A huge show of local and international art is always going to deliver a huge crowd. It's my first trip back to the Gunnery in Woolloomooloo in its new incarnation as Art Space; and it did not disappoint as the style flowed as freely the wine and beer, so much so I need to get back there and check out the show. What I saw I loved and I didn't see anyone kick any of those ticking metronomes - "Object to be destroyed" on steroids! At least they are the wooden German ones with the nice tone. Jumpers were hot and I wish that knitwear in the second shot down had the face woven in, alas it is just a shadow. Plenty of colour, but I seem to be falling in love with black and white photography all over again, so here's a selection of both. thanks guys (guys and gals) you are awesome!
From Art Space website,
"With over 60 artworks, and drawing on the notion of the dematerialisation of art, Art as a Verb looks broadly at art’s relationship to the world and what constitutes the work of an artist. How do the varying roles of an artist (as instigator, facilitator, teacher, performer, consumer or visionary) fit within broader society? And how does the museum or gallery support art forms that function beyond the art object?"
