The most addictive thing

Two prominent bloggers had started the ball rolling for a motion, calling for political figures not to extend their "expiry dates", as Malaysians are getting fed-up with the same old faces "offering themselves" as wakil rakyat whenever it's time for the general election.

Apanama wrote here Rafidah, a fine example. Who next?  and Rocky of Rocky's Bru wrote here Rafidah, Salut!

I honestly agree with the two senior bloggers on the need for new faces to be introduced into our political scene. Tiring la all these same old faces. Most are not cool people at all. Not only BN, Pakatan also like that....Lim Kit Siang, Karpal Singh, Nik Aziz...etc etc. Both sides same only.

But, the problem is, I do not think a trend whereby politicians are to let go off their position voluntarily will ever catch on in this country.

Remember this handsome old man?
After serving the country for so long and saving it from I don't know how many predators such as during the late 1990s' financial crisis, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad decided it was time for a younger man to take care of the country. So, without being pressured by anyone, he retires. Probably believing that Malaysians wanted a goodie goodie PM, he got them such a person - Pak Lah. Dr Mahathir may had thought that, well, since so many people called him a dictator and other nasty names, he may as well give them a nice old gentleman as a replacement. As we all should know by now, that decision turned out to be a horrible disaster for the country. On the personal level, Dr Mahathir was thanked by Pak Lah and his minions with a kick in the head and a spit in the face....talk about ingrates, nothing beats what Dr Mahathir had endured at that time in the hand of the person he made a PM.

So, if a great leader such as Dr Mahathir had to go through such humiliation after handing over power, what do all those crooked selfish souls out there could expect once they got no power anymore?

That's why we got disgusting piece of crap characters like Kadir Sheikh Fadzir and Chua Jui Meng, who for throughout their life benefited from being in Umno and MCA, only to turn against their party once they could no longer get anything much from those parties. There are so many other pariah dogs like them up there in position of power.

That's also why this selfless stepping down sacrifice thingy that the senior bloggers are trying to promote will never really catches on. Either it be BN or Pakatan leaders, most are in it for self interests rather than anything else...at least that's how I see it.

Ok, there are a few genuine cases such as Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman who seems certain to stick to his decision to let go off the Johor MB post after the coming general election. The only one who may persuade him otherwise is probably PM DS Najib Razak. Even that, I think will be a long shot. Well, despite making his intention clear about retiring, Ghani still have to put up with the smear campaign by his Umno rivals which to me was very sickening. I guess the culture of kicking and humiliating leaders who are out of power or about to lose power is very strong in our society.

As for the rest, I don't think any one of them will be willing to let go just for the sake of sacrificing for the future of their party. Well, Rafidah Aziz only made the decision not to contest in the general election after she is no longer a Wanita Umno chief. What do you think would have been her decision if she is still the most powerful lady in the party? I admire Rafidah for being a good leader and minister, but I don't think she will let go of her post if she is still in power. Rafidah is indeed good, but she is definitely not Dr Mahathir.

As for the even lesser beings, what can we expect of them when it comes to these sorts of things? Not much, I think.

Power, is after all, the most addictive thing, second only to sex....probably.

Puss in Boots' potential Johor MB

Had a very nice lunch with some very handsome gentlemen today.

One of them, who looks quite like Puss in Boots told me he got a new list of potential Johor MB candidates.

He said since I seem to be into this new Johor MB guessing business, I probably have some ideas of who among those in the list would probably get the job.

First of all, three out of the five candidates in the list were from the old list I had already posted - Nur Jazlan, Dr Latiff and Razali Ibrahim.

The other two are....well, new -
1. Md Jais Sarday, State Youth and Sports Exco, Kluang Umno chief and Mahkota Assemblyman.
My verdict - Performance as an exco was not very outstanding. Does not have the required stature to hold Johor Umno together. Kluang is a grey area for BN. Jais need to do more in his area before having any hope of becoming an MB

2. Datuk Md Othman Yusof, Tanjung Piai Umno chief and Kukup Assemblyman
My verdict - Tanjung Piai is a grey area. Othman need to improve the chances of BN winning comfortably in his own area before harbouring any hope of becoming an MB. My last check in Tanjung Piai indicated that the BN machinery there was still kalam kabut. Othman however was said to have strong backers in KL and a lot of "resources".

Ok, going through the list again, I noticed something glaring. Front runner Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Khaled Nordin was missing. That's weird. My conclusion was therefore - the new list must have originated from KL and not JB. Why? If the list comes from JB, there is no way Khaled's name would be missing.

Hmmm....nice entertainment these MB wannabes, aren't they?

Race relations' scary future

In my last two postings about Chinese schools, I had suggested an initiative on how to solve the shortage of Mandarin speaking teachers here -  A plea to young Chinese school graduates
and expressed my worries about the future of the schools here - Racial extremists endangering Chinese schools.
Probably it seems weird to many that a non-Chinese, like me should be so concerned about the Chinese schools. Especially that I'm not a former student of such schools and can't speak a proper word in Mandarin.
I had written about my support for Chinese schools in my previous postings. You can find them here - Chinese schools.
The reason for my support for the Chinese schools is simple - some of my best friends are former students of those schools. None of them are more racists than my other friends from sekolah kebangsaan. All are decent people. For me, the country's Chinese education system is a unique aspect of this country's overall education system. It's part of this country's heritage and should be preserved. As for unity, it should be nurtured, instead of forced (such as by closing those schools).

Ok, back to my last two postings on the Chinese schools, they seems to have attracted the attention of  書 政 shuzheng , a Chinese blogger, who writes mostly in English.
You can read his/her latest posting on the Chinese school issue here Pig Pure Shiite, Amok in the Sty.
These are two paragraphs from that article which made direct reference to me -

"There is of course this ‘brilliant' solution – temporary hire – that MOE officers throw up each time teachers are needed quickly. But, without an existing pool of hanyu teachers, there would be no takers naturally whether the positions they offer are temporary or permanent. BigCat’s bellyaching about there being no no-takers showed not only her gullibility and ignorance into the situation. But it especially revealed her Malaiyoo stupidity (such as believing in Anwar Ibrahim in her halcyon days)."

" One call (BigCat) made out to Chinese school graduates to join the teacher-force was typical of Malaiyoo mentality – appealing to race loyalty. Worse for it, teacher availability is treated like Campbell bean production from a factory. Press the button, machine comes alive, more beans.
These bloggers… so naive. Where did they go to school?"

I'm actually bringing up shuzeng's response here to highlight the hardening stance of  ultra-Chinese such as the blogger towards the BN government. Well, the way shuzeng writes, I don't think he/she minds too much if I describe him/her as an ultra-Chinese.
As was mentioned in that article, the problem with the shortage of teachers at Chinese schools started years ago. Why then the scheduled Save Chinese Education rally is to be held only now? With the support of DAP? With the general election around the corner?
Is the rally really about saving Chinese education or is it about flaunting Chinese political muscle?
Will the rally help solve the shortage of Mandarin speaking teachers at Chinese schools?
Based on the language used, I don't think my support for the Chinese schools and suggestion on how to solve their problem are appreciated at all by Chinese individuals such as shuzeng.
But really, if graduates of Chinese schools themselves are not interested to return and teach at their own schools, what do you expect from the incompetent Malaiyoo teachers? Want them to master Mandarin some more....sheeesshh....and then blame Umno, blame MCA, blame the government....will all the blaming around increase the number of Mandarin speaking teachers in those schools?
Well, I'm fine if the likes of shuzeng think that my suggestion was typical of Malaiyoo stupidity. Just that it's too bad if the rest of the Chinese community share the same attitude as the end result I'm quite sure will be the vanishing  middle ground of race relations in this country.

DAP's Chinese back-up plan

DAP's latest moves which seems to be veering towards the Chinese community's far right could very well be early signs that Pakatan will soon no longer be as we know them.

The three latest major moves by DAP were -
1. their insistence that they are more Chinese than MCA during the debate between Guan Eng and Soi Lek. It was Guan Eng who insisted for the debate to be in Mandarin,
2. spearheading the anti-Lynas demonstration which was the first ever of its kind in recent memory dominated by Chinese protesters and backed by Chinese-own media,
3. declaring open support to the upcoming Dong Jiao Zong's Save Chinese Education rally which bring back the memory of the infamous Operasi Lalang of the mid-1980s.

Perhaps DAP, which I always believe to be smarter than their Pas and PKR friends have seen the writing on the wall - that they are not likely going to take over Putrajaya in the coming general election.

The non-Chinese voters are coming back to BN. That's a fact which they cannot deny. My simple calculation is that, at the moment, BN is almost certain to win a simple majority in Parliament. A huge final push and no more major screw-ups will make it not impossible anymore for the coalition to get back their two third majority.

So, the next best thing DAP could do with such an outcome in sight was to get as many seats as they can by capitalising to the max their current popularity among the Chinese.

Thus their clamouring of late on how Chinese they are, including of course how they love the Chinese education system, which was actually eradicated by their parent-party PAP of Singapore from that island republic.

It's quite obvious that DAP's Malay friends in Pas and PKR are losing ground. Kelantan, for instance may still be under Pas rule after the next general election, but the hard work by Mustapha Mohamad and friends may likely reward Umno with a lot of parliamentary and State seats from there this time around.

In Johor, where I am more fimiliar with, I can say for certain that the Malay elements of Pakatan will be wiped out. Johor DAP knows this and are now currently shifting their strategy by concentrating their efforts more in areas with large number of Chinese voters.

Their insistence on contesting in as many constituencies with large number of Chinese as possible, is an indication that they know that their Pas and PKR friends could not be counted on to deliver the goods. They definitely do not want to waste areas such as Gelang Patah with 52 per cent Chinese voters by giving in to the likes of that hapless Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng.

Whatever it is the outcome of the next general election, I am quite sure DAP will win a strategic victory, riding on its Chinese racialist back-up plan. This DAP's victory will however be at the expense of the Chinese community's long term interests and the country's race relations.

Johor BN battle ready

Johor BN's preparations for the coming general election are going smoothly. This was acknowledged by both PM and DPM when they were in the State last week.

Najib seems to be satisfied with Johor's BN efforts after briefed on the situation on the ground during his meeting with the State Umno leaders at Tanjong Puteri Resort, Pasir Gudang on Saturday.

Muhyiddin had several days earlier said Johor BN chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman is doing the right   thing with his overall strategy and personal visits to the peti-peti undi areas. Such an endorsement from his old Muar High School classmate should mean a lot to Ghani. Muhyiddin made the statement while visiting Kulai is black area.

Kulai Umno division chief Datuk Adam Hamid, who is a close ally of Muhyiddin, should get the message, I guess. From what I heard, Adam does not think too highly of Ghani's strategy. Hopefully, he will change his mind after what Muhyiddin said that day.

As it is should be with everyone else in the party, the main thing now is for BN to win the election. The internal struggle and huge egos should be set aside for now. All the ships must sail in the same direction. Otherwise they will be picked off one by one by the enemies.

For those who wants so much to become the next Johor Menteri Besar, there is no need to be over enthusiastic about it. Work to win the election first. Rest assured that Ghani is retiring. He had repeatedly made his intention known to everyone, including Najib himself. I personally wish that he gets to retire.

The MB's job is definitely not easy if it is to be done properly with integrity and sincerity. It is not a lubok of riches where one and one's cronies could use the power to get what ever they want. It's a job where the rakyat's interests need to be protected from all those hungry wolves who don't care about anything but their own tembolok. I pray that the next Johor MB is not one of those wolves himself.

BTW, Ghani's visits to the peti undi areas is at its final lap. Of all the critical areas, Tanjong Piai is the only one to be completed. Nonetheless, I heard a lot more works were to be done such as follow-ups of those visits and continous monitoring and adjustments on the ground.

Whatever it is, I think Johor BN will be ready once Najib set the date of the general election.

My perdiction of the outcome is that except for DAP which may win a few seats in areas such as the Chinese-majority Kulai, the rest of the Pakatan people in Johor will be wiped out....that is if everyone in Johor BN could from now on concentrate their energy on winning the election instead of trying to kill each other off to further their personal interests.

One last thing, feedbacks from the ground indicate that BN stands a good chance to get back the only parliamentary seat in Johor currently in Pakatan/DAP's hand - Bakri.

A bit on Shahrizat, Irda and a poor little girl

Not been posting anything for the past few days. The recently acquired old netbook really kaput already. I'm back in a cybercafe. Also on the road again. Hard to write too long. A bit a bit can la. Too noisy. The kid sitting next to me is playing a noisy shoot-em-up game.

Ok, what's been happening....

Shahrizat is leaving the Cabinet. Her husband charged. Guess that's take a lot of sting off the Pakatan's NFC attack. Suddenly I don't think the millions worth that much anymore. Really not worth it la. Too bad Shahrizat didn't seize the earlier opportunity of becoming an all self-sacrificing Wanita Umno chief. Would have been better that way. This one was a bit late....Well, beter late than never.

Earlier, the PM's visit to Johor on Friday and Saturday last week was quite successful. Everything went relatively smooth. The best function was the dinner gathering at Sutera Mall in the DAP's hotbed of Skudai which was attended by thousands of Chinese.

As for the PM's other functions on that visit, I think the Iskandar Malaysia showcase could have been better. The story about it, which made it to the front page of most newspapers the next day was actually an old story, already known by most people in Johor. Nothing new really. The usual billions of investments here and billions of investments there. All been told already what. But I guess it needed to be showcased anyway to the rest of the country. Made nice headline, I guess....oh, there were also those advertorials articles....must be quite expensive. So...suka hati lah....just that I wished Irda didn't spend that much money organising the whole thing just to tell an old story. Should had came up with better ideas or spend the sum on something more meaningful. My estimates of the cost of the whole telling an old story thing was around RM1 million.

Then, there's that missing five-year-old girl in Masai, Johor whose charred remains were identified yesterday. Poor little Nadirah. May Allah place her in heaven's safe embrace....

Hopefully the monster/s who committed the heinous crime pays for it here on this earth too. He/she will definitely pay in the afterlife. Parents, please take good care of your children. Keep them safe.

Ok, need to rush off now...until next time.,,,

A plea to young Chinese school graduates

My friend dropped by in JB last night to see me on her way to Singapore.

This is my friend I had previously written about here...What a DAP girl want

Yup, the very same pro-DAP girl who wanted Guan Eng instead of Anwar Ibrahim as the next PM.

We had dinner at an expensive Japanese restaurant in Taman Pelangi. Her salary is twice bigger than mine, so, she was the one who paid for it.  Very nice dinner leh.

Ok Ok, I know the pictures look different. Of course those are not her real pictures. You all think I'm crazy ka want to put my friend's real pictures here? The pictures I put here are actually the closest I could find which resembles her. Last time she used to have this eye make-up which made her eyes look so big. Last night however she looked normal.

Anyway, as usual we talked about politics.

Being a Chinese and passionate DAP supporter, she enjoys my feed-backs, particularly because I seems to be a rather liberal non-Chinese. Probably it's no fun to talk to fellow DAP gang all the time as they will just agree with one another.  With me, my views from her differ but I do not hantam her too much for her political stand as I understand her background and the reasons why she dislikes the BN government.

And as usual, she complained about things such as what she described to be the discrimination against the Chinese community, corrupt BN government, stupidly arrogant Umno people, useless MCA guys etc etc. I just let my friend go on and on, except interrupting her here and there a bit to explain my side of pro-BN argument. Just the usual DAP-BN ding dong. No need to elaborate on those lah.

Ok, the one I am really interested about what my friend told me last night was the shortage of teachers at Chinese schools. I understand why she got quite agitated about the whole thing. She is a Chinese school graduate and was passionate about it.

I had read somewhere about the issue....about the United Chinese School Committee's Association (Dong Zhong) accusing the government of purposely assigning teachers who are not fluent in Mandarin to teach in Chinese schools and thus being dishonest about solving the shortage of teachers at those schools.

I even heard that Dong Zhong is even planning to hold a huge demo soon on the issue. Something like the DAP-led Lynas demo in Kuantan that day.

It just so happened that several days earlier, I met a friend, who is a high ranking official in the Education Ministry and we happened to talk about the Chinese school issue.

He explained that the government had since last year revoked a requirement which made it a must for anyone who want to be a teacher , including those to teach at Chinese schools to score a credit in Bahasa Malaysia of the SPM. This is so because many Chinese school graduates didn't do well in that subject.

The revocation of that requirement however didn't do too much good to the enrollment of teachers trainees from among Chinese school graduates.

"There are simply no takers," my Education Ministry friend said.

"We got no choice but to send those Malay teachers who are not well verse in Mandarin to the Chinese schools to help overcome the shortage of teachers there," he added.

If he is telling the truth, I think Dong Zhong could do well to plead to Chinese school graduates to apply to be teacher trainees to help their schools overcome the shortage instead of having to endure the government's "lack of sincerity" in overcoming the issue as it keep sending Malay teachers instead.

Of course I am not asking people like my friend, the DAP supporter, to quit her well paying job to become a teacher at a Chinese school. That's asking too much, despite her having a degree in education from a very prestigious Taiwan university. The pay of a teacher is pittance compared to her salary.

I am instead just asking for the younger Chinese school graduates who just started life to consider becoming a teacher instead of aspiring to set up a beauty saloon or automobile workshop.

I know, even selling pirated DVDs can earn more than being a teacher but this is for the sake of the Chinese community. A sacrifice most noble. You may not become rich like your friends, but you will earn the respect of your community.

Rais and gang should do better (UPDATED)

Lodging a police report over such a silly thing....now I am seriously thinking that PM DS Najib Razak need a new Information Minister.

ORIGINAL POSTING

There seems to be a bit of rumblings over the past few days among pro-BN bloggers over an allegation that a PM's media adviser and a young PMO officer saying bad things about them.

When I heard about it, I was a bit miffed for a moment. Then, I was like errrrr....so what? What's the big deal?

I thought blogging is for those who want to write about what ever hell one wants. It's not about pleasing anyone else. People like to read our blog , then nice la. Don't want to read, ok also. PMO said our blog are crap...SO? BIG DEAL IS IT?

I don't think so. At least that's the way I see it.

Then again, I am new in this blogging thing. Not even six months yet.

For one, I really don't understand the obsession of some who want to be the No 1 blogger in Malaysia. You all getting paid for that ka?

Hmmm...maybe you do, but, what's the fun in writing with such a motive? It's like having sex but knowing you are just a prostitute being used for other's gratification. The money may be good but can you sleep at night ka? I know, I can't.

Well, if people give you money so that you can earn a living and operate your blog for the good of all....then, ok la. I can understand that. But to take payment to write fallacies...????...and threatening people with our writings so that they pay us....???? That's vile man.

A prominent blogger actually called me this morning and told me not to believe in that allegations against the PM's people.

Considering that this handsome guy normally only wakes up about noon and today he was making a call so early in the morning just to caution me about such nonsense, means the whole thing could be quite serious. Well, my man, no worries, because I honestly don't give a crap about such thing.

I am actually blogging just because it's fun as I can write whatever I want and I don't have to worry about pleasing anyone. Even if the main man Najib himself said my blog is a load of crap, I would not be offended. In fact, I will be happy because the PM took time to read my blog even though he summed it up by saying its crap. One man's crap is another man's manna, isn't it?

It's however different if you are running a TV station, especially if the station is funded by the government. That one you must do properly because it is not your private property like a blog. Cannot simply simply one. Must make sure the ratings are good, improve viewership from time to time, put in quality programme, etc etc.

That bring us back to the thing that sparked the whole allegations against those PM's people.

From what I understand, those guys from PMO highlighted how private tv stations performed much much better than the government-owned RTM during some Cabinet meeting. It caused great embarrassment to our very intellectual Information Minister Rais Yatim. The man sacked his press secretary immediately after. Why he did that is beyond me.

Later on, some pro-BN bloggers (or is it just one guy?) started posting not very nice things about those PM's people accusing them of running down fellow pro-BN bloggers. Hmmmm....guess it's an attempt to instigate everyone to attack the PM people la....tsk tsk tsk

Well, why la have to be like that. What? Pro-BN bloggers are so easy to be manipulated ka? I personally don't think so.

Anyway, I'm more or less operating alone down here in JB. So, I'm immune to such tricks as I'm not beholden to anyone.

Well, some senior bloggers, do help promote my blog of which I am very appreciative (honestly, I don't know why such big time fellas like them want to promote my insignificant anonymous blog). Other than that, I'm as free as a a bird...hehehehe.

Ok, as for Rais and his band of people, really la....I think you all really not good at all, ok?  Let's not even look at the figures as compared to Media Prima and Astro. Just switch on RTM and you know the channels sucks.

Sorry, RTM people, it's a fact. Too bad that the people who supposed to lead you all do not know how to do their job.

The channels don't look any different from those days when I watched Bintang RTM as a kid. Ok, now got color lah, last time black and white....that's about it. And man....those RTM-made entertainment programme featuring some makchik-makchik and pakchik-pakchik singers are simply awful lah. And the props really look like some pelamin from the 1970s. Where got people use those lampu kelap-kelip anymore for props of a national tv programme.

The smart local government of Gorontalo

I am quite sure the "all women party" which I proposed in my last posting will not be too harsh with the men folks once they come to power. Well, at least the upheaval that follows will not be as bad as if Pakatan win the next general election la.

I am quite sure they would not be going around castrating wayward husbands and boyfriends. Just maybe put them on a tighter leash only ...maybe.

The most is that they may do things like in this story, just to prevent men from bullying women too much -

AFP
Friday, Mar 02, 2012
GORONTALO, Indonesia - Thousands of male Indonesian civil servants had their monthly pay transferred to their wives' bank accounts this week in a bid by a local government to stop men having affairs.
The Gorontalo administration on northern Sulawesi island issued the recommendation early this year to its 3,200 civil servants, saying it would help control funds usually spent on mistresses.
"Men are usually unable to control their behaviour if they have too much money in their pocket," government spokesman Rifly Katili told AFP.
"I'm pretty sure this will eliminate the possibility of love affairs that undermine families."
About 90 percent of the workers are voluntarily taking part in the initiative, Katili said.
"This kind of initiative will also empower the employees' wives to learn about household budget management," he said.
Katili said many wives had complained to the governor that their husbands withheld how much they earned, typically between one and four million rupiah ($110-$440) a month.
Katili did not know how many civil servants had cheated on their wives.
"Unfortunately, we never researched that."

Ok, maybe we can also modify the NEP so that women have a percentage ownership quota of the country's wealth. I wonder how much of this country's wealth now belong to women....must be a bit only considering the large number of terrible men in this country.

Men are bastards

I'm putting aside for now the DAP's Lynas radioactive Chinese scare crap. Quite a few postings on it already. If there are still those who can't get it what Guang Eng gang really want out of the thing, then it's none of my business anymore. Saving the environment my ass la Guan Eng.

Well, want to write about other things also leh.

Ok, last night I watched this very good movie.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Gripping like hell.

It stars the beautiful beautiful beautiful Rooney Mara.

Mara was nominated for Best Actress during the recent Acadamy Award for her portrayal of the character Lisbeth Salander in the movie but didn't win. Too bad since she was so damn good as that character. Watching the movie, I almost wished that I'm a lesbian....go and watch it (try to find the uncensored one) and you will know why I said that.

The movie is an adaptation of a novel. Here is the background from Wikipedia -

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original title in Swedish: Män som hatar kvinnor – "Men Who Hate Women") is a crime novel by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson. It is the first book in the trilogy known as the "Millennium series".
At his death in November 2004, Larsson left the three unpublished novels that make up the trilogy. They became posthumous best-sellers in several European countries as well as in the United States.

Actually, the movie leaves me with the impression that men are all bastards.

They will cheat and abuse at the expense of their women whenever they have the opportunity. Every single one of them....including the pious holy ustaz types.

But I don't blame men for being bastards, because I think they were born weak with such characteristics..

The fault actually lies with women if they let themselves be conned by men.

We know that men are natural-born bastards yet we let them do all that kind of nonsense to us, so who's to blame?

Ok ok, I know, life is more complicated than that....but seriously, for goodness sake women, stand up to your men lah. Don't let them push you around too much, ok?

Now, come to think of it, why don't all women in Malaysia set up their own party.

Parti Wanita Malaysia (ok, the name can be changed later to something more cool) which is exclusively for women.Half of the population are women what. What's wrong with that?

The other parties were in fact set up along similar categorized population  percentage :
Umno, Pas - about 55 per cent Malay Muslims

DAP, MCA, Gerakan  - about 28 per cent Chinese
MIC, PPP and such - about 10 per cent Indians
Then there are all those Sabah and Sarawak parties which were formed based on ethnic line.

I seriously think an all women party will do good for this country. At least we can break away from that racial thing. I don't think a gender-based party is all too bad.

Women tend to be less corrupt, more responsible and passionate about getting the best for this country.

Wanita Umno, for instance are the backbone of the party (too bad its current chief is Shahrizat lah....sometimes I think she looks like a man). They do the donkey but crucial works. Campaigning from door to door are mostly done by them. All those lousy menfolks, especially the Pemuda Umno are mostly only good at lepaking at the kedai mamak. Talk talk only la....jockeying for party posts la, getting contracts la, getting new wives la etc etc.....true isn't it? Ok Ok, I'm exaggerating....some of the Umno men are good people, but really la, given the chance, they too want to do that kind of nonsense too.

Eh, the Pakatan men also don't try to fool people, ok? You all are bastards too. Just look at the much suffering Wan Azizah. You really think that she don't know that's really her husband in the video ka? Come on la. Who are we trying to bluff? Just imagine the pain she has to endure for that.

Then there's Elisabeth Wong. Aiya, that boyfriend of her har....after had his pleasure, still want to take pictures some more. Really kinky bastard. Get her in trouble only. Poor girl.

Then there's all those PKR ustaz types like Badrul Amin....got two/three wives still got in trouble like that.

Oh, you all remember the sad story of this very beautiful Chinese Cambodian lady and her two children?

This one is the work of a super pious Kelantan Pas leader. Really shameful lah.

Eh, the non-Malay men are also not that much good either ok? There was of course Dr Chua Soi Lek (at least he own up). And DAP men also not that much good either. I know a very sordid story about one of their leaders, but was sworn to secrecy. You all want to think I'm bluffing go ahead la but DAP girls in Penang know la about this story.

Indian men also got such nonsense you know. Last time got DP Vijendren. Still got like that one, just that we don't have evidence la. Really, sure got one. Men will always be men no matter what are their race or religion.

In conclusion, women should consider taking charge of things. You let men run your life, you will probably end up suffering over and over again.

Now, who should we get as our first president of an all women party for this country?

Teaching Pakatan MPs how to shut down radioactive plants

The guys at The Mole today came up with this rather hard to understand article -

MP blames BN for Shah Alam rare earth magnet factory

Well, at least it is hard for me to understand because the two MPs they quoted seems to be quite incoherent.

If you all can understand them then good for you all lah. But sorry ya...I don't really get what they are trying to articulate.

Ok, first there was Pas' Khalid Samad the MP of Shah Alam where the Japanese rare earth magnet factory is located.

He was quoted as saying this when asked what should be done to the plant which could and probably has turned some people of Shah Alam into mutants due to its use of rare earth raw materials -

"We cannot do anything about it. What could we do? It has been operational for years and we cannot simply stop it. This is the failure of the previous BN led government.

"The government in the past had made the mistake by approving such a plant in Shah Alam. Now we in Pakatan Rakyat are more aware and would not allow such factories to operate. Look at how we are standing up against Lynas,"

Hmmm....first the handsome YB said cannot do anything and then blame the previous BN government. So, the plant dangerous la and it's all the fault of BN...but is that all to it?

What he really meant by cannot do anything? Pakatan-led Selangor government cannot just pulled the plug ka? The plant could be as dangerous as Lynas you know. Don't want to at least investigate the plant ka and see if there is any radiation? Check first la, probably the radiation at the plant is worse than the one in Lynas.

Pakatan people kan very concerned about the environment. Why not do demo in front of the plant. Pas people can lie down on the road in front of the plant and stop the lorries coming in and out of it. Ala, like that one you all did in Perak last time. Better still if you all can get your DAP friends to lie down on the road with you....hehehehe....see la can or not. After awhile sure close down la that place. Eh, that one also I need to teach ka?

Hmmm....wonder if these charming anti-Lynas ladies are willing to join the Pas people lying down on the road to save the Malaysian environment.....what do you all think?

After Khalid, the Mole people went and interviewed the heroine of Lynas Fuziah Salleh, the MP of Kuantan. I told you all this lady blur blur you all don't want to listen and still want to get her quote, see, she just made your article even more hard to understand.

Fuziah claimed the rare earth magnet producing factory in Selangor and the Lynas rare earth plant in Gebeng, Kuantan were two separate matters.

The PKR vice president said, "rare earth element in Shah Alam factory is not radioactive as it has already been processed."

"Lynas is the rare earth ore processing plant which processes the rare earth element such as crushing and extracting it, while leaving the waste that contains radioactive. Thus the factory in Shah Alam is safe as it only involves downstream activity".

Hmmm...I wonder how the hell she came to that conclusion. Simply simply said one ka? Makchik, you check your facts properly or not? Why not you at least ask for experts to be appointed by the Selangor government to check check first the place. You as a number one environmentalist should at least demand that what. Or is it you simply tembak your facts like what you did on the Lynas issue. Experts said also you don't want to believe.

Oh, in that article, Fuziah also confirmed my suspicion that she tend to say something simply to look popular even though it makes her sounds not very intelligent and contradictory. See this -

Fuziah also took time to explain that she was not totality against the setting up of the Lynas rare earth plant but was concerned about the safety of the people and the environment.

She also denied politicising the issue.

Quite blur isn't she? Told you, you don't want to believe....sheessshhh....

DAP's east coast foothold and the blur blur PKR lady

Past midnight and still can't sleep....so I think I write a bit more on Lynas which my past few postings had attracted the interest of some DAP cybertroopers. Kinda fun reading their comments.

Ok, the whole anti-Lynas demo is purely a DAP show. That I'm certain.

PKR seems to have been elbowed out of it. Not much coverage given to them by the pro-Pakatan media.

Not even their Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh who has been making all sorts of nonsensical noises over the issue got that much space in the Chinese newspapers that day.

Even Guan Eng, doing a little jig on the issue in Penang got more publicity than Fuziah and Anwar Ibrahim combined.

Well, can't really blame the Chinese papers, Fuziah and Anwar are not Chinese. Chinese papers are meant for Chinese audience and therefore need a Chinese star. Guan Eng is indeed a Chinese star and the majority of the anti-Lynas crowd are Chinese. These are facts, ok? Nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, I do suspect that many of you do not even realised that Gebeng which is where the Lynas plant is being built is not even in Fuziah's Kuantan parliamentary area.

It's in Indera Mahkota, the only other Pakatan's parliamentary area in Pahang which MP is Azan Ismail. This guy was Pahang PKR no 2 until he resigned from the post in 2010, citing dissatisfaction with the party's management.

Azan has been quiet for so long. I can't even remember when was the last time he was in the news. The last time I met him was just a few days after he won the election in 2008. He was discussing with several other PKR people about how to get some contract jobs in Selangor.

Apparently, Fuziah is now handling PKR's affairs in both areas.

Now, how did these two PKR clowns won in 2008?

Bear in mind ya that DAP do not have much base in eastern Pahang. Prior to 2008, DAP represented the opposition in the State with their single rep in Triang. Thats in western Pahang. Now they got another one in Tras, also in western Pahang. Pas meanwhile got two State seats in Beserah and Kuala Semantan in 2008.

In 2008, Fuziah beat Fu Ah Kiow of MCA in Kuantan by getting 52 per cent of the votes, while Azan beat Salamon Ali Rizal Abdul Rahman of Umno in Indera Mahkota by getting 51 per cent of the votes.

In another words, they won by a small margin. Do also bear in mind that Beserah was the only State constituency in the two parliamentary areas which fell to Pakatan.

Clearly, Fuziah and Azan won due to protest votes by BN supporters at that time. My reading was that it was mainly the protest votes of MCA members which did the trick for them. MCA was rocked to the core when it dropped several of their highly influential assemblymen such as then Teruntum assemblyman Ti Lian Ker.

Now, with the Lynas demo being considered as a DAP's success, it would not be far fetched to assume for the party to set its sight on either Kuantan or Indera Mahkota.

Azan is almost certain to lose his seat based on his lack of performance thus far. However, my bet is that, DAP will prefer to take away Fuziah's Kuantan seat and will try to persuade her to instead move over to contest in Indera Mahkota.

If I'm Guan Eng, I will persuade Anwar to agree based on these arguments -
1. DAP need Kuantan as its foothold in the East Coast
2. Kuantan got a large number of Chinese voters who are now more partial to DAP after the anti-Lynas campaign.
3. Fuziah does not stand much chance without the MCA protest votes if she face a Chinese opponent in Kuantan this time around. Indera Mahkota got more Malays who may be sympathetic to her.
4. Since Fuziah is so keen to be the heroine of anti-Lynas, she should be in Indera Mahkota where the plant is actually located.

Knowing that DAP is now the big brother in Pakatan due to its current influence among the majority of Chinese voters, Anwar will agree to the demand....probably in exchange for DAP's help via its Chinese supporters in other places. Knowing Fuziah's blind loyalty to Anwar, she will happily agree too.

So, there you have it. The blur blur Fuziah will not even notice what's going to hit her. She will not stand much chance in Indera Mahkota as the Malay voters there, like elsewhere are now more BN-friendly.

Yup, Fuziah is that blur. Her character is what the Javanese call "ndablaek", which means she has a single tracked mind where the brain is incapable of accepting any other idea except what she had made up her mind to believe. If you don't believe me, try having a conversation with her about something profound for half an hour and you will know what I'm talking about.

BTW, I'm sticking to my stand that Lynas is really a political and not an environmental issue. I am not going to waste my time and energy trying to present environmental arguments on how safe the Lynas plant is, as I'm not in the business of educating idiots like Fuziah. Anyway, those had already been done by the experts and see lah for yourself how it affects people like Fuziah and those like her.

Totally like pouring water on yam leaves (mencurah air didaun keladi....something like that lah).

Now they want a real street protest for Lynas

Embolden by the success of the anti-Lynas demonstration in Kuantan last weekend, the pro-Pakatan organisers are planning another one.

They are so bold as to threaten the Government.

This is the story which I cut and paste from The Star on-line :

KUANTAN: Another anti-Lynas rally will be held if the Government does not shut down the rare earth refinery project in Gebeng, said the Himpunan Hijau committee which organised the first protest on Sunday.
Its chairman Wong Tack said he was disappointed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s statement that the Government had to look for a solution that would be acceptable to the people without affecting investments.
“We cannot accept his statement. Therefore, the Himpunan Hijau 3.0 rally is on – unless the project is cancelled,” Wong said at a press conference yesterday.
The organisers had called on the Government to respond within 24 hours after the Himpunan Hijau 2.0 rally ended two days ago.
Najib had said Lynas was looking for an uninhabited location to store the waste material from the plant, although it was scientifically safe.
Wong said the committee would discuss with Bersih chairman Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan on the possibility of holding a joint rally soon.

The Star, which I now believe to be supportive of the anti-Lynas campaign, however omitted a sentence from the same story which appeared on the newspaper's page 21 Tuesday edition..

Here is the missing sentence that you can't find on The Star online -

"We'll take it to the streets," Wong said at the press conference yesterday.

Star people, you all trying to tone down the story ka?

Hmmmm.....the 24-hours  warning deadline had elapsed....so, how??? Guess making noise on a padang was not good enough, eh?

Another chance to look cute, girls? Sure or not, you still want to come this time. It's going to be the real street protest leh. Sure got tear gas and water canon one. I think this time better leave it to the brave Pas' Unit Amal tough guys and the Pakatan Malays la.

DAP's victory in Kuantan last weekend

The most worrying thing about the Lynas rare earth issue to me is not the radiation risk as claimed by the pro-Pakatan demo people.

The scariest thing to me is that the whole issue seems to have developed a racial flavour on its own.

Yes, there are some Malays and other non-Chinese taking part in the demo in Kuantan on Sunday, but they were heavily outnumbered by their Chinese counterparts.

And yesterday, as I went to buy a newspaper at a shop, I noticed that all the Chinese newspapers put the Lynas story on their front page. Each splashed huge pictures of the thousands of protesters. The camera angles were such that the crowd looked really big in those pictures,  The Chinese-owned The Star followed suit. The other English and Malay newspapers however seems to shy away from doing so,

The Lynas demo in Kuantan on Sunday was really a DAP show. eventhough Anwar Ibrahim as usual tried to hijack it. Guan Eng's people came down from all the way as far as Penang to make sure it was a success.

Indeed it was a success....not in highlighting an environmental issue, but rather in proving the DAP's capability in galvanising the Chinese community's support for the party.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that the Lynas issue was at best just an excuse for the demo which in actual fact is the first demo dominated by Chinese participants. DAP had managed to convince the Chinese that they had cornered the BN government not to be harsh on them.

The Lynas demo was arguably the biggest open air public demonstration dominated by Chinese protesters since 1969.

Auntie, the only mutant in Kuantan last weekend was that funny PKR ostaz  who get caught la....and he became a mutant simply simply one. Lynas plant not built yet liao.

Cooking Lynas-style nonsense for Pengerang

Pahang MB DS Adnan Yaakob had cheekily described the anti-Lynas demo in Kuantan today as a tourism demo. Beautiful Kuantan is after-all a tourist town.

Well, Tok Nan seems to be a different kind of man than Johor MB Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman. He likes to be funny sometimes, even on serious issues.

Can't really blame the man. The Lynas demo was indeed funny - complete with a khalwat drama and everything.

I don't think if it's Ghani, he will even dignify the demo people with any comment, colourful or otherwise. All those khalwat elements would not interest him that much. He would instead let the demo people tire themselves by being stupid and continue with his work

We will probably see Ghani do exactly that now that the Pakatan gang are apparently planning to spark something similar to the Lynas thing in Johor.

The latest report that I got was that the Pakatan people are now laying the groundwork to do so in Pengerang, Kota Tinggi.

When I did this posting , A little pig oinking at our police , I was not sure where it was heading, except that it's the usual Pakatan's police bashing exercise. Only later on that I realise it's a start of a new campaign to undermine the BN government, especially in Johor.

On Friday last week, it was discovered that the Pakatan people had recruited 18 locals of Pengerang to be agents tasked with instigating the residents of Pengerang to protest against the planned Petronas RAPID pateroleum hub project. The project was expected to involve an investment of up to RM200 billion.

This Pakatan efforts is being helmed by PKR, Pas and of all people, the Johor Bar Council.

I don't know la how stupid the lawyers are, but this time they are clearly playing an open card by declaring that they are indeed pro-Pakatan.

What is also noticeable is unlike Lynas, the DAP this time is not among the Pakatan front liners on this particular issue. Quite smart of them. Pengerang is a Malay area, so, they just push their Malay balachis to do most of the dirty work. See. who said manipulation of racial sentiments is not a consideration among the Pakatan people?

I am not yet sure how they are going to angle their attack. It could be on environment or land matters. Either way, they will try to cook it up to be another national issue like Lynas.

Of course, just like Lynas, they can't stop the project but this is simply to stir up something. Johor has no real big issue, so this probably will do, so that they can have something to say during their ceramah or an excuse to initiate another publicity-attracting demo like the Lynas one. They know there is really nothing wrong with the project, but it's creating the negetive perception that matter to them.

They would never care that the RM200 billion investment of the project will generate economic growth of more than trillions of ringgit within 15 years.

They would never tell the villagers in Pengerang that by that time, their children will have lots of employment opportunities from the economic growth, and that their children would not have to go far from their hometown to get a good job.

These Pakatan people who wanted the Pengerang folks to protest against the project are almost entirely made up of outsiders. They never care that all these while, the place has been a Johor backwater, and that it is currently only famous for being the departing and arrival points of illegal immigrants via the so-called laluan tikus.

Do those people such as the suited up smarter than anyone else pricks from the Bar Cuncil really care about the mostly poor fishermen and farmers of Pengerang? I don't think so. They are just there to reap political benefit and use those whom they think could be manipulated for their ends.

The Pakatan people know they can't win in Pengerang as it is a BN stronghold, yet they will proceed trying to make an issue over the planned construction of the petroleum hub.

All that they want by creating the issue is not to protect the interests of the Pengerang folks but instead to have it to play with in projecting themselves as being people and environment friendly with the general election around the corner.

An aspiring MB and his merry men

What la this latest thing I heard about people of a certain aspiring MB behaving so unashamedly as if their boss is already certain to get the job.

Cannot wait until Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman step down first ka? Cannot wait until after the general election ka? Cheyyy....

Hey, malu you know behaving like that.

I hear this from the JCS people, ok? Not Ghani people. Ghani people had already been told not to make noise about this nonsense as they need to focus on the coming general election.

These JCS people told me that this bunch of people are already touring Kota Iskandar, telling the people there which rooms they are going to occupy when their boss become menteri besar.

They were said to have even asked for the list of JCS people so that they can determine in advance who are to go to what post to suit their "needs".

Let's not even let me begin on how these bunch of people use filthy tactics to make sure Ghani vacate the MB post so that their boss can take over. Eh, Ghani don't want the post anymore la. No need to be so gelojoh, ok?

This is the old sickness of Umno. Party members who think they are so powerful just because they are from Umno. Lebih sudu dari kuah (more spoon than gravy). These are the sorts of people who are the curse of Umno.

These are the sorts of nonsense behavior which make people who are pro-Umno but not party members got sick of Umno. Lets not even talk about the fence sitters let alone those on the other side.

I don't know whether their boss know about their behaviour but if he does, he better tell them to stop it.

I know, the PM is going to spend quite a lot of time in their area when he visit Johor next month. But they should get it in their thick skull that he is going there not to endorse their boss as the next Johor MB. He is going there because their area is classified as "grey". That means their area are in danger and the PM need to be there to bolster support for BN. Got it or not? Sheeessshhh....

Talks on the ground among Johor contractors at the moment are that, if this aspiring MB really get the job, they need to hike up the cost of their projects by as high as 100 per cent  to accommodate the demands of his machais.

I tell you....if this happened, Johor will definitely go into the longkang.  This is what I have feared all the while.

My prayers now is for PM DS Najib Razak to be strong and wise in his decision.

Please Datuk Najib,   appoint someone who can really take care of Johor after Ghani retires.

I guarantee you, if a wrong choice was made, that's the end of Johor as we know it.

Kulai is black area

If there is going to be a place where Johor BN will lose in the next general election, it should be in Kulai.

Kulai has  about 34,000 voters. It is the parliamentary constituency in Johor with the biggest percentage of Chinese voters.

The current MP of Kulai is former MCA president Ong Ka Ting.

The Kulai parliamentary constituency comprise 31 per cent Malay voters, 59 per cent Chinese and 10 per cent Indians.

There are three State constituencies within the Kulai parliamentary area.
1. Bukit Permai - 52 per cent Malays, 36 per cent Chinese and 11 per cent Indians. The seat currently belongs to Umno.
2. Bukit Batu - 30 per cent Malays, 63 per cent Chinese and 7 per cent Indians. The seat currently belongs to Gerakan.
3. Senai -  22 per cent Malays, 67 per cent Chinese and 11 per cent Indians. The seat currently belongs to DAP.

The situation in Kulai is not good at all for BN. The leadership of Umno and MCA there are in disarray while their machinery in a state of paralysis. Only Gerakan, led by its Bukit Batu assemblyman Cheong Chin Liang seems to be doing some serious work. Kulai Wanita Umno also seems to be trying their best but they were hampered by a lackasadical attitude among division leaders.

It is understood that Kulai Umno leaders are currently jockeying for the single state seat allocated to them in Bukit Permai. Up to four leaders from the division were said to be lobbying the party leadership in Kuala Lumpur to be the Umno candidate there for the coming election.

Pas' presence there may be small and Umno likely to retain the seat, but the probability of Malay votes going to the opposition for the parliamentary seat from Bukit Permai will be quite significant in the overall scheme of things.

Even in Bukit Batu, the hardworking Cheong is struggling to keep things together for BN, especially among his Chinese constituents. It is going to be a 50-50 chance for BN in Bukit Batu as DAP is expected to field a strong candidate there.

It will be even more difficult for BN in Senai with its 67 per cent Chinese voters. MCA, which was supposed to field a candidate there are really handicapped with Ong Ka Ting hardly bothered to be in his area now that he knows he is already out of power in MCA and not going to defend his Kulai seat.

As for the Kulai parliamentary seat, DAP is expected to field their biggest gun, State opposition leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau who will also be defending his Skudai state seat. Any MCA candidate fielded there is expected to be blown out of the water by Dr Boo if Kulai BN do not get their act together.

The situation was made even worse by the refusal of the Kulai Umno division leaders to work with the party's State liaison committee which were trying hard to coordinate with the grass-root leaders in defending, especially the Kulai parliamentary seat. As far as Umno leaders in Kulai are concerned, all that matter to them is the single Umno seat of Bukit Permai.

It was quite sad, especially for grass-root members who are worried over the situation yet were hopeless to do anything because their leaders are only interested to further their own agenda.

It is understood that BN number two man Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is coming to Kulai at the end of this month to see for himself the situation there. Hopefully he will talk some sense into the ears of Kulai BN leaders, especially those from Umno.

Guan Eng's little mischief on Dr Boo and Jui Meng

When appeal by MCA-reject-turned-PKR Johor chief Chua Jui Meng to contest his former constituency Bakri was snubbed by DAP handsome poster boy Lim Guan Eng, everyone seems to think that Guan Eng got something serious against Jui Meng.

I believe most of you had already read an article in the MCA's pro-DAP The Star on the matter several days ago which pointed towards that conclusion.

The truth is, except for Jui Meng being formerly an old enemy, Guan Eng actually doesn't think much of the man. When Anwar Ibrahim put Jui Meng as PKR chief in Johor, Guan Eng probably had a very good laugh.

It just confirmed the fact that PKR have no one else to lead them in the State and that Johor PKR will have to kow tow to Johor DAP if they want to achieve anything. The same way that Johor Pas is now beholden to Johor DAP.

Case in point was the Tenang by-election where the Pas lady candidate received less than 3,000 votes of which more than half of them were from pro-DAP voters in the Labis Tengah ballot area which were made of about 93 per cent Chinese.

It is not a secret that in Johor, the only real problem faced by BN is the perceived dissatisfaction of the Chinese community.

All BN's black or grey areas are those with over 45 per cent Chinese voters. This was largely due to the constant harping about the Chinese community being victimised in this country by none other than DAP leaders.

In all honesty, there are no real big local grass-root issues in Johor which had not been handled by the State government.

Ok, there are questions about Lim Kang Hoo, JCorp, Medini, Kulim and such, but those are not what will swing votes to BN or Pakatan in large number. In the first place, were the allegations true? How many of the ordinary reasonable men and women out there really care about those corporate wheeling and dealings? How many seats in Johor will BN lose because of those question marks?

What? In Pakatan's states got no such question is it?

For those who don't believe me, please try to walk around in down-town JB and befriend a Chinese guy. Then ask him what is his main grouse against BN. I bet he will not say it's KPRJ doing business with Lim Kang Hoo. He will instead most likely say that he is not happy because last night some DAP people told him that Malay enforcement officers (who are likely members of that evil Malay Umno) have this very bad habit of throwing innocent Chinaman out of window of tall buildings.

Never mind, lets get back to Guan Eng and Jui Meng. Let me repeat this - Jui Meng and Johor PKR are NOTHING without the support of Johor DAP. They do not even have a proper election machinery in Johor.

Jui Meng will lose if he contest in any area without DAP's help. That's a fact. The only place he stands a chance to stand on his own two feet is in his old constituency of Bakri in Muar where some of his old MCA supporters are still loyal to him.

Guan Eng know this and when Jui Meng made his intention known that he wants to go back to his now DAP-held Bakri, he seized the opportunity to teach the Johor Pakatan people two lessons -
1. DAP is the supreme leader of Pakatan in Johor
2. The Lim family are the ones who calls the final shots in DAP, even in Johor.

Everyone should by now know about the lesson number one.

But lesson number two is what is even more important to Guan Eng this time.

He need to tell off the hugely popular but independent-minded Johor DAP chief  Dr Boo Cheng Hau that not being a Lim disqualifies him from being a real major player in the party.

It is known by everyone that Dr Boo has had his run-ins with Guan Eng and his Johor-based proxies. So far Dr Boo seems to hold his ground against Guan Eng as far as Johor-related matters were concerned.

However, it so happened that Dr Boo and Jui Meng are not the best of friends either.

Initially, Jui Meng had wanted the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat which in 2008 was contested by PKR.

This spectacularly pissed off Dr Boo as his Skudai constituency is within that parliamentary area and he had worked hard to increase DAP's support there. Gelang Patah which has 54 per cent Chinese voters is a prime target as Kota Iskandar, the state administrative capital is located there.

It was said that Dr Boo would definitely win if he contest either his current Skudai state seat or Gelang Patah parliament seat or BOTH.

Dr Boo was so angry at the prospect of Jui Meng contesting in Gelang Patah that in September last year he refused to attend a major Pakatan dinner function near Sutera Mall in his Skudai constituency which was attended by Anwar and other Pakatan bigwigs. He repeated the snub, again at the same place last week during Johor PKR CNY gathering which was again attended by Anwar.

Jui Meng has now realised that Dr Boo may sabotage him if he press on wanting to contest in Gelang Patah. He knows that the DAP people loyal to Dr Boo are willing to do that. They would rather let BN win in Gelang Patah in order to spite Jui Meng. That was why he decided to approach Guan Eng and his people in KL to get their blessing for him to go back to Bakri.

Now, Guan Eng being Guan Eng, he decided to rebuff Jui Meng, knowing this will hugely embarrass the hapless man, who suddenly has no where to go. I can just imagine Guan Eng breaking into his trademark childish sniggering after pulling that fast one on Jui Meng.

Brilliantly, this also put Dr Boo in a rather tight spot. He is now forced to give way to Jui Meng. As Johor DAP chief , Dr Boo could not be seen as bullying a weaker PKR ally.

By right, Gelang Patah should be PKR's but most of the Pakatan's hard work there were done by DAP. Even if Dr Boo decides that he do not want to sabotage Jui Meng if he is to be the Pakatan candidate there, his people may still go ahead and sink the man, with or without Dr Boo's instruction.

Guan Eng may emerge the victor in this personal one-upmanship with Jui Meng and Dr Boo, but  what he may not realise is that Johor Pakatan may lose in both Gelang Patah and Bakri due to this little game he played.

Jui Meng may lose in Gelang Patah because of the Dr Boo's unhappiness factor while DAP may lose their Bakri parliament seat because of the unhappiness of Jui Meng supporters there.

Well, guess some people rather keep their big ego rather than using their brain. In this case good also lah, Now BN stands a better chance in Bakri and Gelang Patah. Thanks Guan Eng.

The big Chinese debate (UPDATED 3 - final take)

UPDATED 3 - final take

It was a contest between two Chinese parties for the support of  their community in a country where they are the minority. That's the bare fact which no one should dispute.

Soi Lek - He appeared to be more blunt by telling the Chinese of the dangers they face if they abandon MCA and give their full support to DAP which is an ally of Pas, an Islamic hardline Malay-based party.
However, I believe what he was really trying to tell the Chinese audience is that, DAP may win their votes but its Pakatan allies will lose, and therefore Pakatan will not win the general election to protect Chinese interests as promised by DAP.
This raise a real possibility of BN being in power without much representation from MCA and the coalition forming a government dominated by right-wing Umno which will be even less sympathetic towards Chinese interests.

Guan Eng - He tried to play the Chinese hero character and projected an image of a crusader against a corrupt and evil BN government. It's part of the usual tactic of running down the rival MCA by insinuating it as being an Umno stooge who failed to protect the interests of the Chinese despite the party being part of the government. He also stressed that DAP are more capable of standing up to its Malay allies in Pas and PKR.

Who wins?
I think Guan Eng succeeded more in asserting the DAP's Chinese character. The fact that he was the one who insisted for the debate to be held in Mandarin makes him the winner from the start on this count. However, this will have a far reaching negative implications as far as Pakatan as a whole is concerned. They will lose even more votes of the Malays and other races.
Soi Lek, in a way succeeded in this debate for being able to draw DAP into an open fight. MCA has now shown Malaysians, and especially the Chinese that they are not a totally a spent force and still needed by the community to protect their interests in this Malay-majority country.

UPDATED 2

Been searching for new thing to update this posting.
Got all excited over The Star headline just now -

Forum kicks off with a bang

By ISABELLE LAI

The report starts promisingly -

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Chinese at a Political Crossroads forum kicked off with a bang Saturday as MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek brought down the housewith his fiery opening speech.
Dr Chua appeared to be metaphorically rolling up his sleeves in preparation for his debate with political opponent, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in the evening.

And then, this is all the quote that was taken from the big bang.

"He (Lim) is more interested in issuing countless statements to condemn or challenge others, behaving like a true street fighter. He has forgotten that he has a state to look after," said Dr Chua to tumultous applause.

Yup, that's all. The rest are just the usual background stuff. Chey,  what la you all Star people. So really anti-climax leh..

I think better just wait for the debate.

UPDATED

Apparently, it was DAP's Lim Guan Eng who requested for the debate to be conducted in Mandarin.

Here is an excerpt of today's report by pro-Pakatan Malaysian Insider -

“There is nothing racial about it; it’s a national conference consisting of many topics and issues that cover all ethnic groups,” Asian Strategic Leadership Institute (ASLI) director Datuk Michael Yeoh said at a press conference here.
“It (the conference) looks at [the changing of our political structure] and concerns all issues ... (that) every Malaysian should be concerned about,” he added.
Yeoh said the debate, themed “Chinese at a Crossroads. Is the 2 Party System Becoming a 2 Race System?”, was originally to be conducted in English, but was changed to Mandarin following Lim’s request.
“Guan Eng asked, why is a Chinese topic not conducted in [Mandarin]? So we have decided the whole debate will be in [Mandarin],” Asli senior vice-president Ng Yeen Seen explained.
“The (rest of the) conference will be conducted in English, but if the floor wishes to ask questions in [Mandarin], then the speakers will use Mandarin to answer,” she added, saying that most speakers are bilingual.

ORIGINAL POSTING

As far as I am concerned, MCA macho man Dr Chua Soi Lek had already won the tommorrow's debate against DAP handsome boy Lim Guan Eng.

Why? Because Guan Eng, in his unbridled enthusiasm, had in the first place agreed for the debate being in Mandarin, which to me is a big mistake for him.

To me, he had fell into the trap of acknowledging that DAP is a Chinese party and not a multi-racial one as claimed. Soi Lek on the other hand should be ok with the language being used as MCA has no problem of itself being a Chinese-based party in a multi-racial BN coalition.

Ok, just look at the topic they are going to debate on - “Is the two-party system becoming a two-race system?”. What la Guan Eng, you want to debate on something like that in Mandrin? You sure lose one on the perception front.

Trust me, the Chinese do not want a two-race system and that is exactly why the smart MCA PR people choose the subject. In all probability, the two-race system is what we will have in this country after the next general election. The Bumiputera (and other races) on one side and the Chinese on the other. It is already happening in Sarawak, and that is exactly what DAP is banking on to win more parliamentary seats, especially in Johor. The Chinese will be at the losing end in such a system.

Guan Eng , you should had at least insisted for the debate to be in Bahasa Kebangsaan. Now you are reduced to promoting and defending the Chineseness of DAP. Very damaging liao....especially for your Pakatan friends.

Despite this debate being the hotest topic among the Chinese community at the moment, the other Malaysians do not seems to be really interested in it. It has become a Chinese thingy. They will say "Ya la, MCA are Chinese, DAP also Chinese. Let them kung fu each other lah."

Yup, just look at the way the Chinese papers and Chinese-owned Star promoting the debate and then just look at how the Malay and other English papers covering it. Very contrast.

Guan Eng cannot carrying around bluffing people that DAP is a multi-racial party anymore after this debate. That I am sure, especially as far as the non-Chinese are concerned. I know that Guan Eng is a bit childish and not so smart, but to fall into Soi Lek's trap like that, I actually feel a bit sympathetic towards him. Really, I am not kidding you.

Probably Guan Eng has now realised his mistake. That is why he has been calling for follow-up debates with Soi Lek in Bahasa Malaysia and English after this. But really la Guan Eng, it's too late already. Finish the tomorrow's debate first ok?, then talk about trying to get another date with Soi Lek for damage control. Hopefully Soi Lek will be merciful and let Guan Eng have another go.

Oh, btw, I also think Soi Lek will make minch meat out of Guan Eng at the debate. Being a more seasoned politician who knows his stuff very well, Soi Lek will be too much of an opponent for Guan Eng. Well, the last big debate Guan Eng had was with the jaded Gerakan's Koh Tsu Koon and it was more or less a draw. Koh is not even in the same league as Soi Lek. If Soi Lek can survive the sex video scandal, what lah Guan Eng  to him.
