WOMEN'S FALL 2016 KEY COLOR TREND PRESENTATION

Here is a preview of Candy Pastels, a directional color group trend for Fall/Winter 2016-17 as predicted by Trendstop. These youthful and sugary shades introduce a feel of girlhood nostalgia, recalling the milky effect of the Crayola pencils used at school.

    TRANSSEASONAL MOOD

Ideal for your first intake at the end of summer, this aspect of the Candy Pastels trend demonstrates how color is becoming much more transeasonal in fashion; the lines between seasonal intakes are blurring, and sales are starting earlier. As a result, lighter shades like these will be key for F/W16, bringing a touch of summery warmth to your deeper winter collection. We see how sweet pink, peach, lilac and mint tones look clean on spongy surfaces like neoprene, while cozy oversized knits create comfort.

    A SPORTS INFLUENCE

Candy Pastels can also be applied to collections with an activewear aesthetic, executed with simple yet contemporary shapes. Must-have pieces like tank tops, running shoes and cropped sweats are key. Apparel silhouettes can be saturated in a single pastel shade for a new take on minimal styling, while mixed color detailing adds interest in the form of contrast necklines or tactile stripe placements.

    S/S 16 WOMEN'S ORIGINAL ARTWORK

by FASHION SNOOPS

For the Spring/Summer 16 Color Bomb trend, get inspired by paint splashes, cotton candy skies, a glitch color explosion, and a pastel color palette. Within Natures Lens we dust off our magnifying glass and take a close look at the beauty Mother Nature has to offer. Tapestry Sessions merges together Penny Lane hippie formations and worldly bohemian commune inspirations.

We have compiled this information into a special report for Fashion Vignette members, courtesy of Fashion Snoops – where the full reports are available exclusively to subscribers. The full version of the trend reports are available now for individual purchase in the Fashion Vignette Trend Shop.

    S/S 16 WOMEN'S ORIGINAL ARTWORK - EDITORS' TOP PICK

    COLOR BOMB

The expressionist trend has evolved into Color Bomb. We’re still inspired by paint splashes and cotton candy skies although a glitch color explosion is also key. The color palette is more pastel than neon. All of these designs can be great bold all overs although turning them into screens is a softer, easy to wear option.

    NATURE’S LENS

Within Natures lens we dust off our magnifying glass and take a close up look at the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer. A natural color palette is used as we see imagery mimicking a micro-organism or bacteria, as well as zoomed in leaves and under water foliage. These will make great all over prints or screens as we immerse ourselves into nature’s backdrop.

    TAPESTRY SESSIONS

Tapestry Sessions is Spring 16’s world traveler trend, which merges together Penny Lane hippie formations and more worldly bohemian Commune inspirations. The divide comes through with color and placement. The Penny lane designs are much softer and more feminine as we see a floral patchwork, repeated ribbon motifs and a gradient all over design with subtle injections of a world traveler. The Commune designs are the two heavily condensed ones, as we see repeated mosaics, Aztec motifs and border designs alongside a pieced together pattern patchwork. All of these designs will make for great all over prints, although the patchwork can also be a great screen option. All of these creations are digitally designed and as always the layers are all organized so you can edit as you desire.

[ TREND + PRINT REPORT ] AARYN WEST STUDIO

Today's post [ TREND + PRINT REPORT ], is from FV print and fashion contributor AARYN WEST of Aaryn West Studio based in Los Angeles, California. Go here, to check out their website.

Below are their some of her Fall 2015 Runway Trend inspirations: Mixed Media, Geometric Stripes and Nouveau Floral along with their print backgrounds.

     MIXED MENSWEAR

There seems to be something invariably more masculine about Fall prints than in the Springtime. This patchwork mash-up of traditional menswear motifs is the perfect example of that notion. Staying within a limited color palette and keeping your print elements small will allow for maximum harmony in this mixed print trend.

     GEOMETRIC STRIPES

Clean geometric shapes are carefully arranged and layered in these densely packed stripes for Fall 2015. While it may sound a little generic at first, we find it to be quite a versatile trend. Throw a few Moroccan or African elements in for a tribal feel, or take a more optical approach for a Memphis vibe. You could even have it merchandise with your 70’s group by adding in a simple and clean daisy shape to one of rows in your stripe.

      NOVEAU FLORAL

Take a more simplified approach to your Fall floral designs, as seen here with these stylized Art Nouveau inspired motifs. One delicately detailed flower is repeated throughout the design in a simple, yet compact, layout, which keeps the eyes moving but doesn’t overwhelm the viewer. We actually see it as a subset of a larger Fall 2015 trend rooted in Interior Design, which we’ll explore further a little later on in our review of Fall collections.
