SPEND-LESS SHOES SS17 LAUNCH

"I collect Vogue, Shoes and compliments"

With the upcoming Adelaide Fashion Festival and exclusive VOGUE Weekend, fashion is on the mind. And when you're galavanting at these social fashion events one thing I've had to learn is graciously accepting compliments in a world where we're taught to negate sincere adorations.

But more important than Vogue or compliments are... shoes.

At last count I had 37 pairs of shoes and that was a solid 6 months ago (send help). And Spend-Less Shoes isn't doing anything to help me with my (very normal) personal selection of footwear.

Spend-Less Shoes have officially launched their Spring/Summer 17 collection in conjunction with Party With Lenzo and BeYoung PR. The new range of shoes incorporates styles for your next cocktail night near the beach, Spring Racing Carnivals and extra fashionable Friday nights.

The evening was hosted at Adelaide's newest devoted event space, Chateau Apollo, where Cassie Young invited the foremost Influencers for a fashion shoot challenge! Which blogger would take out the Spend-Less shoe style crown? The brands that contributed to the nights success include Modern Party, Aeon Collective, Little Big Balloon Co, Pickawall, Studio Botanic, Hello Kit Co, Red Hen Gin, Entourage Events and Food by Annabel.

With a boutique 'shoe bar', bloggers were able to try-on multiple styles available in the SS17 to style with pieces available from Couture+Love+Madness to show themselves and their audiences how versatile and modern Spend-Less's new collection is.

Of course my extra self had to frock on with my House of Zhivago sequin dress, paired with the rose gold 'Evie' heel ($49.99) set in NYC (on the bucket list) to pose for the shot below.... that won me tickets to the Paolo Sebastian AFF Runway! <3

The event was one of the most well-thought out and memorable experiences I've ever had the pleasure of attending. A big BIG thank you so Spend-Less Shoes for creating an amazing, affordable and fashionable range of shoes for every girl to wear and Cassie from BeYoung PR for orchestrating such an amazing Influencer event.

Houndstooth Pattern

Why You Need Houndstooth in Your Closet

I have always loved the houndstooth pattern, I find the pattern to be timeless, and the wonderful thing about houndstooth is how adaptable it is.  You can use it to create a very runway-inspired look or wear it more traditionally; either way, it is quite chic.  Houndstooth is a classic menswear print that Chanel had made famous for women in the 60’s.  The pattern has been around for over decades in its classic black and white shades but now is making a comeback in a variety of colours as well.

If you are brave and bold enough, try wearing houndstooth from head to toe.  The simplest and easiest ways, of course, is to wear a houndstooth printed dress.  You can also get in on the suiting trend and rock a houndstooth suit or, if you want something more flexible and something that offers you more freedom and options, you can simply wear whatever you feel like wearing and top it off with a houndstooth coat.

The Houndstooth pattern makes for great work-wear.  The simplest way to wear this trend is to wear a houndstooth printed jacket over your formals to work.  Also, a houndstooth blazer can easily go from day to night.

The check now comes in a multitude of fabrications and colours, seen on tweed texture pants and slinky silk shirts, there’s something both modern and classic about it.  Pick one piece and keep the rest of the outfit clean and neutral—houndstooth is bold enough to be the sole focal point or a houndstooth accessory, like a handbag or scarf, to keep you from being overwhelmed.  Trust me, you’ll get addicted.

Now, for the really bold and adventurous fashionistas out there, here’s something more challenging: wear houndstooth with other prints. The print on print trend is still in full force so why not add the houndstooth print to your arsenal of printed patterns to mix and match?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

MFW, Day 1

Transitioning between London and Milan seems to be the smoothest part of my Fashion month, every season. It's like actually catching a break from all of that Fashion Week madness, especially with London being slightly more chaotic than Milan ;) Do not get me wrong, I love the energy of LFW and there is nothing that suits more my lifestyle and personality than a busy schedule in an extra-busy city, that said, for some reason, Milan simply is more tidy, methodical. There is a reason for everything that happens in Milan; no fuss, no moss !

For my first day at MFW, I wore this snake print twinset from Sinequanone, courtesy of my friends at Wilshire Fashions in Montreal. I love me a good matching ensemble and this silky duo happened to be just what I had in mind for Milan. I find it is very reminiscent of the 1970's Italian era in all its glory. At the time, Fashion Week was held only twice a year and lasted a couple of days in the Fashion capital that was (and still is!) Milan. Paris was on its way, three short years later…

It may sound funny but what really made me fall for this dress was the camel leather halter collar; I have a thing from neutral details. Plus, I had the perfect pair of Go-go-like suede boots, rounded square oversized sunnies and camel leather handbag to complete my look. The 1970's are famous for many things when it comes to Fashion. Among them, the glamour wear and tailored style stood out strongly during the decade, with boots at the height of their popularity, becoming the accessory of the hour. Despite the widespread boho vibes, loads of girls would opt for a more elevated style inspired by 1940's movie star glamour.

The only thing missing here would be more volume in my hair. Yes, yes, big hair is a thing too ;)

Olivia Palermo At La Perla’s Madison Avenue Boutique Reopening in New York

Olivia Palermo rocked a tailored suit ,getting this season's trouser trend can be tricky; not too long, not too tight. But Olivia Palermo nailed it.

When it comes to style, Olivia Palermo makes decidedly daring choices and, as we learned last night, the beauty is unafraid of throwing underpinnings into the mix—at least when the lingerie in question is draped on mannequins that scatter one of Manhattan's most gorgeous shops. “I love to see all the couture pieces. It’s a work of art,” she commented to InStyle at the re-opening of La Perla’s Madison Avenue boutique in New York.

Though Olivia 's outfit didn’t exactly scream 50 Shades, the street-style favorite still turned heads when she walked into the store. Wearing an all black La Perla suit with silk green pumps, Palermo looked perfectly polished. Her accessories game, as usual, was also on point with vintage pins decorating her lapels and Verdura jewels shining.
So how does the It girl define her style? “It’s eclectic, relatively accessorized, tailored, with little pops of color. Structured, probably,” she said. Her standout fashion choices make it tough for her to step out without being photographed—but Palermo doesn't consider lens men before getting dressed.
“No, I’m really practical, and it’s about what my day entails, so if I have meetings I get really dressed and if I don’t get to go home, then I have an outfit that I can transition, and I have a little extra makeup, just like any other girl," she says. "That’s basically it. I dress for myself and I enjoy getting dressed. I don’t dress for anyone else."

Camilla Style Guide and Boutique Launch - Paddington - Sydney.

Be a Camilla Ringleader!

Yes, there is a beautiful and glorious Camilla tribe and I was in the thick of it with all these beauties for the launch of Camilla's style guide at her new Paddington boutique. The new flagship store is indeed also very beautiful and shares with you the journey that has made Camilla the label and, I think the woman who and what they are today. I will let the pictures tell you the story of this launch; the style guide which I received a print copy of is a fabulous work itself, and it can also be viewed online with illustrations and how to video as well. You will never be at a loss for a new way to wear your Camilla.  Congratulations to Camilla and her Tribe of Camilla Ringleaders!
