The hairstyles that will be worn in 2019

There are only a few days left to bid farewell to the year and to welcome 2019. As is often the case at this time, a great many purposes are marked to improve both personally and professionally.

To help achieve these goals and shelve everything bad, what better to start this year with a new haircut.

Actresses, singers, and models have taken advantage of these last weeks to dress up the look and get ready for the holidays.

The last? The angel Romee Strijd, who has surprised his fans with a very flattering fringe. These will be the styles that will triumph in 2019:

'Curtain fringe'

Many celebrities have fallen to this fringe in a curtain that favors the oval faces. Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin made this cut fashionable in the 70s, which is characterized by being longer on the sides and opening slightly in the center to give a more disheveled air.

The fringe can be worn with both smooth and striped hair as Alessandra Ambrosio and Belén Hostalet, or with a slight undulation to give more volume to the look.

'Bob shaggy'

In this case, it is known as bob shaggy, a half mane with texture and movement in the tips that have led Emma Stone, Alexa Chung and more recently, Emily Ratajkowski. This style is perfect for those girls who have very thin hair and no volume.

'Long bob'

It is one of the most flattering cuts for its versatility. The fury of the hairy stockings, initiated by Kate Middleton, will continue in 2019. The ideal thing is to bring the straight hair to about five fingers below the shoulders. An ideal option to get a mane with a fresh and youthful air, which can be worn with straight, curly and wavy hair.

'Pixie'

Tom Ford already warned him in his fashion show at New York Fashion Week last September. The pixie cut will be in fashion again. A comfortable style for daring girls who want to undergo a radical change of look.

'Midi' with the stripe in the middle

CFDA 2016: BEST AND WORST LOOKS FROM THE RED CARPET

On Monday (June 6) A-list fashion designers, editors, actors and models gathered at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City to celebrate this year's top talents in the fashion industry.

The so called Oscars of fashion, aka CFDA Fashion Awards, finally announced its winners: as we previously wrote Italy took home the International Award thanks to Alessandro Michele’s work at Gucci, while the late David Bowie was honoured with the Tribute Award.

One of the highlights of the night has to be Diane Von Furstenberg presenting Beyoncé with the Fashion Icon Award: the superstar took the stage in an eye-catching Givenchy outfit and made a touching speech about her family and the power of fashion.

Among the past Fashion Icon honorees we have Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.

“I feel so much love and I feel so proud right now. Thank you guys for this incredible honor. As long as I can remember, fashion has always been a part of my life. Its effect on me actually started before I was born. Most of you guys don’t know this but my grandmother was a seamstress. My grandparents did not have enough money and could not afford my mother’s Catholic school tuition, so my grandmother sewed clothes for the priests and the nuns, and made uniforms for the students in exchange for my mother’s education. She then passed this gift down to my mother and taught her how to sew.

When we were starting out in Destiny’s Child, high-end labels didn’t really want to dress four black, country, curvy girls. And we couldn’t afford designer dresses and couture. My mother was rejected from every showroom in New York. But like my grandmother, she used her talent and creativity to giver her children their dreams. My mother and my Uncle Johnny, God bless his soul, designed all of our first costumes and made each piece by hand, individually sewing hundreds of crystals and pearls, putting so much passion and love into ever small detail. When I wore these clothes on stage I felt like Khaleesi. I had an extra suit of armor. It was so much deeper than any brand name.

My mother — who’s so fabulous and beautiful and is here tonight, I love you — my grandmother, and my uncle were always with me so I could not fail. My mother actually designed my wedding dress, my prom dress, my first CFDA Awards dress, my first Grammy dress, and the list goes on and on and this to me is the true power and potential of fashion. It’s a tool for finding your own identity, expression, and strength. It transcends style and is a time capsule of all of our greatest milestones. So to my mother, my uncle, my grandma, thank y’all. Thank you for showing me that having a presence is far more than the clothes you wear and your physical beauty. Thank you for showing me to never take no for an answer. Thank you for showing me how to take risks, work hard, and live life on my own terms.

I want to say thank you to every designer who works tirelessly to make people feel like they can write their own stories. Y’all are fairy godmothers, magicians, sculptors, and sometimes even therapists. I encourage you to not forget this power you have or take it lightly. We have an opportunity to contribute to a society where any girl can look at a billboard or magazine cover and see her own reflection. Soul has no color, no shape, no form. Just like all your work it goes so far beyond what the eyes can see. You have the power to change perception, to inspire and empower, to show people how to embrace their complications and flaws and see the true beauty that’s inside all of us. These words are truly inspiring, we appreciate that she took that moment to thank all the people that worked hard to support her career. Isn't this a true Queen?

Best Dressed

Beyoncé in Givenchy

Demure, elegant, classic, costumy...call it as you want it, but this look to us is a win.

We all were expecting the next sheer embellished gown, but Beyoncé surprised all of us in a crystals-embellished Givenchy suit.

The hat is a reminder of the Lemonade's era, as well as a smart advertise for her Formation World Tour.

Fashion as a communication tool: the queen slayed again.

Elsa Hosk stole our hearts wearing a custom Naeem Khan gold jumpsuit.

This look could have easily looked messy, if overstyled: fortunately this is not the case, because at the end of the day it's not simple to deal with net, sheer patterns, metallic emebellishments and fringes at the same time!

The new Victoria's Secret angel completed her look with statement earrings, light make-up and elegant waves.

Australian beauty Shanina Shaik opted for something less flashy, as she wore a light Givenchy dress. At first sight it felt too simple for the occasion, but it is impossible to not appreciate the proportion, the silhouette, the cuts and drapes of this beautiful design. Shanina styled her outfit with a dainty necklace, which matched the triangular shaped cut-outs of the dress, Tamara Mellon sandals with clear vinyl inserts and a fur Lanvin purse.

Jessica Hart was all about minimal designs last night, as she wore a three piece silk ensemble and Alexandre Birman 'Clarita' velvet sandals.

Worst Dressed

Taylor Hill in Thakoon, Constance Jablonski in J. Mendel, Adriana Lima in Marc Jacobs

It hurts to see such beautiful women wearing expensive looks that do nothing for their figure: let's get a closer look...

First we have Taylor Hill in what we could easily describe as Granny-chic or Hamish couture: this Thakoon's design definitely needed a bit more drama.

Costance Jablonski seems to have borrowed Taylor's stylist for the night: just another beautiful design...by aprons' standards.

Last but not least one of the most beautiful models in the indutry, Adriana Lima, trapped in a Marc Jacobs suit, that simply does nothing for her bombshell figure.

MET GALA 2016 : THE RED CARPET

The first Monday of May marks an important date for the fashion industry: the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. The fanciest red carpet of the year, where guests (all personally invited by Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour, and wealthy enough to pay $25,000 for an individual ticket) are expected to dress according to a theme, that traditionally reflects the latest luxurious exhibit of the Costume Institute.

This year theme/exhibit is called “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”. An ambitious project aimed to explore the blurring line between handmade fashion and machine-made fashion: a tribute to the technological evolution of the fashion industry.

Therefore it is no surprise to see Apple as a sponsor of the event.

Honorary chairs have been reserved to Karl Lagerfeld, Miuccia Prada and Nicolas Ghesquière; the host of the night was of course Anna Wintour, while this year’s co-hosts happened to be Apple's chief design officer Jonathan Ive, Taylor Swift and Idris Elba.

All the biggest names in fashion and Hollywood gathered together in New York to strut on the red carpet, but who was the queen of the night? Which designer managed to stand out in the crowd? Any worst dressed?

BEST LOOKS OF THE NIGHT

Beyoncé in Givenchy

As you know I wasn't a fan of her naked "gown" last year, because to me it had nothing to do with the particular theme of the night. However I can't say the same about this year's latex number: I love it. It's daring, as her character, and might not feel comfortable, but the design is exquisite in my eyes. However let me state a fact: this is definitely one of those dresses that works only on specific people. Definitely not for everyone.

Zendaya in Michael Kors

This look oozes luxury from every angle: the design feels old school but the embellishment is a modern touch. The styling? A show-stopper.

Sienna Miller in Gucci

Given the night's theme, I was wondering how Gucci would have perfomed...Well, looking at this metallic gown on Sienna I would say: so good.

Katy Perry in Prada

Costumy, I agee. Especially the styling, but can we talk about the dress? It fits the theme to the bone.

Kate Hudson in Versace

As you will witness through this review, this will happen to be the only decent Versace gown of the entire event. Trust me.

Back to the dress, I like the construction and how it fits Kate, althought the styling could have been more dramatic.

Olivia Wilde in Michael Kors

Maternity style with an edge. Definitely old school in the design, but still a good choice for the gala.

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen

Finally Ms Kidman wears something we can all agree on liking. Pure elegance.

OFF TOPIC, BUT STILL GOOD

Blake Lively in Burberry

It took me a while to appreciate this: the cape brings on all the drama, but was it enough? The handcraft was beautiful, indeed this blush pink silk-organza design counts hand-dyed and sewn perspex petals. However I didn't feel the futuristic vibe.

Nina Dobrev in Marchesa

A cute and elegant look. I am sure that at a closer look the embellishment would feel amazing, however with no 'wow effects' à la Zac Posen, this gown seems more appropriate for a 'Gone with the wind' revival.

Jessica Chastain in Prada

No sign of future, just classic yet exquisite details. Besides I still have to find a blue gown that doesn't do justice to Jessica's beauty.

Lea Seydoux in Louis Vuitton

The French actress made her official debut on the MET's red carpet wearing as expected a Louis Vuitton design, as she was recently announced as the new face of the historical brand.

However, I don't even know if we can consider this a gala-worthy look, though Lea oozes class and mistery. Besides, note that this is the only decent Louis Vuitton outfit of the night.

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors

How many times have we seen this design? Many.

Luckily for Michael Kors, I am one of those who never gets tired to see it on a red red carpet.

Kate Bosworth in Dolce&Gabbana

A highly embellished look, no doubt, but I only like it from the waist-up.

Zoey Deutch in Dolce&Gabbana

A good living advertise for Dolce&Gabbana: out of theme, but it is impossible to call this not gala-worthy.

Zoe Saldana in Dolce&Gabbana

And the "Longest train award" goes to...Zoe!

Something tells me that with a shorter train, I wouldn't have paid attention to this look: not a fan, I know how to prise a drama-queen when I see one.

Taylor Swift in Louis Vuitton

So Anna Wintour spent Vogue's money to give Taylor Swift an extreme makeover, the May cover of the magazine, the title of co-host at the 2016 Met Gala...and a dress perfect for the VMA?

Not Impressed.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West in Balmain

This Balmain/Kardashian/Jenner/West affair should come to an end. I am sure that MsD would have used more flattering words to describe this circus, I will try to emulate her.

Why forcing the styling that far? To keep the focus off the clothes?

Blue contacts, a questionable make up and denim on the MET gala's red carpet: reconsider your crush on Balmain, because ther is nothing appealing here.

Kylie Jenner in Balmain

A thousand times better than Kim Kardashian, but still plain.

Plus, the entire presentation aged this young girl of ten years.

Dakota Johnson in Gucci

Dakota Johnson and the new wave of Gucci designs are a match made in heaven...but not this time, and especially with futuristic theme.

Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein

The dress is nothing special, even if I like the color on her skin. The hair represent a desperate move to make the dress feel relevant.

Emma Stone in Prada

This is a hard one, because everything looks beautiful, but I can't help myself from seeing this as a last minute design-idea.

FKA Twigs in Versace

I would have never told that this was a Donatella Versace design...because basically there is no actual design, just ideas badly mixed together.

Saoirse Ronan in Christopher Kane

Ok those fluffy feathers are giving me nightmares...especially those on the hem. Christopher Kane would never be on my favourites list.

Ciara in H&M

A questionable retro/goth styled wig and a nude tent. Nice catch CiCi.

Hailee Steinfeld in H&M

The styling is so cheap that it hurts, while the dress couldn't be less predictable.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Monse

As soon as I got a glimpse at SJP look I thought I was looking at a vintage red carpet photo. No way that this could be a recent red carpet look from the American actress. I was wrong.

I have never thought that I would say this one day, but Sarah Jessica Parker totaly failed a Met Gala's theme.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

I like Alicia Vikander for Louis Vuitton, but after seeing her awards season look, this one feels like a joke.

It fits the theme, but not the gala.
