Truly, it cannot get any better than this; getting off work to meet-up with friends and co-workers for good drinks, great food and fun chats about life as of late… To me, it's the perfect occasion to catch up with my girlfriends and hear all about what's going on in their lives since we no longer see each other on the daily, now that we're all University grads. And lucky for us, Montreal is filled with amazing spots to hangout at with a small group, whether you're in for a wild night out or just a quiet gathering. Now comes the tricky part… What to wear?
Since I have a 9 to 5 job, I don't have time to stop by my house and change before going out, otherwise, I would miss half the fun. Truth be told, if you've ever done happy hour in Montreal or really, anywhere around the world, you'll know for a fact that the later you get there, the slimmer are your chances at getting seated right away. Which is why on most Thursdays, I like to opt for outfits that effortlessly transition from day to night. Here are three looks I swear by to take me from a busy day at the office to an awesome night out in town in style...
Whenever my after work schedule includes grabbing drinks with friends on a rooftop terrace, I immediately think fun, flirty and comfy. A cute little romper is all that and more, making getting dressed a cinch; no separates, no matching, no worries! At the office, I like to layer it with a midi vest to add dimension to my overall look and I pair the whole thing with a nice pair of crisp white sneakers to avoid driving more attention than necessary to my bare legs. Outside the office, I ditch the sleeveless parka to reveal the gorgeous crochet details on the back of my one-piece and I swap my sneakers for a pair of sexy cognac wedges.

2) IF YOU'RE ATTENDING A NETWORKING EVENT
Networking or alumni events seriously are the worst bits when it comes to dressing accordingly. Although they're meant to be informal gatherings to network with peers and former classmates, the whole thing really is quite formal. You want to make sure that your look sends out the right message about you; professional, go-getter and fabulous.
Being the sucker that I am for one-pieces, I usually opt for a simple, black, strapless jumpsuit to take me from day to night in style and comfort. By day, I like to give it a functional twist by wearing it over a plain white tee; just a fun, different way to cover-up bare shoulders ;) I throw on a pair of sneakers, a matching golf cap (the dad's hat thing will seriously up you cool factor this season!) and carry my stuff around in a backpack for extra conveniency. By night, I switch cover-ups, taking off my t-shirt and throwing on a brightly colored jacket (don't want to go unnoticed, now do we?). I swap my casual flats for some fancy black stilettos, kiss my comfy backpack goodbye and say hello to a classic suede , one-shoulder alternative.

3) IF YOU'RE HEADING TO A RESTAURANT FOR HAPPY HOUR
Anyone hungry yet? Me, always! After one of those busy weeks, I like to kick-off the weekend a little early and makes plan for an evening of delicious eats and drinks along with my besties. Cocktailing and dining out probably are my favourite occasions to dress up and look all cute, and transitioning from office-wear to evening wear is by far, the simplest yet, the best-est ;) During a regular day at work, I aim for my usual feminine and polished look, often going for a navy ruffled skirt with floral pattern details, a tennis style, button-up polo shirt, a nice pair of leather ballet flats and a matching handbag. When time comes to clock and head out, I simply take off my polo, revealing a simple, spaghetti-straps fitted tank top, and swap my ballerina flat for a sexy pair of lace up blush sandals. Bag stays. What do we think? Easy, breezy!
