This past Sunday, I was invited--along with my NIKOLAKI (and life) partner David Paul--to attend a WONDERFUL event: The Actors Fund 21st Annual Tony Awards West Coast Viewing Party. I have been fortunate enough to have attended this fabulous event celebrating Broadway and the Tony Awards for many years. One of my best friends-for-life Louie Anchondo, is the Special Events Director for The Actors Fund and has shared with me all the amazing work that the organization does for the creative community/world.
Celebrating Broadway...and the INCOMPARABLE Betty Buckley--Invitation to The Actors Fund 21st Annual Tony Awards West Coast Viewing Party
The Actors Fund is a national human services that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment; they are a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. The 2017 edition of their Tony Awards Viewing Party was a big success, highlighted with the homage to the amazing Betty Buckley, who was honored with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement. In addition, one of the most exciting parts of the event is their Silent Auction which this year, did not disappoint. One of the item which I bid on but unfortunately lost--to a fevered last-minute bidding war (tickets to see "Carmen" Opera at the LA Opera!)--but oh well, David and I have several signed Theater Poster/Window Cards including one from Carol Channing to keep us happy until the next Silent Auction!
