lasting Finishing Spray.
