It looks like expressionist painting has made a come back and it may well be it's best expressed through getting as much on your pants as you land on the canvas! Actually I for one am glad to see hard-won studio clothes worn out to art shows; though if you were at L
iverpool St Gallery last night during the early
Gallery Lock, a gallery so full of people you can't move; you might want to check and see if it looks like you brushed against a wet painting or two while out.. and if you were at Liverpool St or the crowd was too much you may also have dropped into
Stanley Street Gallery which was showing three artists and some powerful sculptural work dealing with the most urgent matters of today and our future.. and the art looks great while prodding your possibly already well informed head; but we must keep on thinking on these things. Perhaps that's why I liked seeing the paint splattered clothes so much last night; it gave me hope of a rebellious youth rising up again. Now that's an encouraging thought to engage with. Scroll down for more shows and opening nights..
