Silver Converse
Trainers: Converse, low rise version here
There's been a lot of love for trainers in recent seasons; from minimalistic Stan Smiths, to high-wattage Nikes. I've been in favour of accepting trainers into everyday apparel - I mean running around London in my comfortable (whisper it) sportswear beats blistering in heels any. day. but there is an old classic which I recently rediscovered in my yet-to-be-unpacked shoe box which has reignited a love so deep, I simply had to share . . . the humble (in my case silver) Converse.
I first bought my silver Converse when I was waitressing at University. Not wanting to give into trainer trainers (I hadn't learnt to love them yet) I needed to find a middle ground for shoes which were comfortable, could last a 12 hour shift, and looked nice. I tried cream Converse and loved them - but they mucky up pretty quick - especially in a busy restaurant - but silver is special, and surprisingly lasts a lot better. When I dug my silver Converse out this weekend, I went to meet my friend Charlotte, who was surprise visiting us from London, and what would you know?! Charlotte was wearing the low rise silver Converse too! Great. Minds. Do I see a resurgence happening? Did they ever really go away? Either way, they're staying put with me now.
After a hunt around it looks like my high top silver Cons are no longer available (I bought mine from Office a couple of seasons ago) however the low rise version are super cute too and I've got my eye on these ridiculously high-fash John Varvatos collaboration high tops as well.

Today I'm running between meetings, and yep am wearing my silver Cons.
