Say Hello to Fall's Take on The Matching Set Trend
While it might seem that the two-piece look is a bit too, well, skimpy for the cooler months, some of the biggest designers in the world beg to differ! Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, and more have crafted clever knit matching sets so that we all may continue rocking the look throughout the fall and winter months.
Matching sets come in all different shapes, sizes, patterns, and colours. You can pick up a short, pastel set for spring, or a knit, long-sleeved and midi skirt set for the fall and winter. Typically, sets consist of a crop top and skirt in matching patterns, but you can also scope out matching sets with pants, shorts or skorts. The world is your oyster!
The great thing about the matching sets trend is that, 1) Less fuss on what top or skirt/pants/shorts to wear, 2) It can be done in any season (see the knits sets for autumn and winter, and the tiny chiffon or lace sets for summer), and 3) They go for any occasion, it all depends on the lengths and styles.
I love how you can wear these ribbed knit co-ords with all kinds of shoes, mix and match with similar coloured items and bundle up in even more textiles throwing cardis, ponchos, coats and scarves on top. You can also go with a ribbed sweater dress if you’re not comfortable with wearing tight knit pants, although this style can be flattering.
