Backstage at Edeline Lee with Vidal Sassoon

Happy Friday everyone !

I have been on a slight post-Fashion Week digital media detox ever since I got back from New York and I found it to be quite therapeutic for me, as I was definitely starting to experience the side effects of daily stress and work overload. It is very important to love what you do and always try to push the envelop further, but it is also very important to know when to take a break, sit back and enjoy life. And now that I have, it's time for me to get back on track with loads and loads of new fun content I simply cannot wait to share with you !

Starting with my experience with Vidal Sassoon in London, during Fashion Week. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend Edeline Lee's SS16 collection presentation at the Painting Rooms with the haircare brand and deeply fell in love with the laid back, glamourous look Sassoon's creative director, Damien Peers, created for the occasion. Deep side parts we executed as the general aesthetic focused more on very natural movement, for a simple yet, modern feel. For Edeline Lee, Spring and Summer 2016 started with inspiration from a Summer day, driving along Highway One and the mythical Californian coastline. The final result is a joyful, breezy collection that definitely embodies the true meaning of a dream Summer, as seen through the eyes of a beautiful Californian girl blessed with quite a simple elegance.

The key products for this look were none other than the infamous Sassoon Professional Edit Body styling mousse; an aerated, bodifying foam that gives structural support and full volume to the hairstyle, and the Sassoon Professional Definitive Groom styling cream; a weightless formula that smoothes and defines hair for a tailored look with texture and shine. Quite an easy to reproduce look that will certainly be a go-to of mine when the colder months end ;)

COS STORE OPENING

Evening guys !

So, as I was saying this morning, really happy to be back in Montreal for a good 5 minutes. I'm just kidding, being back here for a couple days and getting to spend time with my family and Karl has been a real treat; the perfect pause between Fashion Week season and the daily grind. Tomorrow I am off to New York, partially to tie the knot on this Fashion month as I didn't get the chance to actually do NYFW this season, remember ? That mentioned, I am glad to only be leaving tomorrow as tonight marks the official opening of the first COS: Collection of Style store in downtown Montreal !

It's like I never left Europe ;)

Being a long-time advocate of European Fashion and more recently, of Scandinavian's, I was just head-over-heels, totally ecstatic to hear about one of my favourite boutique finally setting foot on the motherland. Tonight, COS brought the understated and very chic flair of Scandinavian aesthetic to Montreal and tomorrow, the doors will open to the public. If you are attempting to be minimalist as part of your general aesthetic, COS will certainly be your next best destination, offering a wide range of basics along with some statement pieces here and there, at prices that are much more Club Monaco than Christian Dior. It’s this dedication to design and simplicity that’s built the label such a loyal following. But for me, it is the accessories that really caught my eye; bold, nouveau-genre, almost like a work of art ! Certainly, pieces of jewelry you will never find anywhere else...

1310 Sainte-Catherine West St.
Montreal, QC, H3G 1P6
Canada

Officially opens to the public on October 9th, at noon

J.JS LEE RUNWAY SS16

Happy, happy Thursday everyone !

I am so glad to be back on my daily grind, the accurate kind; as if Fashion Week season was anything ordinary and humdrum, right ? I think the hardest for me is to actually not be able to write for PBTH everyday during Fashion month and it comes down to a point were I really miss it ! All I've been wanting to do these past few days was to get online and write about all those amazing moments I was experiencing. Well, now that I'm back from Europe, I'll have plenty of time to do so…

Starting with the collection preview which kicked-off my Fashion Week in London, J. JS LEE. Jackie's new Spring line was everything you dream you warmer seasons would be like; light, playful yet, elegantly structured and tailored. Let's not forget that the J. JS LEE woman is a contrasting mix of a strong professional with an equally fun, casual side, revealing her carefree inner self. These were clothes the modern woman (you and I, ladies!) could slip into her wardrobe immediately and make it pleasantly breezy and easy to translate well from daily wear to after hours'.

Jackie and runway help-stylist, Hanna Kelifa, really enhanced the energetic approach the designer had previously build her collection around, with a 70's Californian inspired silhouette that, let's face it, is way more relaxed that what can be seen here on the East coats. I'm talking oversized, sports infused, voluminous shapes toned down a notch by Lee's signature minimalist tailoring. The collection also featured classic black shift dress, sleeveless vest (a current favourite of mine!), super mini-skirt suits and fluid spaghetti-strap beach tunics coming in a soft colour palette of honey blonde, combined with multi-striped candy pink, salt-water powder blue and parrot green; very soft, gentle and easy of the eye.

I am really hoping to score a few tunics and twin-sets here and there for my trips down South during the Holidays. Maybe by then, the full production will be on its final touches and the collection, ready for a pre-order ? Fingers crossed, my friends ;)

From Paris With Love

Bonjour, bonjour !

Beyond excited to be back in my beautiful Paris for the next week and even more thrilled that it is for my very first Paris Fashion Week. I am so looking forward to learn all about the French way to Fashion Week and to meet with the people here, that make it such a world-renowned event each season. This time around though, I will be working a little differently and won't be sharing any of my outfits for the week until after I get back to Montreal, as I am preparing something completely new and different for you guys to enjoy… Something that I believe is totally worth the wait and might give some new dimensions to the whole art of streetstyle. Nervous but excited for you guys to see and give me feedback and comments ;)

In the meantime, you can follow along my Parisian adventures via Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, using the hashtag #PBinParis. I will also be joining forces with the Office du Tourisme et des Congrès de Paris to bring light on my 10 favourite Parisian addresses over the next days so make sure to keep up with us by using the hashtag #ParisJeTaime and by following them on Instagram !

Also, stumbled upon these images we shot almost a year ago and never got a chance to share with you. Sporting one of my favourite Masabni dressed from one of her past collections; I mean, look at this vivid colour ! The fit, the shape, the length, the allure… Everything about this dress screams confidence, sophistication, femininity and passion. Another gorgeous masterpiece from my favourite Montreal designer.

Bisous,
