EUROPE.....Museum Visits Recap Part Two: Les Arts Decoratifs Museum "Fashion Forward: 3 Centuries of Fashion" and "Barbie" Exhibitions!

Couture and Barbie: Collage of the "Fashion Forward: 3 Siecles de Mode" and "Barbie" Exhibitions--Les Arts Decoratifs Paris

Continuing with my EUROPE MUSEUM RECAP, here's Part 2 of my Blog. In my previous blog HERE I covered attending the "Vogue 100 Years of Style" London Exhibition as well as the "James Bond: 50 Years of Style" Exhibit in Paris. David and I were in Paris for less than 24 hours but we wanted to make sure to take advantage of the brief time we had.

Mon Dieu!--Nick Verreos at the "Fashion Forward: 3 Centuries of Fashion" Exhibition, Les Arts Decoratifs Paris

We were very excited when we found out that there were TWO fabulous fashion exhibitions in Paris and in ONE Museum: Les Arts Decoratifs. The exhibitions were "Fashion Forward: 3 Siecles de Mode" (3 Centuries of Fashion), and the "Barbie" Exhibition (enough said!). So, naturally, we had to attend!

Les Arts Decoratifs Museum, Paris France

So, let's begin with the "Fashion Forward: 3 Siecles de Mode" fashion exhibition. This amazing exhibition celebrates three centuries of fashion--from the 1715-2016. The Exhibition is a fashion designer's/fashion historian/fashionista/fashion lover's DREAM! It begins with stunning 18th Century clothing from the Louis XIV time including all the fabulous Watteau-backed gowns, elaborate brocade waistcoats, and then into the Napoleon and Empress Josephine era with the delicately gorgeous Empire gowns. The exhibition segues right into the bustle-backed fashion period and the start of modern Haute Couture with Charles Frederick Worth in the late 1800's and early 20th Century Chanel, Lanvin, Schiaparelli and so many more...

The exhibition then moved onto the 20th Century highlighting the height of Haute Couture with late 1940s/1950's designs from Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Cristobal Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain as well as the fabulous 1960's looks of Andre Courreges, Paco Rabanne, Emanuel Ungaro. When I walked into the main hall of Les Arts Decoratifs which contained these designs...I almost began to cry...

Next up was the "Barbie" Exhibition---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Barbie!--Les Arts Decoratifs Museum in Paris also had the wonderful "Barbie" exhibition, showcasing...Barbie (!), of course. The exhibit pays tribute to the iconic doll, featuring 700 versions of the doll with many different styles of Barbie fashion. I was especially excited to seeing this exhibition since naturally, I am and have always been, a big Barbie fan. Also, if you might remember, I had a very nice moment during my time on Season 2 "Project Runway" when my design won the "Barbie Challenge"...

I eventually had my own Barbie design sold all over the world. I also designed a "Malibu Barbie" look for the 50th Anniversary of Barbie celebration at the FIDM DEBUT fashion gala show. I was a bit sad that these creations/designs did not make it into the exhibition but, alas, there was enough there, to keep my attention.

HOTLINE BLING'S STYLE GAME STRONG

So, Drake has finally released the video for his summer track "Hotline Bling," and after watching of the first (of many, many!) time, the Booty Call-themed sequence did raise a few questions in my mind just like I'm sure it did with many people's... WHERE can I buy this gorgeous mock-neck gray sweater and HOW can I get my boyfriend to wear it everyday !?

Laughs.

It wouldn't be honest to say that I have been more interested and impressed by Drizzy's songwriting skills and musical intelligence (he owns both, don't get me wrong!) than by his strong style game. Let's face it, the guy can dress and good, apparently ! And, as I have recently been challenged by a friend to create actual men's Fashion content for the blog in order to widen my audience, I thought it migh be the perfect occasion to take up on that challenege and well, share a few inside tips and tricks on how to pull of Fall Fashion like you're part of the OVO dinasty…

1. Moncler's 'Maya' Lacquered Nylon Jacket
available at moncler.com, $1,150

Sometimes it takes the French to take a functional garment and make it fashionable. Moncler is one such brand ! The first time Drake appears in the video he’s sporting a shiny, cherry-red Moncler 'Maya' down puffer jacket, one of the brand's famous iconic styles. Here, rich and luxurious details combine with classic styling to make for an unmistakable jacket. Moncler jackets are now an iconic part of the European Winter sports scene and the now Italian own brand has also introduced other cold weather essentials into its menswear collection, from handmade jumpers, to kintted scarves and hats, to wools sweaters. And while there may be many equally well-established Winter sportswear brands out there, few can match the highly stylized look and appeal of pieces like the one Drake has been seen sporting in Hotline Bling.

2. Nike Jordan 23/7 'Jumpman' T-Shirt
available at Footlocker.com, $24,99

Here's a brief history round-up on the iconic white T-Shirt: the piece that now has become an essential feature in our wardrobes actually descends from undergarments worn by Navy men in the 1910's. Once bought in bulk from Kirkland and Ralph Lauren (my boyfriend still buys his in stacks!), it is now a fast Fashion staple and has, with time, gotten the likes of Fashion royalties such as Karl Lagerfeld, who layered it underneath a Chanel signature tweed cardigan, Kanye West, whose collaboration with A.P.C. sold-out faster than you could say 'Heartbreak', and, of course, HRH who styled his white t-shirt game a notch up playing once again, the 'Jumpman' game ;)

3. Nike ACG 'Manoa' Boots
available at Champssports.com, $89,99

No, no, the Timberland-esque boots seen in Hotline Bling's first sequence aren't a rare OVO collaboration... As a matter of fact, they're the way underrated (if you ask me!) Nike ACG Manoa boots, and you can cop a pair at Footlocker for about $90. Pretty cool, huh ? Although these babes aren't looking as smooth at the classic Timberland's to my taste, the Nike ACG Manoa leather boots have proven themselves to be quite the handy pair of footwear to have on hand and can handle whatever Mother Nature has up her sleeve ;) Oh, and koodos to the sick style details these boots feature; and all leather upper and high-top silhouette for a luxe look plus, a sleek Illuminati nod on the tongue. Did you notice ?

4. All-White Nike Air Max 90 Leather
available at FinishLine.com, $120,00

A pair of crisp white sneakers should always be part of your rotation no matter what season it is. With the sleek silhouette of the 90 and stellar performance you expect from Nike, these beauties have a modern-retro twist for neck-breaking style ! In Hotline Bling, Drake is basically teaching us how a quality running shoe from the early 90's has been adapted for casual wear and that, if you can pull off the look in a pair of runners, then consider yourself set.

5. October's Very Own 'Original Owl' Black Sweatshirt
available at Octobersveryown.com, $152,00

6. Acne Studios 'Jayden' Gray Ribbed Sweater
available at Acnestudios.com, $490,00

Now let's move over to the pièce-de-résistance... In the third sequence of Hotline Bling, Drizzy rocks a stunner of a piece by none other than the Swedish Fashion prodigy, Acne Studios, along with a dad beard, baggy OVO sweatpants and wheat Timberland boots. For a definite hit, I would advise you to borrow that exact head to toe look although, the mock-neck jumper itself is way covetable on its own ;) Historically speaking, Drake has been a champion of sweaters, usually the dorky, oversized ones, but in his new video he actually showed himself to be very on-trend and minimalist, which I think is a vibe that suits him quite nicely ! The Jayden knit from Acne Studios is an oversized, box-cut design constructed from a thick, linear ribbed wool fabric which happens to be bang on-trend for Fall 2015.

7. Timberland Wheat 6-Inch Waterproof Boots
available at Timberland.com, $160,00

The sleek timelessness of Timberland boots can hardly be overstated ! While there are several ways to rock your Timb's, from tight, over-the-tongue lacing to loose, invisible knot, Drake pretty much showed off everyone how to wear and style it, and just look plain awesome. Thus, the Timberland 6" boot is practically a requirement of hip-hop style, and has been since the early 90's. They're just a great way for men to dress up, due to many reasons; they are comfortable and waterproof, the materials they're made of doesn't wear out and they're easy to care after. In short, they are practical yet, stylish, and that's something everyone pretty much agreed on right away,  from NaS, to Wu-Tang Clan, to Kanye West, to the 6 God.

8. Storm Bringer Racing Leather Jacket
available at Prospeedgear.com, $243,05

As for a killer finale (and as if the Acne Studios turtleneck wasn't enough!) behold, the motorcycle jacket. This one Drake wore in the vid is a really cool spin on vintage racing jackets which, although it's referencing a 70's kinda look, falls directly in the trend book for this season. Paired with a white hoodie, black jeans and a heavy black Timb's, here's a style lesson by Drizzy on how to keep things cool and chic. #boyfriendgoals

If you want to walk the Marc Jacobs runway all you have to do is to satisfy his perverse fantasy

I am Angel Barta, fashion designer. Marc Jacobs has been stealing my ideas and stalking me for 5 years. I expose the truth about Jacobs, the manipulator of the century on my blog.

Marc Jacobs decides who become topmodels nowadays. He wants to control the entire fashion world.

18-year-old Lily McMenamy has landed her first big-name designer campaign for Marc Jacobs and all she had to do was take off her top!!!

We already know how close of a friend her model's mother Kirsten McMenamy is with Jacobs.

Jacobs felt the time had come for her Kirsten's daughter to become a model too. (By the way my full name is Lily Angel Barta....) Marc Jacobs asked me many times to do dirty photos for him. He asked me to pose topless and push up my breasts. He promised that if I'd do it he would let me be a model on his fashion show.

It seems that Lily McMenamy did the things Jacobs asked her to, as she has walked on MJ's runway. Jacobs can't stand the fact that he could not humiliate me and convince me to do those things for him. That's why he has been torturing me and stealing my ideas, using my talent for 5 years.

He is an egomaniacal person. He wants to control everything.

Kirsten McMenamy and Jacobs kissing, having fun

As for being asked to walk the runway sans-shirt, Lily  M. said she didn’t see it coming.
“First I couldn’t really believe that they were asking me to go topless, and then they were, like, ‘We’re being serious,’ and so I was, like, ‘All right. Fine,’” she said.
Then Jacobs had to explain the classy way to hold one’s breasts in one’s hands. According to Vogue:
“Marc and I talked a lot about my hand positioning. I wanted to do this.” [Lily] presses both her palms to her T-shirt. “But he said it’d be much classier with one hand. Like, ‘Oh, Mr. Produuuucer.’ I had to walk three times. When I came backstage after the first, I said, ‘Marc, was it all right?’ and he said, ‘Amazing.’ So I thought, okay, I can do it again.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 Campaign with Lily
Jacobs copied the photos of my lookbook for his Fall 2013 Campaign featuring Lily McMenamy. My lookbook came out in 2011. I was wearing my own designed Angel Barta suit on the picture.

The topless runway show wasn’t the first time Jacobs has courted controversy: In early 2012, after the Council of Fashion Designers of America asked designers to commit to a no-models-under-16 standard, he flouted their guidelines by allowing at least two 14-to-15-year-old models walk his runway. Out of the approximately fifty models he hired for his show that season, at least two were under 16, the New York Times reported: Thairine Garcia and Ondria Hardin, both believed to be either 14 or 15. Both girls were represented by the Ford modeling agency, which had stated that the company, while in favor of the health initiative, works on a case-by-case basis with the models’ parents when it comes to determining whether they’re old enough to walk the runway.

His Oh Lola by MJ ad campaign was banned in UK. It featured underage Dakota Fanning in a sexual position. The Miu Miu ads were banned in the same year. Read it here.

He told TIME of the decision. “What’s the difference between doing a commercial for peanut butter and being on a runway?” And Jacobs claimed there was no controversy in his choices: ”I was just kind of doing what I felt,” he says, adding without a hint of irony, “I don’t ever mean to be provocative.”

UPDATE: 2014 February- 18 years old Kendall Jenner (sister of Kim Kardashion) walked the Marc Jacobs fashion show in a totally sheer top.

Jacobs is obviously obsessed with naked young girls. He is proud to be the most perverse designer nowadays.

Watch his short film he did with Katie Grand for Love Magazine. ( The video features Cara Delevingne, the new 'topmodel', whose biggest supporter behind closed doors is Jacobs. He gave her all her jobs, details here.)

Have you heard that Kanye West recently stole a more than 40 years old Hungarian song?

Kóbor János the singer of Omega claimed he will sue Kanye for sampling Gyönyhajú Lány(The organs from New Slaves) and not crediting them.He already hired an international lawyer to start the confrontation. They can't sue Kanye yet because it was only played on walls and on SNL and it's not official. But if it mades the Album he promised he will step in the ring.
It's funny because the 66 buildings experience was filmed on the singer's 70th birthday.

Many people have identified the sample at use towards the end of the new track that Kanye West premiered on (almost) 66 buildings and Saturday Night Live this past weekend.
The music? A Hungarian band called Omega, who released ”Gyöngyhajú Lány” (translated as The Girl with Pearly Hair) in 1969.
Check Omega above, and listen to that section of "New Slaves" at the three minute mark below.

Kanye is a very good buddy of Marc Jacobs. They have worked together, Kanye designed trainers for Louis Vuitton. He flies all the way to Paris to watch front row every single show of his friend Marc. He even sings the songs Marc asks him to. You remember the Runaway song by Kanye, it was the idea of Jacobs, even the clip was his fantasy.

Jacobs told Kanye to steal that Hungarian song.

Marc introduced me to Kanye when I was at the dinner after his fashion show.

Kanye has tried doing his own line, he designed clothes for women and had his fashion show in Paris.

Watch me on this video where I send a message for Marc Jacobs, the Thief of the Century!

I made this video in 2012 summer. I was wearing my own designes stripped Angel Barta dress. 2 months later Jacobs designed a collection full of stripped outfits... each single outfit was stripped!
