SPRING/SUMMER 2018 - KEY DETAILS AND WASHES
Inspired by their last walk thru the Denim by Premiere Vision trade event, Trendstop’s denim team bring you the key jeanswear looks that will be impacting SS18, helping to ensure that collections have the optimum expert analysis to inform decision making. These initial emerging trends are curated and developed by our experts to bring you inspirational seasonal reports that evaluate each individual trends commercial value as well as their longevity over the coming seasons.
Here is an insight into three of the latest denim trends that we can expect to see influencing the Spring Summer 2018 season and beyond. Blackened Indigo and Bleached Canvas sit at either end of the denim colour spectrum with palettes of moody saturated darks or washed-out utility pales. The Raw Cut demonstrates SS18’s textural focus as frayed and shredded techniques add a new dimension to staple jeanswear pieces.
BLACKENED INDIGO
Saturated indigo tones are darkened further with dense black shades. Heavily over-dyed effects intensify blackened hues, lending a moody edge to utilitarian styles. Clean, minimalist lines are enhanced by starched, structured handles and pared back detailing.

BLEACHED CANVAS
Bleached-out and whitened finishes bring a canvas-like quality to summer denims. Pale, off-white tones have an untreated, natural handle that lends a lighter, fresher feel to durable utilitarian pieces. Cropped silhouettes and rose gold hardware complimenting the seasonal aesthetic.

Denim’s relaxed appeal is enhanced with textural elements for SS18. The soft-wash, care-worn feel of mid-blue and bleached-out denims are enhanced with placement fraying and shredding techniques applied to collars and hemlines. Lighter hued edges provide a contrast to highlight utility silhouettes.
