OSCILLATING IDENTITIES
Oscillating means to swing, vibrate, be in movement.
OSCILLATING IDENTITIES leaves static ideas behind and swing between different cultures, forms, worlds, sentiments and perceptions – sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker

    SELF ESSENCE

Neutral colors form the basis for the balanced, calm play of materials.  Skin and apricot tones cover the fabrics with tender gradations.  Restrained metallic gloss looks elegant in satins or graphic jacquards.  Delaves radiate naturalness.  Peach skin finishes create exciting surfaces for both hand and eye.  Elegance and sportiness play with checks, herringbone and technical jerseys.

    ORIENTAL LABORATORY

Natural white, beige and sand tones exude a colorful calmness.  The warmth of the orient is felt in orange, yellow and bronze colors.  An elegant depth is added to this spectrum in the form of black and petrol.  Voluminous, grainy and yet floating texture constructions appear as modern unis in cotton/polyamide mixtures.  Lots of creativity appears with structured surfaces.  Heat-embossed polyester-mixtures and bondings make incredible 3D patterns magically appear.   Jacquard and lace gleaming a discreet luxury.

    DREAM PATCHING

Very soft watercolor tones play with bold retro colors.  Icy blue, rose and lavender nuances meet nautical blue pine green and ruby red.  Romantic patterning creates a dreamy basis with tile motifs, houndstooth and naive jacquards.  Characteristic Chanel surfaces and printed laser cuts create lively structures.  Abstracted rings and sun chair stripes show creativity in marine motifs.  Nets bring a flowing lightness and transparency to the materials.

    PSYCHOTECH JUNGLE

The focus of Psychotech Jungel is on defamiliarized prints.  Pixels, vegetation, graphic patterns, landscapes: everything gets psychedelically abstracted, distorted, enlarged or blurred.  Intense, sporty colors like orange, red and turquoise meet exotic green and purple.  This palette finds some relaxation with white, graphite, silver and natural wood tones.  Hybrid fabrics are bonded or composed of differing samples.  Technical materials, vinyl and silk make shiny, moving surfaces.  Perforations, sometimes printed, find applications in sporty jerseys, synthetic leather and glued materials.

    DENIM EXTREMES

An extremely simple color palette of blue tones get completed with important summer casual colors like beige, white and greying pastels.  The material range is even more wide and extreme than in previous seasons.  Super clean materials are just as present as totally bleached-out washes or extremely over dyed indigos.  Wheather flowing or solid, structured or super smooth, extremely stretchy or raw and sturdy, jacquards or 3/1 - everything a denim lover could dream of is here.

Spring summer 16 lets itself speak freely, joyously affirming its creative commitment and greedily welcoming surprise.Certainties and habits are let go of. Exchanges and sharing create a blossoming of ideas. Fake look-alikes delightfully playing on reality and fantasy battle uniformity.

A highly tactile, poetic and sensual season, all freshness and energy, flowery and fruity a season to savor with relish.

It invites fashion to defy convention and move away from entrenched identities, the better to enthusiastically delve into sports, infuse menswear and casual wear with suppleness, sophisticate raw looks and make silhouettes bloom with bright, bursting colour.

IN MOTION
Seizing on new harmonies embodying both energy and well-being, for supple, round fashions whose contours accentuate and follow the body without constraint. Taking a more intimate approach to a sporty spirit, locating the balance between calmness and vitality. Embracing sensual and invisibly techno fabrics with friendly stretch, bouncy and fine fluids, fresh softness, and artificial fleshiness.
Constructing curves around the body, envisioning cuts in 3D, infusing chic looks with a new athleticism, seeing technology as a more personal added-value, and delighting in a virtuoso balance of dynamism, comfort and seduction.

IN ABUNDANCE

Accentuating fullness, enveloping with air, floating and layering to suggest loose lines and free the body of all weight.

Combining transparency and boundless profusion, multiplying layers, spreading decoration, expanding and opening up volumes. Dreaming up a nonchalant, bubbly and slightly futuristic fashion. Injecting a high summer spirit into citywear or red-carpet looks, playing around with the very long or very short, revealing and concealing, giving a fresh look to menswear. Turning to poetic or experimental fantasy, cultivating unknown and appetising fruits and flowers.

IN ESSENCE

Constructing simply, bringing elementary cuts to life through the richness of textures, effacing the body but leaving a perception of it through openings and necklines. Creating hybrids of minimal sportswear and couture luxury, reconciling rigour and sexiness, expressed through highly tactile structures and captivating behaviours. Envisioning long and lean shapes, concise foldings, primitive wrappings, fake-twin assemblies, and decorations with a rudimentary opulence.

    COLORS

The colors of the range orchestrate encounters between fresh, intense, subtle and sparkling colors.
They reveal a voluptuous neutrality, inviting soothing and biting contrasts. They offer up subtle and explosive duos, mischievous and tasty fake twins, deceptively monochrome lookalikes. They light up the darkness with coldly luminous brights, and underline the primordial power of darks. The range explores colorful new plays on proportions, inventing light and playful alliances of pale tones, and revealing soft and strident duos or multi-tones.

FIRST TEXTILE TRENDS AUTUMN.WINTER 15/16

For autumn/winter 15/16 the following five textile trend themes are defined: POWER CLASSICS, HIGH FUNCTIONS, COSY OUTDOORS, FANCY DELIGHTS und HYBRID PRINTS. They faces clarity, high-tech, normalcy and escapade in a progressive implementation.

   POWER CLASSICS

There is an enormous longing for established classics in terms of both substance and style. Themes such as normcore, 1980s sports, 1990s streetwear, and Bauhaus satisfy this desire for more simplici- ty. Of particular focus are neoprene sweatshirts, tech jerseys, quilted chevrons, bonded wool patterns, and classic printed patterns such as houndstooth and Glen plaid.

   HIGH FUNCTIONS

Extremes present both a challenge and an inspiration at the same time. Futuristic, tech-savvy, active, searching, and functional are the verbal drivers of these highly technical trends. Thermo-sensory co- lors, air cells, integrated measurement sensors, and chrome and rainbow finishes augment fashion and textiles. Padded mesh, nylon, and stretch fabrics are graphically enhanced with polygonal, photo- realistic or 3D prints.

   COSY OUTDOORS

Pure nature! Wrapped up in cuddly materials like fur, down, cordu- roy, fustian, velour and chunky knits. Comfortable, sensory tailoring in the boyfriend cut underscores the casual esprit, made up to date with waist lacing and high boots. English plaids, Harris tweed and traditional folklore patterns blend with nature-inspired surfaces which imitate materials like marble, wood, and moss.

   FANCY DELIGHTS

Extravagance and humor, dandy and magic, beauty and gourmet, fetish and design, baroque and disco, bow ties and tuxedos. This pursuit of the most beautiful and the best brings together glitter and jacquard, fur and sheepskin, lacquer and gold, fringe and leopard print, lamé and yak, flora and fauna (-prints).

   HYBRID PRINTS

The autumn/winter prints 15/16 are dominated by progressive variants from realistically natural and graphical futuric motives. Often in combination with spatial dimentionality. Natural inspirations begin with landscapes, mountains and waves - futhermore wood, marble, flower and leaf impressions are used up to abstructed leopards, snakes and moths. Polygonal patterns, camouflages and patchwork represent modern geometrical and organical pictures.

Christmas Fare | Tredwell's London

Ciao bellissimas! Happy Friday!

I am particularly looking forward to this weekend as this week has totally been one of those. I've really struggled to shake a bout of post-holiday fogginess, and I can't wait to get away this weekend (we're going to the beach!) and regroup.

Despite the foggy brain, this week has been peppered with lovely events. Yesterday my blogging agency WaR Network laid on a feast for our WaR family at Tredwell's restaurant on Upper St Martin's Lane. Given that as bloggers we generally work alone, it was so nice to have a proper Christmas party! We were treated to the most delicious food, and I got to catch up with some of my favourite blogging friends.
Opened earlier this year, Tredwell's is the third London restaurant of Michelin starred chef Marcus Wareing. Marcus so kindly took the time to talk to us all at the lunch yesterday, and him and I got in to conversation about the striking custom made clock the restaurant boasts. Marcus explained that he had wanted to design a wall with knives lodged in and the handles showing, but that for health and safety reasons (naturally) his design team had advised that they create a piece of artwork using knives instead. The result is brilliant - a photo opportunity favourite amongst the lunch's attendees yesterday!
For those of you that love a menu snoop, here's what we ate:

Down the apples & pears (delicious vodka infused cocktails)

Harissa-glazed aubergine, peanuts, coriander, chilli
Chricken liver mousse, bacon jam, toast
Pulled  pork belly, ginger & apple slider

Sea bass, carrot, lentils, crispy shallots
Lamb chops, minted bean chutney,
Gnocchi, cauliflower, sprouts, hazelnuts & Berkswell cheese
Sweet potato chips, BBQ mayo
Kale slaw

Salted caramel ice cream
Warm ginger cake, caramel, cream

Such was the lovely leisurely pace of our lunch, I had to dash before dessert to a meeting. Boo! And yes my heart broke to have missed the salted caramel ice cream.
If you too are in an industry where you largely work alone, I highly suggest getting together with people in the same field and instigating a Christmas party! Not only is it lovely to celebrate the season, but it is a great way to network, and get to know new friends.

Tredwell's is definitely being added to my list of preferred central London eateries. The location of Tredwell's is great, food and drinks are yum, and despite yesterday being catered for, I've done the research, and the pricing is good too!

Do you have your Christmas party coming up? Are you looking forward to it?!

Have an awesome weekend guys!

Love,

MB x

P.S. I am in this week's LOOK magazine in a special shoot with New Look! You can pick up a copy until Monday - it's one of my favourite shoots to date!
