Wandering around with a coffee is a pretty good morning. As a bonafide snob, I like to try single origin coffees and compare- so far I haven't found one I didn't like, didn't love, yes, but that's different.
If heading out with my man, I naturally dress for comfort- since I am just hanging out, not heading to a fashion show, which means that on a number of occasions I end up with pretty simple outfits to share, such as this one. A classic pair of black jeans, a grey marle tee and a pair of leopard heels is a comfortable look with that stylish twist. I once noticed that all of my shoes were all black, white or leopard. Yep, leopard is a classic, when done right. Personally I favour larger prints over small and I enjoy this faux pony hair textile. (This leads to casual shoe stroking under the table, whatever).

As usual, my lack of predetermined hairstyle for any given day leads to my playing with and changing it, oh, all the time. It is not uncommon for people to comment that "Jenelle, you've changed your hair three times tonight!" What gives? I like the undone, messy naturalness of it all. I've admired exactly that on French women and in reality I am not hugely skilled at styling it into fancy coifs, braids or the like.
I'll leave that to the enthusiasts and professionals. After all, I am just wandering around being a coffee snob, right?

Etre Cecile Tee, Vintage Blazer, Ellery Skirt, Chloe Boots, Ray-Bans.

This may be the only 'outfit' post I have from Perth Fashion Festival, somehow, due to the events being at night, I would not get time to shoot before. Also I always seem to be running into a show from another event. Over the weekend though, I went to the Fashion Central shows to check out the swimwear and in-store runways. These shots were taken on our lunch break... you can tell by my grumpy face I was starving! :)

Am in love with both Etre Cecile and Ellery, they are so modern and cool. I can not get enough.
Also my sprained ankle still causing me grief and massively swollen meant I was told "You can NOT be wearing heels Jenelle!" Doctors orders, so I was resigned to flats- and somewhat had to re-plan my outfits. Thank goodness for ankle boots.

Shopping on a budget from one op-shop chain for a month, is quite a challenge.
These seven Perth bloggers volunteered their blogs, instagram accounts and wardrobes for the month of August for the 2013 Perth Fashion Festival Restyle Challenge.
You may remember I shot the 2012 Restyle runway- and happily have gotten to know some of these lovely women in that past year.
This year the challenge was specified to certain themes each day, such as metallic, pink, DIY, print-on-print etc.
The challenge was also opened up to the general public to participate snapping their outfits on instagram. The response was overwhelming, with thousands of photos shared, as Perth op-shops and the community benefitted.

Models hammed it up last night, partying and snapping selfies on the Fashionably Loud runway as a part of Perth Fashion Festival. Fashion Central- aka the free show tent of ready to wear in store collections, was pumped with The Faders DJ-ing and onlookers twirling glow sticks.
Models danced, smiled, blew kisses, jumped into the bleachers, took an on looker onto the runway and generally had fun while showcasing outfits from Carillon City
I recently checked out (and grabbed pieces from) new store Bruug, who's aesthetic I love, in a dressed up comfort, undone classics style.
Cue, Factorie, Saba, YD, Bruug and more were featured with fun corporate, comfort and street style outfits for men and women.

More PFF2013 Coverage to come.

Capsule Wardrobe Vol 2.0

Continuing on in my Capsule Wardrobe series... last time I talked Casual, Work and Cocktails, read it here.

EVERY DAY
Jeans and a t-shirt, simple, comfortable and accessible.
Anyone can wear this, and should feel free to.
I probably wear these boots too much but I love them. I twisted my ankle the other week, and have only attempted heels once since, these semi heel boots have been saving me. They are loose, a good heel height and great quality.
Truth be told, my love of rock music, is something I tend to want to share with the world. I never know who any pop stars are, it takes a long time for me to work out who the big artists are (more than a year before I worked out who Lady gaga was- not kidding). Rock though- I am all about that.

Chloe Susanna Boots, Zara Tee (similar here), Cap, Levis Jeans, Ray Bans

MEETINGS
I have worn a variation of this to work, then to fashion events, and meetings. It is a good outfit when you have to go from one thing to another without time to change.
I love a pencil skirt, and pairing it with grey marle and an interesting hem line? Love. I like that I can throw this together with a white or black shirt, blazer, or a block colour for something different. I know grey is a bit of a nothing colour, (as talked about here) but it goes well with everything, so any piece of clothing in grey is good in my books.
Neoprene is not for everyone, but personally, I can't get enough.
For some reason I do like to wear pink, (despite what Karl says), it makes a nice change.
This Vivienne Westwood bag I have had for YEARS, it fits a lot in, the plaid somehow manages to work with a lot of outfits- I particularly enjoy when it clashes with the rest of the look (to an extent- I won't pair it with yellow). I talked about these heels last time- prepare to see the same items a few times, capsule wardrobe and all.

WINTER

So it does get cold here, and this teal coat has been my favourite winter coat for years. I spotted this one in Madison magazine then hunted it down from Sportsgirl of all places, back in 2008. Teal is a beautiful colour, in small doses. I am a sucker for military inspired coats, this one fits like a glove and keeps me warm.
These Italian wool leggings are warm, feel beautiful, and tick a few sporty boxes.
Pairing them with an oversized shirt, or this lace top makes it feel less like I am wearing leggings as pants. :)

Sportsgirl Coat, Flannel Lace Top, Alexander Wang Leggings, Ballet flats, Mimco Quilted Wallet, and Oroton Notebook.
