Official BMW X6 M Video Confirms Production Version, Power to come from Twin-Turbo V8

BMW has confirmed through a new teaser video - to be exact, in the description of the video- that the forthcoming X5 M (see the teaser film of the prototype model here) will be joined by an X6 M model that will be introduced later in the year. In this latest video, for the first time BMW reveals that both the X5 and X6 M will share a new 'M' prepped twin-scroll turbocharged V8 engine combined with a rear-wheel biased all-wheel drive system.

Up until now, the most powerful variants of the X5 and X6 models are equipped with BMW's new 408HP 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, something that leads us to believe that the 'M' variant of the V8 will deliver an output well over the 500HP mark. Our sources state that BMW will also use this engine on the next generation M5 and M6 models.

G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RS: Fastest Production Sedan in the World

BMW M5 Hurricane RS G-Power The new G-Power prepped BMW M5 Hurricane RS has obtained the bragging rights for the fastest street-legal sedan in the world after it broke the long-standing record of the BRABUS Mercedes-Benz CLS Rocket. In November 2008 the 750 HP strong G-Power M5 Hurricane RS achieved a new top speed of 228,4 mph (367,4 km/h) at the ATP High-Speed test track in Papenburg, Germany. Compared to the 'standard' 730HP M5 Hurricane which has been clocked at 223.8 mph (360 km/h) earlier in 2008, the RS features ASA two modified superchargers with enlarged capacity.

And this will not be the last time that we are hearing about the M5 Hurricane as the folks over at G-Power believe that the Bi-Kompressor system has not yet reached its limits. According to Christian Stöber, the firm's CEO, the V10 engine can handle even more boost.

2009 BMW Z4 Roadster: New Wallpaper Gallery

2009 BMW Z4 For some reason, BMW believes that most internet users have 15-inch monitors hooked up to their computers so they decided to issue a wallpaper gallery of the 2009 Z4 hardtop roadster that consists exclusively of 1024x768 photographs. Even though many of you won't be able to use the pics to decorate your pc's background, you may want to see how the new Z4 looks in a color other than the champagne beige shown on the first press photos by following the jump below.

BMW Z4 CS and Z4 RS by DStyle

The new BMW Z4 roadster may have already made its media-debut but that doesn't mean that tuners have abandoned the current generation model. German tuning firm DStyle, for example, has developed a new styling package for both the Z4 Coupe and Roadster model that will be offered in a limited run of 100 units. With more plastic add-ons than Joan Rivers, DStyle's wide bodykit for the coupe "Z4 CS" and the roadster "Z4 RS is supposedly inspired from the world of racing. The 10-piece aero kit costs a hefty €8,900 in Germany -the equivalent of $12,340- and can be combined with a set of 19-inch alloy wheels in tires 245/35 ZR19 up front and 275/35 ZR19 at the rear.

2009 BMW Alpina B7 Teaser Sketch

A teaser sketch of Alpina's forthcoming B7 model based on the latest generation BMW 7-Series sedan, has appeared on the net. There's no information whatsoever on the car, but the drawing reveals that the new B7 will feature a subtle bodykit that includes Alpina's characteristic front lip spoiler, rocker panels and a discreet rear spoiler complemented by the German firm's multispoke alloy wheels.

If the previous B7 model with its supercharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produced 500HP and 516 pound-feet of torque for a 4.8-second sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) is anything to go by, then Alpina's take on the new 7-Series should be an exciting toy for those that feel the need to stand out from the crowd.

BMW X6 xDrive35d White Shark with 340HP by MCCHIP

MCCHIP has introduced a new tuning package for BMW's controversially styled X6 SAV. The kit concerns the xDrive35d or in other words, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel version. With MCCHIP's software upgrades the inline-6 turbo diesel engine delivers 340HP and 660 Nm, up from the standard car's 286HP and 580 Nm. This enables the X6 xDrive35d to boost the maximum speed from 238 to 251 km/h. The engine kit is complemented by an H&R suspension system that lowers the X6's ride height by40mm up front and 30mm in the back, and a set of 21-inch black alloy wheels. Prices for the upgrades have been set in Germany at €849 for the ECU and at €1,266 for the suspension kit, alloy wheels and the dark chrome BMW kidney grille.
