Retro Bellissima: Gucci Fall/Winter 2016

WHAT: Gucci Fall/Winter 2016. Creative Director Alessandro Michele's Fall 2016 collection for Gucci was inspired by seemingly polarizing themes such as Catherine de Medici, Asiana, 70's Sport with a "dusting" of 80s Glam Fab. Big shoulders, Pouffy gathered Leg o' Mutton-like sleeves, turbans, diamante-studded Disco sunglasses and bodices straight out of 16th century paintings are just some of the looks seen on the latest Gucci runway. Michelle collaborated with New York street artist and musician Trouble Andrew to spray-paint the "GG" logo on skirts and jackets...

Put away your skinny jeans and leggings...it's all about OVERSIZED clothing, as Robin Givhan of the Washington Post says in her review here. The show was Ghastly Haunted Fashion Fabulous. Actress Rooney Mara wore this black silk tulle gown from Valentino at tonight's 2016 SAG Awards. The gown was simple, with a gathered bust, waistband and softly flared skirt. It was a very Fashion Minimalist look, which to be honest, was slightly on the boring side. To add to the minimalist "theme", she barely accessorized the look and kept her hair to a simple yet severe slicked-back bun. She looked like a Russian ballerina...

"The Danish Girl" actress Alicia Vikander looked stunning in this shimmery multicolored paillette gown from Louis Vuitton. the gown featured a high neck, long sleeves and side slit. The metallic paillettes (sequins) were in white, black, gold, silver and copper sewn in a patchwork motif...

I loved the patchwork "print" look of this gown...reminiscent of a Gustav Klimpt painting!

Loved the stacked peep toe pumps with gold piping as well!

Athletic Slashed: Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2016

WHAT: Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2016. Donatella Versace showed an "athletic"-inspired collections with overt references to Sportif via the stirrup Figure Skating-like pants, straps with metal hooks, and sporty bomber track jackets. That was for day, and then evening went with the typical HOT HOT HOT slashed-to-there, slit-to-really-up-there dresses accompanied by lots of cutaways, sequined netting. Let your inner Sex Bomb come out with any of these Super-Sexy ensembles.
