Julia Roberts’s Favorite Look Is Pretty Obvious

People named Julia Roberts the World’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2017 on Wednesday, and to celebrate she attended a Lancôme event in France.

The stunner stepped out in a tuxedo-themed Givenchy outfit that consisted of a black tux jacket, matching trouser-style shorts, and a white button-down blouse.

Did anyone else just experience déjà vu? That’s because the tuxedo-inspired look seems to be a go-to red carpet outfit for the actress, as she’s worn it at countless events dating back as far as 1989, when she wore a black pinstriped suit with beaded lapels to the New York City premiere of Steel Magnolias.

The actress proved her love of the look by wearing another suit just a few days later; this time a black skirt suit with a long jacket and gold detailing on the lapels, pockets, and cuffs. She recycled that outfit less than a year later for the Hollywood premiere of Flatliners.

And in case you thought it was only dark suits she had a penchant for, Roberts stepped out in a very Pretty Woman light pink skirt suit with aggressive shoulder blades in 1991 for the premiere of Rush.

The ensuing years saw more striped suits, and even a pantsuit, which brings us to 2006, when she wore a full-on black tuxedo with a ruffled blouse to the Critics’ Choice Awards. That seems to have cemented her love of tuxedos.

In the past few years, the Oscar-winning actress has made very few red carpet appearances, but when we do see her, it’s almost guaranteed that we are going to see a semblance of suit. Throughout 2010, she wore three different suits to three different promotional events for Eat, Pray, Love. One was a black jacket with matching shorts — very similar to the outfit she wore to the Lancôme event on April 19, while the others were a white three-piece pantsuit and a black skirt suit.

ASTOR + TYNE AW17 Launch

Last Thursday debuted the inaugural collection from Adelaide based fashion label, Astor + Tyne. A night of champagne, Just Bliss Chocolates, and strawberries accompanied Adelaide A-listers and hand-picked Instagram influencers for the brands 2017 Autumn/Winter runway.

The designers, Melanie and Nicola, created Astor + Tyne with luxe and love in mind. The new collection features cape jackets, cable knits, statement pants and sophisticated tops; all in blushes, blues, and their signature monochrome print.

The brand name itself is reflective of what's close to their hearts, 'Astor' comes from the legendary Lady Astor, the first female parliamentarian and former textiles trader; and 'Tyne', a nickname lovingly given to Melanie as a child by her grandfather.

I was lucky enough to be personally invited by the designers to model the gorgeous new collection on the night. Being a part of the 'Behind The Scenes' of a fashion show was a completely new and exhilarating experience. There I met Nikita Chu, the international stylist with a precise eye who helped style and coordinate the outfits ready for the runway. Among the outfits selected for me, I wore a favourite of mine, the Astound Cape Sleeve Jacket in Cobalt Blue ($249.95), and closed the show with a sneak peek print dress for the upcoming SS17 collection.

The Astor + Tyne AW17 launch was received to an amazing response from the attendees, mentioning the innovative style, couture quality, and modern edge influences throughout the range.

The AW17 is now available from their local stockists, in their online store, and coming soon to Victoria and New South Wales.

A Fresh Look: Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2017

Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2017 was Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut runway collection for the house of Dior. She arrived just months ago, the first woman ever to take charge as creative director
following the departure of Raf Simons last October.

In her debut collection, Chiuri announced her arrival boldly and even aggressively, not in the look of the clothes, but in her fresh take on daytime dressing. Something that in the past, has not been well received at Dior, even under the modernist watch of Raf Simmons.

“I want to introduce into the house of Dior a natural attitude, to dress women to feel comfortable, to feel their beauty,” Chiuri said during a preview. “Women want to use the dress to express themselves. In the past, fashion was more imposition — to impose a look. Now, we suggest our style and our idea, and [women translate] the pieces in different ways.”

Tamannaah Bhatia Bags Our Tuesday Look Of The Day Like A True Fashionista

Tamannaah Bhatia bags our Tuesday's Look Of the Day like it's no big deal. She picked the cutest dress of the week from the label Amit Aggarwal.  Tamannaah's picked a chic and uber fancy sleeveless blue dress for one of her public appearances. A solid blue dress with additions voluminous of purple plaid layers.

The Bahubali actress looked charming wearing this Parisian dress paired with strappy heels.  The actress kept her look simple and chic using minimalist makeup. She side-parted her hair and added voluminous curls to her blow dried hair.

We even liked the shade of her lip colour. She looked lovely. This look can easily pass for a movie date night or a Friday dinner. What do you think? Do you dig this lookbook?

Raf Simons Pays Homage to Big Apple in First Stateside Collection

Raf Simons, the fashion industry’s designer crush, just showed his men’s collection in NYFW: Men’s, and it was a love letter to his new home town, New York City.

The Belgian designer’s much-anticipated move to NYC, for his new job as chief creative officer at Calvin Klein, has been buzzed about for months, as fashion insiders wait with bated breath to see his first collection for the house, debuting in two weeks at New York Fashion Week.

But on Wednesday night, we were given a glimpse of what’s to come.

Simons homage to the Big Apple was paid in the way of sweaters, T-shirts and gaffe tape (yes, gaffe tape!) with the iconic “I ❤NY,” “Have a Nice Day,” and “Thank You” slogans emblazoned across them.

Long coats held together with gaffe tape, arm warmers, and beaded silver necklaces made up the bulk of the collection, and while exiting, whispers were heard from editors wondering if the tape was just for show or if it was actually going to be included with the coat when requested for shoots and at retail.

In short: Will Raf Simons’s gaffe tape be the hottest accessory to come out of men’s fashion week?

Sophie Turner Flashed Her Abs in Revealing Crop Top

Sophie Turner was the fashionable epitome of versatility on Sunday night.

On the SAG Awards red carpet, the Game of Thrones actress stunned in a form-fitting Louis Vuitton gown with an asymmetrical neckline and thigh-high slit. But after walking that red carpet in a glam red gown — with crimson red lip to match — she changed into something much more comfortable (for her, at least). The 20-year-old slipped into a pair of high-waisted jeans and long-sleeved crop top for the after parties.

Turner’s fit physique was front and center in the edgy, ab-flashing outfit. A cropped black-and-purple sweatshirt sat stylishly off her shoulders, while a small silver zipper held the top in place. Her high-waisted, skinny black jeans were cinched with a thin black leather belt whose LV logo buckle was a subtle nod to the custom-made Louis Vuitton gown she had worn earlier. Mesh heels and a boxy silver clutch completed the look.

Two things that didn’t change? Her hair and makeup. Turner’s long blonde, center-parted hair hung in loose pin curls over her shoulders, while a strong red lip emphasized her pale porcelain skin.

But this isn’t the first time the actress has made a bold style statement this awards season. Earlier this month, she walked the Golden Globes red carpet in another Louis Vuitton dress, this one multicolored with a plunging neckline and mesh and glitter detailing. But what’s truly been stealing the show is the actress’ very real — and very adorable — friendship with her Game of Thrones costar Maisie Williams.

At the Globes, Turner was spotted on the red carpet fixing her pal Williams’ gown as she posed for photos, and the world declared them the official epitome of #friendshipgoals. At the SAGs, the sisterly love continued to flow, with Turner posting a sweet snap of the two onscreen siblings seated next to each other at the SAG Awards with the simple caption, “bae.”

Black is the Most Colourful Shade

Black is the Most Colourful Shade

I find Black to be one of the most interesting colours, even though people argue over whether it is a colour at all. Not only is it the most classy colour out there (in my opinion at least), I feel like you can never get enough of it.

It works with everything - cars, dresses, shoes, handbags. Even though Anna Wintour swears against wearing head to toe black anywhere - what would life be without the colour.

Most of my wardrobe is varying shades of black - with many greys and whites scattered among them. If I am ever in doubt of what to wear, I know that if I throw on a black polo neck or a pair of fitted skinny black jeans, then I am pretty much set to go. Also, blonde hair looks very good against black - trust me.

So I rounded up some of my favourite things at the moment that are BLACK :)
