When To Wear Ankle vs. Boots

Every woman ought to have at least one pair of boots. Once ankle booties came on to the scene, deciding between them and my always reliable knee-high boots became somewhat of a dilemma. I love boots cause they can be worn any time of the year.

ANKLE BOOTS

Booties and ankle boots were huge last year, and the trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Ankle boots, like their name would suggest, sit at or slightly above ankle-height. Though high-heeled ankle booties have been seen on celebrities and fashionistas, flat ankle boots, especially with embellishment have become increasingly popular as well.

Choose your heel height wisely. For most of us, flat ankle boots will be a more practical option than their high-heeled ones. For fancier occasions, ultra high-heeled platform booties are a stylish, showstopping option.

Whether they're flat or heeled, ankle boots and long skirts or maxi skirts are classic combinations for fall. Show off those legs by paring ankle boots with leggings, skinny jeans, or short skirts and dresses. They also look amazing when worn with tights.

Medium: Mid-Calf & Knee-High Boots

Medium rise (mid-calf and knee-high) boots are likely what you think of when you hear the word “boot.” Medium rise boots are always in style. Classic rise boots edge up summer staples like sundresses and denim cut-offs. The classics never go out of style!

Know your occasion. Classic-rise boots come in a ton of different varieties, each of which can put a different spin on an outfit. In general, slouchy and cowboy styles are more casual, while luxurious leather or suede boots, heeled or flat, provide a more formal option.

Tuck them in or leave them out. Skinny jeans tucked into mid-rise boots is definitely a fall staple. Another option, however, is to wear your boots under your favorite pair of boot-cut jeans. The result is totally chic–just a peek of the heel and toe of your boots!

Consider your calves. Classic-rise boots can hit mid-calf or just below the knee. Either way, it’s important that the boot doesn’t gape too much–it should fit snugly but comfortably around your leg. If you have athletic or curvy legs, stretchy, slouchy, or zippered styles are a great bet.

High: Thigh-High & Over-the-Knee

Over-the-knee boots are this winter’s hottest trend in shoes. They’re totally wearable no matter your height. Thigh-high boots are fashion-forward, and will definitely add some edge to your outfit. They can also look downright chic when worn with a dress or cigarette pants.

Be fearless! Though tall boots can seem tough to wear, they’re incredibly easy to pull off and can really add sophistication to an otherwise basic outfit. If you would normally wear classic-rise boots with an outfit, then thigh highs would likely look equally awesome. If you’re wearing something short, make sure to add tights or leggings since over-the-knee boots are already super sexy on their own.

Keep it simple. Because these boots attract attention, it’s best to keep the rest of your outfit simple so your boots will really make a statement. I like them without much embellishment or detailing since their rise alone makes a huge impact. If you like your boots embellished, it’s especially important to keep the rest of your look simple and go easy on the accessories.

HOTLINE BLING'S STYLE GAME STRONG

So, Drake has finally released the video for his summer track "Hotline Bling," and after watching of the first (of many, many!) time, the Booty Call-themed sequence did raise a few questions in my mind just like I'm sure it did with many people's... WHERE can I buy this gorgeous mock-neck gray sweater and HOW can I get my boyfriend to wear it everyday !?

Laughs.

It wouldn't be honest to say that I have been more interested and impressed by Drizzy's songwriting skills and musical intelligence (he owns both, don't get me wrong!) than by his strong style game. Let's face it, the guy can dress and good, apparently ! And, as I have recently been challenged by a friend to create actual men's Fashion content for the blog in order to widen my audience, I thought it migh be the perfect occasion to take up on that challenege and well, share a few inside tips and tricks on how to pull of Fall Fashion like you're part of the OVO dinasty…

1. Moncler's 'Maya' Lacquered Nylon Jacket

Sometimes it takes the French to take a functional garment and make it fashionable. Moncler is one such brand ! The first time Drake appears in the video he’s sporting a shiny, cherry-red Moncler 'Maya' down puffer jacket, one of the brand's famous iconic styles. Here, rich and luxurious details combine with classic styling to make for an unmistakable jacket. Moncler jackets are now an iconic part of the European Winter sports scene and the now Italian own brand has also introduced other cold weather essentials into its menswear collection, from handmade jumpers, to kintted scarves and hats, to wools sweaters. And while there may be many equally well-established Winter sportswear brands out there, few can match the highly stylized look and appeal of pieces like the one Drake has been seen sporting in Hotline Bling.

2. Nike Jordan 23/7 'Jumpman' T-Shirt

Here's a brief history round-up on the iconic white T-Shirt: the piece that now has become an essential feature in our wardrobes actually descends from undergarments worn by Navy men in the 1910's. Once bought in bulk from Kirkland and Ralph Lauren (my boyfriend still buys his in stacks!), it is now a fast Fashion staple and has, with time, gotten the likes of Fashion royalties such as Karl Lagerfeld, who layered it underneath a Chanel signature tweed cardigan, Kanye West, whose collaboration with A.P.C. sold-out faster than you could say 'Heartbreak', and, of course, HRH who styled his white t-shirt game a notch up playing once again, the 'Jumpman' game ;)

3. Nike ACG 'Manoa' Boots

No, no, the Timberland-esque boots seen in Hotline Bling's first sequence aren't a rare OVO collaboration... As a matter of fact, they're the way underrated (if you ask me!) Nike ACG Manoa boots, and you can cop a pair at Footlocker for about $90. Pretty cool, huh ? Although these babes aren't looking as smooth at the classic Timberland's to my taste, the Nike ACG Manoa leather boots have proven themselves to be quite the handy pair of footwear to have on hand and can handle whatever Mother Nature has up her sleeve ;) Oh, and koodos to the sick style details these boots feature; and all leather upper and high-top silhouette for a luxe look plus, a sleek Illuminati nod on the tongue. Did you notice ?

4. All-White Nike Air Max 90 Leather

A pair of crisp white sneakers should always be part of your rotation no matter what season it is. With the sleek silhouette of the 90 and stellar performance you expect from Nike, these beauties have a modern-retro twist for neck-breaking style ! In Hotline Bling, Drake is basically teaching us how a quality running shoe from the early 90's has been adapted for casual wear and that, if you can pull off the look in a pair of runners, then consider yourself set.

6. Acne Studios 'Jayden' Gray Ribbed Sweater

Now let's move over to the pièce-de-résistance... In the third sequence of Hotline Bling, Drizzy rocks a stunner of a piece by none other than the Swedish Fashion prodigy, Acne Studios, along with a dad beard, baggy OVO sweatpants and wheat Timberland boots. For a definite hit, I would advise you to borrow that exact head to toe look although, the mock-neck jumper itself is way covetable on its own ;) Historically speaking, Drake has been a champion of sweaters, usually the dorky, oversized ones, but in his new video he actually showed himself to be very on-trend and minimalist, which I think is a vibe that suits him quite nicely ! The Jayden knit from Acne Studios is an oversized, box-cut design constructed from a thick, linear ribbed wool fabric which happens to be bang on-trend for Fall 2015.

7. Timberland Wheat 6-Inch Waterproof Boots

The sleek timelessness of Timberland boots can hardly be overstated ! While there are several ways to rock your Timb's, from tight, over-the-tongue lacing to loose, invisible knot, Drake pretty much showed off everyone how to wear and style it, and just look plain awesome. Thus, the Timberland 6" boot is practically a requirement of hip-hop style, and has been since the early 90's. They're just a great way for men to dress up, due to many reasons; they are comfortable and waterproof, the materials they're made of doesn't wear out and they're easy to care after. In short, they are practical yet, stylish, and that's something everyone pretty much agreed on right away, from NaS, to Wu-Tang Clan, to Kanye West, to the 6 God.

8. Storm Bringer Racing Leather Jacket

As for a killer finale (and as if the Acne Studios turtleneck wasn't enough!) behold, the motorcycle jacket. This one Drake wore in the vid is a really cool spin on vintage racing jackets which, although it's referencing a 70's kinda look, falls directly in the trend book for this season. Paired with a white hoodie, black jeans and a heavy black Timb's, here's a style lesson by Drizzy on how to keep things cool and chic. #boyfriendgoals

Marc Jacobs is a real Godfather behind his sweet funny Sponge Bob mask... He has been stealing my ideas, pressuring and torturing me for 5 years.

So how is that possible, that a fashion designer, called Marc Jacobs is secretely controlling so many things other than just designing in the fashion industry... he decides which models are the supermodels, who gets the best campaigns and editorials.... He controls Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Kanye West.

Let me share some interesting information with you....

You may know that Marc works for his own line and for Vuitton, but what you may not know yet, is that he has an affect at many other brands too. He decides what will be the trend at Miu Miu, Prada and many other brands also... he gives MY ideas, WITHOUT my permission for many brands...

You may ask how is that possible?

Well, there is a woman, called Katie Grand she is the long time friend, supporter, collegue of Marc J. She is the editor of many magazines such as LOVE, POP, she is a stylist at many big campaigns, such as Dsquared, HM, Dolce Gabbana, she designes for Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, MJ, Prada, Topshop, Giles, Nina Ricci ( the ex right hand of Marc J., called Peter Copping is the new creative director of Nina Ricci, he got the job thank to Marc, so he copies my ideas, without a word)
With the help of Katie Grand, my unique ideas and style has spread to many brands... They copied the backgrounds, feeling, atmosphere, place, colours, lights, poise of my photo.... for many Vogue editorials and ad campaigns.

So how come that Marc Jacobs a fashion designer is the most influental model maker today?

Well, the answer is quite simple. He has been working in fashion for more decades. He knows everyone, he has contacts and friends at every big fashion brand... and there is Katie Grand, who puts the Hungarian models everywhere she can, this is part of the pressure they put down on me.

At Dior Marc's contact is Camille Micheli, who brings my ideas to Dior, she used to work with Marc for so many years, before she got her job at Dior. Dior is part of the same Fashion Group as Louis Vuitton.

Marc Jacobs and Miley Cyrus... another celebrity controlled by the egomaniac MJ.

Marc Jacobs first invited Miley for his fashion show in 2013 February, then made Miley to dress up the same way I did on my photos last summer in 2012.

The latest video clip of Miley the " We Can't Stop" was the idea of Jacobs. He pulls Miley`s strings too.

In a new interview with Rankin’s Hunger magazine, Cyrus credits Jacobs—who recently featured her naked on a t-shirt to promote skin cancer awareness—for her introduction into the world of high fashion.

I work a lot with Marc Jacobs. He kind of brought me into fashion like when I was 16, that was when I started being around him and just learning from him. He kind of let me inspire some of his pieces and now I feel like its just having the right people around you.

He is the originator behind many of Richardson`s perverse editorials.

How can he control Richardson?

The answer is simple: Jacobs gets Terry very well-paying jobs. ( Just like he did for Inez and Vinoodh for the Gaga clip)... and Terry can not say no to money!

For example in 2011, Terry followed Gaga on her “Monster Ball” tour taking behind the scenes pics, 350 of which made it into his book Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson. Post reports that Richardson made $58 million on his photos between June 2012 and June 2013.
The latest job Jacobs got Terry is the new video clip of Miley Cyrus, the Wrecking Ball was directed by Terry Richardson.

Meet the young topmodel Daphne Groeneveld... She poises on many of the photos that are the copies of my original photos... She has to poise on the photos and act the way I do...
Marc supports her from the background. When she was a completely beginner model she got the Louis Vuitton and the Miu Miu campaign in her first season at the age of 13... now she is the face of Dior.

You may ask now, why is Marc Jacobs doing this? And why with me, Angel Barta, a Hungarian girl?

When I first met Marc Jacobs, 5 years ago, there were no Hungarian models in the fashion industry, every brand wanted to work with Brasilian, Russian girls.

Marc noticed me and my special style from the first moment, when he saw me at his gym.

He promised he would make the first Hungarian topmodel out of me, he just asked for my inspiration, my photos, ideas and fashion designs.

He told me I was the first woman he fell in love with...

Of course I belived him and supported him with my ideas, love and energy. Jacobs copied my style for his fashion shows.( Louis Vuitton Spring 2009, Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 and Louis Vuitton Fall 2009, MJ Fall 2009) It was a huge success! Marc became overwhelmed by the success. He copied all of the elements of my style., for example the oversize colourful bows I am wearing, my hats, colours mix, shapes, feelings, everything that is me, Angel.

After two years, he was still making me belive he would own up to loving me and designing me, would tell the world that I was his inspiration... meanwhile he won many many international awards, he even won a "half-life time award", and he became a lord.

After I started to see clearly that he just used me for his own success, I tryied to cut him off of my life, but he did not want to let me go. He kept calling me, writing me. He did all the sneaky tricky thing he could, to not let me start my life all over again without him.

Then I wrote my story in a love book, hoping that he would let me live my life after... he read my book and used all the informations against me. I wrote honestly about all my dreams, hopes, feelings.I became an open book to him. He learned my weakness...

He gave all my dreams, wishes for other Hungarian models. All the things I wrote in my book, he made them come true for other Hungarian girls...step by step... After I got over the first thing, he made another one... he did everything to break me, and take away my passion for fashion.

Today anywhere I go I run into the photos that are the copies of my ideas....

I asked Marc so many times, " Why are you doing this to me? Why is it good to you when I suffer?"

I never hurt him, no matter how much he did hurt me, I treated him nicely. I was probably the only person in the world who honestly loved him.

All he said was, that he designed my soul and he wanted to write his name with GOLD letter into the fashion history and he knew that with my talent he could do it for sure....he said he was happy when I am suffering...
