All PANDORA
Well hey there festive lovers! Boy do I have a treat for you . . . !

Gorgeous jewellery brand PANDORA are hosting a special Christmas evening this Thursday December 11th, to celebrate the holiday season with singer Gabrielle Aplin. Gabrielle sang the beautiful Christmas track for PANDORA's Christmas TV campaign, and will be performing an exclusive acoustic set at the event on Thursday, held at the Marble Arch London flagship boutique.

I have a ticket to give away for one of you, plus a guest, and a £50 voucher too!

To enter: drop me an e-mail on monica@theelginavenue.com by midday GMT tomorrow, Wednesday 10th December, with a little note stating your interest. The winner will be chosen at random, and announced by me on my social channels in the afternoon. The winners must be able to get themselves to the Marble Arch flagship store between 6-8pm on December 11th.
I'll be at the event on Thursday also, and I am so excited to hang out with one of you and the lovely Gabrielle!

The first 50 people to que for the event will also gain entry, but hey, might as well try your hand at guaranteed entry first, right?!

Super excited to meet a couple of you on Thursday! Get involved with #PANDORALounge

Good luck!

Statement Jewels With Wallis

Of all the elements an outfit can consist of, jewellery totally has my heart. My heart and a huge section of my wardrobe. It figures then that when Wallis asked if I would be a part of a shoot to show off their latest jewellery pieces, I typed a very fast, very enthusiastic YES in return.

In total we shot three Wallis Jewellery stories which will be featured on Wallis online over the next few weeks, stay tuned to my Twitter for updates. Today is the turn of our first styling feature, The Statement Piece. YAY!

Read on for more images, styling tips, and some behind the scenes snaps from the day . . .

I so clearly recall when statement necklaces became popular, it was around the time The City first aired and we were introduced to the accessorising genius of one Olivia Palermo. Remember?! Even in THIS scene where OP is squaring up to colleague Erin, she's giving great neckpiece action. Nowadays the statement necklace is a given addition to any and all outfits, and is still one of my favourite ways to amp up an ensemble. If you too love a good dose of colour, 3D drama, crystals . . .    then bookmark Wallis jewels NOW. I am abscessed with this multicoloured tassel necklace and stone and pearl collar.

For styling up statement pieces, here are a few tips:

 - think about your neckline. A crew or round neck work best with statement necklaces. They provide the perfect base. If you're wearing a deep V, or lower neck, I would consider statement earrings instead. It is all about enhancing your outfit, not competing with different elements.

- go for a colour clash. I love utilising statement jewellery to create drama in an outfit. Whilst a hot red dress may not work with a turquoise jacket, a turquoise necklace is just the right amount of contrast to really pop.

- start gently. If rainbow brights bring fear to your jewellery draw, start with a dramatic gold, silver or copper piece. They will go with everything.

I was so excited on this shoot to work with some of my favourite industry girls ever. Wallis Jewellery's PR Amy has been one of The Elgin Avenue's greatest supporters from day dot and I will forever be grateful for our relationship. It was SO fun working together on this creative project and I knew 100% that Amy would be on the same wave length as me when it came to jewels. Seriously, her jewellery collection could rival my own! Not only was Amy there, but one of my greatest friends, makeup artist Charlotte Wood, was on hand to do my hair and makeup. Charlotte and I have been friends for years and it is so awesome to develop our careers along side one another, hair and makeup is such an intimate part of a shoot - it made all the difference to have her there. The shoot was a long, fun day, consisting of MANY outfit changes, a relaxed team and a seriously scrummy Pret run. Yes, I am mentioning the Pret run. It was THAT good.

I am so excited to see the images on Wallis online over the next couple of weeks. You can check out Wallis's Jewellery collection here - let me know if you fall head over heels for the pieces too!

A huge thank you to Wallis for having me as part of the family, and to everyone who made the shoot so awesome.

Have a super day all!

Love,

Turquoise

When moving house recently I packaged up my jewellery.

That was hard.

Bling things hung from every mirror, door handle, sewing machine…
anything with a 'sticky outy' bit was fair game.

Eventually after a jewellery cull I condensed my collection into three pretty suitcases, but am so looking forward to moving into my next permanent postcode and unpacking all of my jewellery once more. I am definitely thinking that I'll need a better method of organisation though, any tips you guys have would be much appreciated.

Anyhu, I could write an entire blog series on how much I love jewellery but for now I'm highlighting the awesomeness of turquoise.

Read on for my favourite ways to wear turquoise and top buys for now…

Notes On Styling: turquoise is a colour that loves company. I love stacking up my turquoise bracelets with pieces I've had knocking around for ages. There is something off beat about the colour, so juxtaposing it with a fancy watch can look kinda cool. I love to wear earrings with a loose up do. If you don't fancy committing to a full turquoise piece, even a small stone in amongst other colours can add a pop! I am seriously crushing on these. For necklaces, any vibe will go. I love both a hint of colour and a full blown turquoise statement piece. I think a lot of people assume that turquoise is a colour for Summer, and whilst it does look super dreamy with a tan, it can totally work for now too. Try pairing a navy jumper with a turquoise stone necklace.
