The Color Pink Has a New Meaning in Fashion

The Color Pink Has a New Meaning in Fashion

Clothing Style, Celebrity Style, Celebrity, igirlythingx

The first time I thought that pink looked really badass was when Rihanna showed up to the Grammys in 2015. She wore a double-tiered Giambattista Valli dress that seemed to take over the red carpet. Though it invited plenty of cupcake memes, there was nothing sweet about it. Scan through her wardrobe and you'll see how Rihanna has always styled the color with her signature edge. It turns out she was just ahead of the game.

As we followed the runways at Paris Haute Couture Week this season, we were impressed by the many pink poufs, including Lily-Rose Depp's Chanel wedding gown. Though these designs might have been created with a delicate hand, finished with whimsical, girlie details, it would take guts to wear them — to know that everyone would be staring at you. It would take confidence to glide along in all those extra layers of tulle.

Throw out all the attributes you used to associate with pink, because it's gone through something of a transformation. In our eyes, pink still represents femininity, but a daring, confident brand of femininity. Pink doesn't blend in with the crowd; it's the single hue women are opting for when they want to stand out. Read on to track the color's latest transformation, from the runways to the red carpet and on the street, too.

PANDORA'S SUMMER 2016 COLLECTION

I've always been a believer in the power of accessories! I do love clothing of course, yet something about accessories captures my imagination unlike anything else. In fact, a lot of my outfits begin with an accessory. A great pair of heels, a cute bag, or like in the case of today's look, a few sparkly favorites from PANDORA's Summer collection

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably already know that PANDORA jewelry holds a very special place in my heart. I think my obsessions started when I first spotted a classic PANDORA bracelet with charms, and was really drawn to the idea that every single charm is not just a beautiful piece of jewelry, but has a very special meaning expressed through the design.

Another reason why PANDORA is such a favorite is because a lot of really special moments in my life were commemorated with PANDORA jewelry, and each and every piece I currently own came with a beautiful story. Among my favorites, is the bracelet Emil give me for my birthday, a pair of drop earrings I found on my dressing table the day I was leaving for Paris Fashion Week, and a lovely necklace which was initially meant as an anniversary present, but ended up as a "just because" present to lift my spirits on a particularly awful Tuesday:) The pieces I am wearing in today's post are no exception, and came with a story as well:)

I've been dropping hints about how much I love PANDORA's Summer collection left, right and center. Aside from the fact that I really love how delicate, soft and feminine these pieces are, I always had a soft spot for blue and turquoise blue is definitely one of my all-time favorites! Well, I got up on Saturday morning to find these pretty hand-crafted jewels waiting for me! Thank you, PANDORA for sending me pieces from the new collection!:) Suffice to say I am literally over the moon and I just can't bring myself to stop wearing them obsessively! So pretty and delicate, you know how much I love jewelry I can layer and these bracelets and earrings layer beautifully! So, I have a feeling you'll be seeing quite a bit of the in the future!

Accessory-trends 2016: Brooches Are Back

The brooch is back. Prada and Balenciaga were among the major brands that signaled its return on their fall runways while others, like Chanel and Marni, have always had a soft spot for the decorative accessory.  If you’ve never been a fan, give it a try this season, you might be surprised by the effect a small accessory can make.

One of the ways of wearing a brooch this year was  just pin it onto the shirt, It’s fast, easy and comfortable. Your special accessory will always be visible at your first hello and you will never accidentally lose it (just look down now and then to check if it’s still there). This is also one of the most feminine and classic ways of handling a brooch. There is nothing edgy about it, but the tradition still inspires.

Instead of simply pinning it onto the shirt, try it up to the collar. This style fits perfectly into the office of the 21st century. Pick the right shirt with a suiting collar; remember that shirts are all different.

The classics are never outdated.  Brooches on the blazer lapels, whether your accessory has a special meaning or it’s just a fashion statement, this way of pinning your brooch will never get old.
Make sure the fabric can hold the weight of a big brooch.
You know your neckline is in the centre of the attention.  So, what if we add another delicate detail to it! I adore brooches on V-necks (although other necklines will also work).
If your dress has a special detail on the waistline, go ahead and pin the brooch around it. Belts both on blouses and dresses work very well too! The brooch steals the attention from other body parts and concentrates the main target on the waistline. If you pick the right shape, you can even accentuate curves, where they need to be in the spotlight.
One of the most common uses is pinning brooches on scarves. This method has always been used by both older and younger generations. Add a reliable brooch and you will not only walk safely, but will also look like you just stepped down the global catwalk.
Brooches can also go on the hat! The movement of your head will always make the accessory shine, catching the rays of the light.
