Rising with the Sun

I am not usually the type of person to try and coerce someone into doing something, but this time dear readers, I am going to make an exception. Last week I once again found myself restless. Pacing a track in my carpet, I decided at 3am to take off with my gear with one determination, to catch that sunrise.

I had done this once before, except in 22 degree weather behind the Adler Planetarium, buried in 2 feet of snow sitting with my tripod. I do recall that the odd thing was during the entire time I was taking photos, I felt not the least bit of chill. It was such and infiltration of emotions that I felt nothing but sheer inner-warmth. I have spoken about the experience many times since then but speaking is so much easier than writing (for me at least). I thought to myself… “How does one convey such intense beauty with words?”I quickly found out that you simply cannot. You must go and experience itfor yourself.

Last week was the first time I had done this during the summer. And what was truly magnificent to me was not only observing the break of day, that moment when the sun just starts to peek its unrestricted rays out from the clouds, but the fact that just as the sun rose, the city rose with it. There were two simultaneously amazing things happening at once. Some early morning joggers would sit and have a chat with me. I quietly wondered to myself if they realized how lucky they were to be able to witness this every single day. People were so kind. I saw a pleasantness I had not seen in a very long time.

Our journey on this rock is so very short in comparison to eternity. I will never take another second of my day, my life, for granted. This experience spun me around like an amusement park ride. It instilled a permanent awakening inside of me.

Again, my life is forever changed. Go and watch the day unfold. I promise you, it is worth every single second.

Peace and Love to you all <3

Halfstack Fall Issue Sneak Peek: Off to Grammy Camp

Written by: Cora Vasseur as featured in Halfstack's Fall Issue.

Chicago is rich in music history and prowess across the genres. It was no surprise when several Chicagoland high school students were selected for the GRAMMY Foundation’s prestigious GRAMMY Camp. In their 10th year of existence, there will be 173 high school students total from across the country and the globe. Some students will be flying in from Japan, China, and England to learn what it takes to make it in today’s music industry.

The GRAMMY Foundation was established in 1988 to foster the betterment of American recorded music through programs and events that involve music industry professionals with different communities.

“We always wanted to have another vehicle for those high school students who wanted more in-depth information and instruction about the various careers in the business of music,” says David R. Sears, Executive Education Director. “It’s day long music industry career day.”

"The GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY Camp has become our signature program that provides young people with an extraordinarily in-depth experience, giving them a genuine sense of what it's like to have a career in the music industry," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. "Each and every GRAMMY Camper benefits from this program and takes with them valuable lessons learned as they continue their music journeys."

Candidates apply online for one or more of the eight career tracks, which include instrumental performance, vocal performance, audio engineering, music journalism, music business, video production and motion graphics, songwriting and electronic music production. Campers are selected on many factors, but especially two key elements.

After receiving so many comments and suggestions about  "new in" posts and that I should publish them often, I decided to add a new version of it. Every now and then I will create imaginary shopping list and you will be able to track my picks mainly from high street brands. And here is the first collage, with August favorites:

3. Floral print top, Zara
4. Metal applique sunglasses, Mango
5. Nails pop, Rimmel
6. Boyfriend jeans, Mango
7. Double keeper belt, Mango
8. Arizona leather slides, Birkenstock

Hope you will find this useful! If you have any suggestion I would love to hear!

5 Links For Smiles and Inspiration

Well hey there you gorgeous lot! Happy Friday!
Having just returned from hols, I'm feeling refreshed and SO happy to be home. Since finding a space - both for home and work - which feels totally right for me and for Ols, I've been more excited than ever to just spend time HERE. At the end of the week I like to read up on things which I can spend the weekend mulling over, here are 5 Links For Smiles and Inspiration:

1.
Do What You Love: What Do You Love? on APairAndASpireDIY - with risk of sounding like a total fangirl - I find Geneva and her blog SO inspiring! I love her Do What You Love series - it is a massive boost whenever stuck in an "ermm what AM I doing?" moment.

2.
Use Fancy Words with The Everygirl - I adore this series! (Im)maturely I find some words just sound funny, and therefore make me smile, but I also love learning new vocabulary. It's becoming one of my quotidian bookmarks! (Is that the right context?!)

3.
Embellished dress on ASOS Salon. This dress is made to PARTAY! Purchase, grab a cocktail and go.

4.
Awesome animals on Sarah Yate's Pinterest here and here - because animals are just CUTE. And I am having a lot of puppy-adopting dreams lately - any reading into that?!

5.
@PopulationSalon on Instagram - I recently got my hair dyed in Menorca and after a double visit (wayyy too blonde round 1) I've realised how important it is to have accurate visuals. I love Population Salon's Instagram account for the best balayage around. I only WISH the Sanfrancisco based salon was a little closer to me so I could get my in on the action!

This weekend we have some of our best friends coming to stay, I can't wait to see them as they live quite far away and time together is always precious.

Hope you guys have great weekend plans too!

Love,

When Adidas team asked me if I would like to style and create flatlays for them, I instantly accepted this challenge and start thinking about it. After one whole day of styling and photographing I got these results and I'm more than satisfied how everything looks like at the end.
If you are a professional runner, yoga lover, gym junkie or you just like to hang out in your sport clothes on weekend, here are some of my suggestions!
The best way to stay motivated (beside looking at top models) is a new workout clothes, so create your own look by mixing and matching colors and prints and start working! It's a perfect timing to get that beach body!
Hope you will find it inspiring!

p.s. I'm really honored because official Adidas Running Facebook page and Twitter profile with tons of followers shared these flatlays, how cool is that?!

Sweet and indulgent
