Over the year we've dined at Kuku Mama a few times, mainly on Cheap Tuesdays before a movie at The Astor. Most of the time it's pretty good though our last visit wasn't... it might be a once off but we won't be back for quite some time.
The highlight of our night was the duck bao! Served very warm it was awesome! It was much better than the first time we had it, as by then it was cold.
This appears to be half a pigeon. The chicken was a wing and drumstick instead of breast and thigh... same price though. What's with that? The chicken not dry, but drier and marinade not as strong - compared to last time.
The beef skirt was dry. If it was slow cooked, how does than happen unless there isn't enough marinade?
Everything else was good, though not as good as two visits ago.
Also there is no dessert menu.
Tuesday night is local nights, though through dimmi you could get the same 50% off offer.
We paid $30 for two people for all the above.
