The One Trend You, Your Boyfriend, and Every Fashion Girl Will Wear in 2018

Sure we can't get enough of dramatic sleeves, patent leather pieces, and white boots. But there's one 2018 trend that's really transforming the fashion industry. According to The Annual Topics and Trends Report by Facebook IQ, the conversation around androgynous or unisex clothing is growing rapidly on social media. No surprise, since so many genderless brands are making headlines and mixing things up on the runway.

I have to admit, I (a legit girlie girl) even tried on a top I recently bought from the men's department for my boyfriend. And I loved the way it looked on me so much, I contemplated keeping it for myself. Sure, I wore it as a mini dress, but still the unisex trend is one that we will all wear in some shape or form during 2018.

Look at the biggest runway shows, and you'll see feminine labels already mixing in menswear-inspired pieces all over the place—like masculine plaid suits, over-sized hoodies, and slouchy sweatpants. The boys are also borrowing from the girls with long tunics that have dress-like silhouettes, and we'll never forget about the male romper RompHims.

VIDEO: The Trend You Thought You'd Never Wear Again Is Back

Gigi Hadid shares her thoughts on Victoria's Secret after missing out on 2017 show

Gigi Hadid has shared her thoughts on this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, from the comfort of her own home of course, after the model was forced to bow out of this year’s runway.

Hadid confirmed on November 16 she would not be walking, with rumours being it was due to backlash over a video of the model poking fun at a Buddha cookie, which offended fans.

“I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year! :) x,” she wrote.

Now, Hadid has shared her thoughts on the show, having viewed it as it aired in the US yesterday. Taking to Instagram Stories, Hadid expressed her excitement for younger sister Bella as she took to the runway and also congratulated the Victoria’s Secret team.

“Excited to watch my gorg lil sis (so proud @bellahadid) and all my angelic friends tonight #vsfs. HUGE LOVE to all the girls and the whole VS team!!”

The model added: “A year of prep and hard work deserves major celebration!!!! (Even though u never stop and you'll already be planning '18 tomorrow morning if not already @ed_razek).”

Gigi had originally confirmed in August she would be joining the model line-up in Shanghai but continued to receive comments on social media telling her she was not welcome in China due to the video in question. It was not known if it was a visa issue or a decision by the model herself.

Gucci Launches Eccentric Resort 2018 Collection

As a fashion house with high artistic value, Gucci collection design always comes with detail, embroidery, ornaments, and rich in texture. Alessandro Michele, Creative Director Gucci always succeeded in presenting the values in tune with the collection and runway place.

Call it a collection of Gucci Resort 2018, Alessandro deliberately chose the Pitti Palace, Florence, Italy that represents the beauty of the Renaissance. Of course this is in line with the theme that carried the fashion brand. In addition, Alessandro deliberately designed benches decorated with poems by Bacchus 'Song by Lorenzo de' Medici to increase his artistic value.

Reported by Vogue, this fashion show is also backed by a harp music game that is in seven different rooms. This installation is in harmony with the nuanced collection of flora and fauna that characterize the Renaissance era. Print roses that look natural not only found in dress and female tops, but also for men.

The touch of the Renaissance was increasingly felt with a headdress in the form of gold leaf with a very thick with the history of that period. Even some models use accessories on the hands and faces to make it look artistic.

Meanwhile WWD released, singer Fransesco Bianconi also walked on the runway using a tapestry suit combined with red roses. In addition to flowers, long-haired man is also decorated Gucci collection with a dragon motif on the front of the clothing.

Fransesco also appeared eccentric with jogging pants, ruffle tops and bright burgundy matelassé mantles. He also did not hesitate mengumbar Gucci logo on midi skirt, men's trousers, bomber jacket, and fur.

Despite spending 200,000 euros in renting Pitti Palace, Gucci successfully brings his brand back to his hometown as well as cultural roots in Florence. Gucci also plans to donate 2 million euros within three years in order to restore the Boboli park as part of the 'Primavera di Boboli' cultural project. This fashion show was also attended by Sir Elton John, Beth Ditto, Kirsten Dunst, Dev Hynes, Dakota Johnson, and Soko. (Aulia DH)

Mens Winter Fashion Essentials - Every Guy Should Need

The clocks have gone back, and the days are much shorter now — that means it’s only going to get colder from here on out. If you haven’t done so already, it's time to prepare your closet for winter's typical, and sometimes plain brutal, temperatures.
If you're looking for some new items to supplement your existing threads, or you're looking to replace a few of last year's favorite pieces, you've landed on the right page though. We have the 14 things that will complete your seasonal wardrobe below.

A wool beanie

It's winter. Burr! But dude, you're not 8 anymore. It's time to put away—actually, throw away—the Michelin Man winter ensemble and start dressing like a real man.

You know your favorite wool cap that looks great but itches like crazy? Replace it with cashmere. Sure, it's pricier than wool, but comfort is priceless, right? It's goes best with a solid, neutral color like black or navy since you probably own more than one winter coat. Stripes are okay.

The Power Scarf

In the middle of winter, a scarf with a bit of color and texture can help wake up your look, especially since your coat is probably black or gray. Look for playful patterns like checks and plaids to give your style some depth. We like these wool and soya blend scarves because they're extra lightweight and soft, and they have a slightly crinkly, lived-in quality.

A good layering sweater

Like we said earlier, winter is all about layering your clothes, then layering them some more.

Sweaters are essential layers for keeping warm this winter. There are tons of styles and materials to choose among, too

The 4-in-1 Coat

At first glance, this coat looks lightweight: built for spring or fall. Look closer and you'll find it has a reversible, removable, quilted liner with a shearling fleece collar that keeps you warm to 0 degrees, and a water-repellent nylon shell.

 A snow boot

The weather forecast is about as predictable as, well, the weather. This winter (and every winter), you should have a reliable pair of snow boots on your shoe rack — to combat freezing rain, snow, sub-zero wind chills, and whatever else Mother Nature churns out.

The Warmest Gloves

Women notice a guy's hands—even their gloved hands. These chocolate leather gloves are shearling—a sheepskin that's gotten a lot to TLC during the manufacturing process—so they're extra soft and warm. They're also tough, protecting against winter's worst. The silver buckle is a subtle but sophisticated finishing touch. You won't want to take them off when you arrive at your destination. But please do.

Socks, But Not Just Any Socks

Cashmere socks. Sure, they're expensive, but get over it. How often do you treat your feet to something luxuriously soft? Warning: Your girlfriend will probably steal them. We say cuff her!

A proper wool overcoat

All-weather parkas and puffer jackets are best suited for inclement weather. Wool peacoats and topcoats, on the other hand, are best suited for slightly nicer winter days when you’re commuting to the office or attending more formal events. As a general rule: Wear the latter when it's cold, but not blizzarding outside.

What Does Being a “Brand Ambassador” Really Do For You?

Have you ever been approached to be a brand ambassador as a fashion blogger or digital influencer? Unsure whether or not you should commit to doing it?

It's flattering to be approached by an established company. Especially if you're new to fashion blogging and digital influencing, and are developing your own online identity and brand. “The Company” may ask you to lend your images, content or social media space to the promoting of their products. They might even go as far as to suggest you appear in their advertising, host events or created content in exchange for reviewing their products. And while The Company may be willing to shower you will free items (like free clothing for your to wear or extra cosmetics to give away to your followers in contests), it's worth evaluating if this “ambassadorship” is a win-win situation for all parties involved. Is working with The Company as their “brand ambassador” fair to you (and your followers), or is it drastically tipped in The Company's favor?

Over the years, I have been approached by big name companies about opportunities like the ones described above. Most of them have been offering products and/or exposure through their channels, in exchange for my participation. In other words, I would not be receiving monetary compensation for being involved. I value my time and image as a fashion blogger and influencer. Therefore, I closely evaluate these “brand ambassador” proposals that come across my desk, before deciding whether or not I should commit. Spoiler Alert: the ones I take on are few and far between.

If I am offered payment, I consider whether the company is a natural match for myself, my blog and my brand. If yes, then it's an easy decision to make.

And if the answer isn't as clear (or it's an unpaid ambassadorship), I have to consider other factors. How will the ambassadorship benefit my brand in the long run? Are there any benefits for my brand, to be closely tied to this particular company? Doing an unpaid ambassadorship for a high fashion brand is much different than one for a fast fashion apparel company. Will I actually benefit from the exposure the company can provide myself and my blog? Before I can agree (or disagree) to committing to The Company as their brand ambassador, all these questions need to be answered. The bottom line: When in doubt about a brand ambassadorship as a fashion blogger, walk away.

In addition to my thoughts on being a brand ambassador (both paid or unpaid), I gathered some advice from a few fellow bloggers. Check it out below and let us know what your thoughts are on brand ambassadorships in the comments below.

MEGA Fashion Week S/S ’18: Mark Bumgarner

Mark Bumgarner

There’s a noticeable change in Mark Bumgarner’s offerings as the designer strayed from showcasing the full regalia of his signature ball gowns at the #MEGAFashionWeekSS18. That is not to say that the magnificence the designer is known for is absent—he merely translated the grandeur of red carpet-ready gowns into wearable pieces: separates of asymmetrical tops and jacquard cigarette pants were shown while shoulder-baring dresses were balanced with billowing sleeves and exaggerated silhouettes. Brocade ruffled coats and crystal-encrusted gowns in various pastel hues and jewel tones channeled Mark’s signature eleganza.

When asked about his design process for this particular collection, Mark shares that it was actually a trip to Europe, wherein he stopped at London and Italy to source new fabrics, that started everything. He was enamored by the different lavish textiles. In fact, he even had it all shipped to his home so that he could start production. Mark hopes that his newfound international market would love the collection as much as they did with his couture creations as he will be releasing them on international shopping website, Moda Operandi.
