5 Collectible Sneakers You Can Expect to Find at The Ultimate Sneaker Show in Montreal This Weekend

If you're not feeling too bad after a first round of crazy Halloween festivities tonight, perhaps you'll have time (and energy!) to check out the Ultimate Sneaker Show coming into town this weekend, brought to you by Sole Exchange Canada.

Tomorrow, Oct. 29th, from noon to 6PM, come and network, sell or exchange your shoes, and connect with fellow sneakerheads from Montreal, as well as from all around the world!

How many pairs of sneakers do you guys own? Well, it doesn't really matter... Whether its not enough or too many, the Ultimate Sneaker Show - Montreal will certainly feel like homecoming ;) Ahead of tomorrow's event, here a list of the most collectible sneakers you can expect to find at the show, for which price and why you should totally line-up bright and early to make sure you get them before anybody else does!

1. Air Jordan 11 retro "Space Jam"

Release year: 2009

With the 20th anniversary of Space Jam fast approaching (Nov. 15th everyone!), there is no doubt the iconic Air Jordan XI is making a comeback as the most sought-after Air Jordan design ever created. For those of you who remember, the last time the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” were seen was back in December 2009, which kicked off a serious run for the Jordan Brand as it was actually one of the first Air Jordan 11 iterations to grace the hardwood within the NBA. Today, the pair retails for about US$700 for a men's size 13 and is set to return on December 17th to celebrate 20 years of pure basketball tune-crazy.

Much different from the 2009 release, this year's pair will feature a chunky patent leather cut, its original "45" embroidery on the heels (when Michael Jordan returned to basketball, designers adjusted the '23' on the heel of his Air Jordan 11s to his new number '45) and some very blue looking icy outsoles. As for money talk, Jordan Brand is known for their snarky habit of charging premium for their yearly Jordan 11s and this pair will be no different at US$220.

2. Air Jordan 2 Retro x Don C 'Beach'

Release year: 2016

The first month of 2016 marked a fresh start for the Jordan Brand as they brought, once again, luxury to the hardwood, dropping a brand new collaboration with Chicago’s very own Just Don. Launched in 2011, Just Don played a huge part in bridging the gap between sportswear and luxury fashion with unique, upscale hats which quickly became a go-to destination for any adorer of high-end athleisurism. Following their debut collaboration in 2015, Don C, founder of Just Don, decided to keep the same luxurious aesthetic on his second work with the Jordan Brand, using the Air Jordan 2 in a combination of premium tan leather and suede coming in a cream/white sandy shade called 'Beach'.

Originally retailed a little over US$350, the Air Jordan 2 Retro x Don C 'Beach' can now be re-sold to profit for about US$1,500 for a men size 10. Althought that might seem a bit steep, knowing what the illustrious Just Don merch. usually resells for, fans of Don C will have no problem working around that. Which Don C x Air Jordan 2 are you liking the most?

3. Nike SB What the Dunk 'What the Dunk'

Release year: 2007

Just in time for Halloween! The Frankenstein-like creation that is the Nike SB Low "What the Dunk" is considered a holy grail to some sneakerheads and was one of the more anticipated Dunks that Nike Skateboard ever released. This particular sneaker takes elements from all the hypest Dunk SB's previously made and quickly became a milestone creation by Nike, since never before have so many different pieces of design, patterns, materials or colors have been put into one single pair. If you take a closer look, you’ll find pieces from the Cali’s, the Pigeons, the Jedi’s, the Denims, the Supreme Hi’s and Lows, the Shanghai 1 and 2’s, and the Avengers.

It originally retailed at select Nike SB accounts with a price tag ranging anywhere from $250-$300 but if you happen to have about 2 G's lying around in your bank account, these can now be yours today. Psssst! Rumor has it only 300 pairs where made…

4. Air Max 1 Premium Atmos 'Elephant'

Release year: 2007

Nike looked to the East when teaming up with Atmos on the design of the infamous Atmos 'Elephant' Air Max 1's released in April 2007. With plenty of sneakers under its belt, the premier Tokyo-based shoe store was the perfect influence Nike needed to inject their new Air Max 1 update with, at a time when runners were not high-fly. Featuring vibrant colours and excentic (at the time it was!) material and patterns such as the elephant print, which is visible throughout the shoe’s upper, the Atmos 'Elephant' AM1 still sold out and quickly became one of the most sought after runners in a market dominated by Nike SB and basketball kicks.

Originally retailing for probably no more than US$250, a pair of Air Max 1 Premium Atmos 'Elephant' can now be purchased for US$1,250, if you're a men size 9, 11 or 12. If you're ever wondering how can a pair of runners sell for this much, while no set number is known, rumor has it less than 5,000 pairs were produced at the time and despite being released nine years ago now, the colorway continues to look fresh thanks in large part to Nike’s continued use of both the elephant print and jade coloring.

5. Yeezy Boost 350 v2

Release year: 2016

The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 is Kanye x adidas' newest addition to the Yeezy family, who's mission is bringing to life the ultimate in music, culture and fashion. First unveiled during the FW16 presentations last February, the low-top sneaker features a new striped pattern on the upper for a classic aesthetic, with a mix of Primeknit and adidas' coveted Boost cushioning technology.

Originally sold at US$220, West's vision for effortlessness and timelessness, melding the forward-thinking technologies of adidas with a bold new design, is now worth between US$800 and US$1,250, depending on your shoe size.
